What a weird mouse
Mouse is great. Rubber desintegrates after 2 years of use. No replacement part.
I used to use an Arc Mouse, and the battery lasted 1 year. Microsoft mice really last long.
Why the dislikes ?
My review: do not buy this mouse. The shiny plastic feels terrible in warm weather. Small side button, you'll need a precision to hit it with your thumb, and you have to bend towards the button. Top side blue button - not comfortable at all to click, again thumb is in unusual position Scroll wheel tilt can't be remapped by Microsoft software
You should rethink your evaluation. I had issues with mouse left click not working at first week. I decided to search for the issue and found out that many people are having the same problem.
Great shape.. Terrible lag
Thank god for this video I was trying to close the mouse for half hour I didn’t realize the magnetic close I was trying to affix it upside down
Love the keyboard that comes with the combo but the mouse is still a little too big for my little hands :( For those doing their serious research, my wrist to ring finger tip measures at 15cm (3")
The black thumb assignment button breaks and wears away into a wrinkly styrofoam dent that jams on the click... within 2 weeks apparently according to my experience.
Let me add my story as a user of two years. I have the mouse and keyboard set which includes the mouse in question. I deeply regret my purchase and have annoying wrist pain when using the mouse for more than 30 minutes. The entire package was far too expensive, and was not an indication of the product quality. This is a showy piece made to look good. style over substance. This is for rich people to throw their money away on and feel good about because it looks pretty.
I have this mouse for 4 years , it is absolutely astonishing in terms of comfort and lack of strain on your wrist. Best mouse ever.. I wish they had a Bluetooth one as well
This video is a useful review. Thanks!
Do you know why I suddenly can't scroll down? Everything is fine, and I've noticed a light comes on sometimes under scroll thing.
Getting the keyboard combination. My interest is strain, u imply I can go hours on it.
Perfect, I'm using it 4th year in a row, full time!
Great Review, would like to remind people, especially using laptop or MS Surface on the go, to get into the habit of putting the receiver in the mouse, and turning it off, the receiver is held by the magnet in the mouse. This way you will not lose it, and from what I heard you can not just buy a receiver, you have to buy a new mouse if you lose it.
The receiver is too big, mine broke after a few months, I returned the whole package.
I had 2 Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse , and both had problems with around 2 years of use. this is very confortable but very fragile considering the expensive price. due this I don't recommend.
Yeah... in 2021, AAs & AAAs are actually a plus over rechargeable, not a downside...
Very poor product. After a few months only, I broke the USB connector, and Microsoft will not sell the connector. Your nice brandnew keyboard, mouse and numeric pad are good for the bin. This is what you call sustainable. After contacting Microsoft, they told me they would not sell me a connector separately... Never buying hardware from Microsoft again with such lousy products.
This thing is 7 years old and still costs more than 100 euro. For christ's sake
wish they would come with silent mouse option with this shape
I love this keyboard, what i would like to know as i have ripped off many keys off keyboards and when i replaced them the key function has never been good, so i was wondering with this key board if it is ok to take off the keys to give it a good clean??
Where is the @ button,pls
Been using this set for about a year now. Yes, *difficult to keep clean.* *Unsatisfying key presses*, hard to know how much pressure activates the key. My typing errors have skyrocketed with this keyboard! *mouse clicks are too sensitive,* I cannot rest my fingers on the buttons or I will activate the buttons. My click and drags have been ruined about 10% of the time by accidental right-clicks. Mouse too small. I am a European man but my hands are smaller than average: I get horrible wrist pain trying to grip this mouse - how ironic! This set is style over substance, fancy looking, annoying to use. I severely regret my purchase. I was mistaken to think the price was an indication of quality.
Six years later, that keyboard still doesn't have back-light nor rechargeable batteries...
if they add rgb they would buy it more
Someone, pls, just do the f***** 4000 with touchpad. PLEASE!
if you've got big hands then the rest on the keyboard is in the wrong place. would have been good to have a slide out adjustment rather than assume we are all created equal, particularly on an ergonomic product
what are those.
This looks really ugly, it doesn't even use mechanical switches and is STILL using the QWERTY keyboard layout, which is one of the major contributors to RSI. One of the best things those suffering from RSI can do is switch keyboard layouts to something like DVORAK that is designed for modern keyboards. It takes a while to learn a new layout, but it is absolutely worth it. The QWERTY layout was deliberately designed in the 1780s to slow typists down and make typing as difficult as possible. They had to do this because early typewriters would jam at the speeds the typists were capable of. It's a horrible keyboard and probably the most antiquated piece of tech still in regular use.
This would have been perfect if it featured an LED backlight and dedicated media controls!
