This guy can't set up hi hats. Here is video with real sound of HCS hi hat 14 BTW I bought meinl HCS hi hat 14 and it doesn't sound like on video

There is no winner or loser here, it's what you prefer. Meinl certainly has the most unique looking hats. I've been searching for the perfect hi hat for over 30 years, have played on an insane amount of hi hats, and finally settled on a set of 14" Zildjian K (regular) hi hats. They're just the most all-round, in my opinion. The hand hammering gives them a warmer sound while also still sounding crisp. I really liked the way the K Sweet series sounded here, so out of all the ones played in the video I would go with those. But honestly, they all sound impressive. Seems like they don't make bad sounding hats anymore : )

None of these beat my Paiste PST8 sound edge hats, for my tastes anyways. I really can't believe how good these things sound lol. I really don't like the sound of the Agop 30th Anniversary ones. That soft, fuzzy sound just has a cardboardy sortof sound and feel to me. A lot of other Hi hats have it too, but those are the best example here. Reminds me of Meinl HCS or something like that, idk. I like my hats crisp! Awesome video though, love these comparisons

I like the Paiste 602, it truly depends on what style of music your playing however i like to choose a product that's has versatility and can be just as effective for all types of music on any venue.I personally like Paiste Steve Jordan 17" Hats but i wouldn't play them on a hip hop gig nevertheless i would play the 602s on any gig

I have the 14 inch Paiste Twenty's Series Hi-Hats and they sound great live and in the studio. Also a pair of Zildjan KZ's that are incredible!

Beautiful video. Thanks for making it and taking the time to do it so perfectly in giving exact same demo of each. The wankers are easy to dismiss. But, the best (well, the best of those demoed) really are a matter of taste, I suppose. Albeit, the kick and snare are so utterly amazing I found difficulty in maintaining focus on the hats. But, here goes: The A's completely surprised mewell worth honorable mention and are to my surprise well within the bounds of acceptabilty. I'd give very close to the same consideration to the dark Paistes (whose crashes I love but whose hats I have always deemed boring). Between the two Istanbuls, the cheaper, only patially hand-hammered, Xist's took the prize though both are beefy while maintaining very good crispness; they possess the purity and breathiness that approaches perfection with a consistency bridging tightly closed, through loose, and fully opened. Meinl Sand. Buh bye. And HHX held there own. I wish you'd included some Bossies. Bear in mind, I've been doing this for 50 years so my hearing could be somewhat lacking.