I bought this keyboard and mouse and had it for 4 days before returning it. It is not compatible with Windows 7. As far as it's ergonomics it didn't cut it for me either. I much preferred the Microsoft 4000 wireless when they made it; now it's only available corded. This keyboard is just one more way that Microsoft is trying to get users to go to Windows 10.
where is Kumar
Rechargeable batteries: Just get a set of NiMH batteries and a charger at any electronics store. If the product can fit them, they are the best. You can have a charged set ready for when the ones you use are depleted. Compare that to non-replaceable Lithium-batteries that have a limited lifetime _even_ if you don't use them, where you might have to toss the entire device when the battery dies. Backlighting: If you type well enough that ergonomics matter then you don't even need printing on the keys - it will all be in muscle memory.
I find Sculpt Keyboard pretty nice considering ergonomics. But this Sculpt ergonomics mouse is actually mockery of ergonomics! If egg shape is ergonomic than this mouse is ergonomic. Since ergonomy is not purpose of egg shape (but optimum solidity) , this mouse is just another designer's fancy figment. If you are lucky it will fit your hand somehow, if not, well - wish you more luck another time. It is presumably ergonomic because it renders your right palm to be more right inclined which is more natural. But because both main buttons "logically" follow "good looking egg shape" left part of left button surface leans far to much steep down to the left side forcing you - because your palm is, or should be, right inclined - to press with forefinger to its smooth (in fact slippery) surface not from above but from right inclined angle, pretty far from optimal angle. I actually glued a small triagle-shaped piece of rubber on left side of left button as finger holder to make this device at least usable for me. Those two additional buttons on the left are nothing but bad yoke considering ergonomics, and the same holds for whole that concave part on the left side (thumb holder), too. This mouse is just another designer's figment, and let it be - but to call this egg-like thing ERGONOMIC mouse... this comes on very age of cynical fraud.
I have two combos, I've detected one flaw in the mouse after 1 year of use.... the left click fail some times, not sure but it happens with the second combo after 12-18 months of use. Another thing that I don't like it is the degradation of the mouse rubber and the keyboard pillow fabric... no matter what you do, in regards the ergonomics I think this product is the best on the market. Hope that Microsoft improve the materials used.
Im suffering from wrist pain as im spending like 12 hours a day with a mouse in my hand, i tried tons of different mice, the microsoft sculpt was the only one that actually relieved some of the pain. But it sure does take a while to get used to it, i got large hands so i can hold the mouse perfectly, but some people with small hands may find the size of the mouse a bit overwhelming.
The Mouse shown in video: https://amzn.to/2IWLoPs This is what I purchased. Thanks. (paid link) As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
If I connect to the computer, can I connect after other Bluetooth device? Thanks
does this work on mac?
I purchased it with $50 at Samsung store in Korea. I know this video captured in 4years earlier but it looks like exactly same functions, shape and company. what a different in today??? it's just inflation impact? anyway, I use it well except sometimes it makes me embarrassed after download AVG.
Photoshop work = use a graphics tablet =) Even the cheapest, $20 wacom graphics tablet is a million times better than any mouse for Photoshop work.
Mine gives me problems like changing webpages on its own. on you tube it goes back one page on its own. Second Sculpt mouse to do this.
finally a bluetooth mouse without a damn usb Bluetooth dongle
mine doesn’t have the bluetooth button in the bottom
What is the dpi of this mouse?
My has only shows blue light under mouse but it doesn't show any mouse light like yours flashing red at top of the mouse behind, do you need to press any button? My also shows Sculpt Comfort Mouse but once you click it there is not ready to pair only option is to remove it. Any ideas guys???
Where did you get this theme? And what's the name of this theme?
"69" likes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
very nice review
I lost mine😡🙁
Where do they sell it for $20?
I read that after some win 10 updates that users complained it stopped working or had other issues. Have you had any if these issues?
I got 4 questions about this mouse: 1) Does it use the special Win 10 gestures like, showing all open programs (comparable to swiping up with 3 fingers) 2) Can you switch between programs as in task switcher (comparable to swiping left or right with 3 fingers)? 3) Can it do pinch to zoom? 4) Can you customize the buttons? Also, can you suggest a touchpad that uses the Win 10 gestures?
how can you open this thing up?
THIS MOUSE IS HORRIBLE, IT DISCONNECTS OFTEN. AND THE SCROLL WHEEL IS ERRATIC. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT ,A REVIEW AFTER NINE MONTHS OF USE.
there is a new BIOS 1.1.3 for Dell 7559... my system runs better now. Go check it out. all the best
not sure why so many dislikes, You explained what I needed to know.
Fantastic review, wish there were more videos on this mouse.
Good review sir!
