Profile Design Threadless Stem Converter: 1" To 1 1/8"
Fitting quill stem adapter 1 1/8" (31.8mm bar size)
eBay cheap old school bmx bicycle stem review
Remove/Install Bike Handlebars Without Scratching In Quill Stem
Can i put a lenght extender on the threadless converter??? I want both the look of a threadless stem but i need a quite long position on the bars
Are the spacers needed?
Thank You very good video!
I ordered this part. Good to see a video on it. Question, can you at the same time replace the head set with a threadless headset?
Can I use these with a carbon rigid fork?
can this stem size be installed in btwin my bike?
My stem keeps slipping loose to my stem adapter even though it was fully tightened. What should I do?
Is it ok to set the adapter lower than the profile sugested?
What do you call that one?
That was easy, simple, and to the point. THank you for the video.
I have a 24 And some thing mm, inside diameter steerer. What size should i buy?
What you mean by thread less?! It is 1inch 1 3/8 converted. There is still thread on the headset. You Chinese helicopter or what.
Dirás que esta bien ....pero no me gusta la idea de que queden las tasas std.y arriba ober...y para colmo los separadores están sobrados.....mejor la dejo original 100%
Hello. Will this adapter work to extend the fork of a road bike when it is very short?
There's no need for spacers for this. I'd leave them off - maybe its for looks?
WARNING!!!! This only works on 22.2 mm 1" forks. WILL NOT work on schwinn and older american 21.1 mm 1" forks!!!! YIKES!!!!
Hi can I ask is it okay if my fork is threaded? To use that 1 1/8 threadless riser
Hey, buddy my bike came with a quil stem i have a adjustable stem at home u need that threadless stem adaptor what size i should go for
Awesome video! How can i know the size of my quill stem? I have an old giant boulder mtb. Cheers!
can i use it with a fork extender?
Just cut it shorter at the same angle
very helpful mate
get ya hands dirty man! Its part of the process! :)
I did buy one of these adaptors, it fits inside perfect, but my headset moves under pressure
2 things that I’ve learned in my 37 years never trust a guy to work on a bike who wears latex gloves or at least gloves that don’t fit or a guy who takes the face of the stem all the way off to put bars on
Hi Reggie, what brand of stem is that, do you have a product code. Thanks
amazing
Is that type of adapter good or bad, because some people say it’s dangerous and all that stuff
Really looks good, female will be happy.
Nice video was wondering can the top cap be replaced with other top caps now that are 1 1/8.
hahahaha!!!
They viewers don’t care about your girl or her bike accident.
I bought the wrong adapter . Can I grind the 25.4 to 22.2mm ?
Why can’t I find a 1 1/8 inch (28.6 mm) quill stem ? My project has come to a complete halt because of this issue. Is there a bicycle store where you live that has one of what I’m looking for ? Thank you
what did you do to the front brakes?
Mechanically it would have been better/safer to cut the adapter shorter. (At the same angle as previously). As now you are clamping against a sloping surface and smaller diameter. A good jolt and the wedge can work itself to the upper portions of the steerer tube with the larger diameter. Meaning your handlebars will be loose. Good show either way.
Thank for this mate
How did the twitchy short stem do for her confidence?
you unscrewed the quill too much you're only supposed to losen it so the expansion of the two pieces that tighten the quill in place reduces so you can pull the quill out from the frame no good making tutorials if you don't actually know what you're doing lol
At this point at 3:15 all you had to do was take a mallet/hammer and tap down on the stem bolt to unstick the wedge nut.
2022 Update: I still have this today but my bicycle has been sitting outside environment in rain but have a cover but small parts gets exposed to rain. I mainly use this for cruising and road biking nothing vigorous like bmx which seeing from the comments doesn't seem to last long or hold up. I will post an update when I start riding it again.
Also bought mine like that did not last long the bottom weld broke and the handle bar keeps moving side to side i tried welding it back still the weld broke so i had to spend even more money buying a new one
I ride bmx with this and it did not last lo long it only took me a week then the weld on the bottom of it brocke and my bar keeps moving back wards it cant clamp on so i had to reweld the bottom of the stem which always cracks and welded eaven my bard on both sides on the stem to keep jt steady
Can it put at mtb also ?

Trying to find pliers like these... But there's nothing out there like it .
Hey! What bike is this? I actually just bought this Fuji bike a couple days ago. It’s a gran tourer, any idea what year they were manufactured ?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Great video.
Nice, should have watched the vid before f'n up some 3T handlebar...oh well!
I was given a old 1990 peugeot optimum 14 bikes the same age as me so I deceided to strip it for a new paintjob untill i got to the stem I used penetrating oils rubber mallets every tactic in the book and nothing so I admit defeat and say i might just scrap the project lift the bike to put it away by the bars and top tube and the bars and stem pop off in my hand think this bikes posessed now just a seatpost to defeat
Oh, de haber sabido antes esto, un año tarde 😂
Thanks really been looking for this video
Dude what happened to your shoes?:))
Put on some damn shoes nobody wants to see that yuck.
RJ, my man, my savior, i've been holding onto this stem and my new compact dropbars for two hours, i even cut the fork end of a stem. And i tried your way and it took 5 seconds It's a 26x110 stem and 110 is really uncommon size in korea, so i bought the handlebar to match it and if i can't fit that in, i had to buy another set Thank you man, i owe you a stem and a handlbar
Thanks. I gots a schwinn sprint from 1986, made in Taiwan I think giant produced the frame and suntour made the brakes and gears and all that.. Anyways I digress. I'm restoring it up and this video helped me allot.
Thanks! I was already desperate to change the handlebar :D Great channel!
Picked up a pair of those pliers today. They are a great tool, but the stem I'm trying to squeeze the handlebar into has the clamp bolt underneath, so it's hard to get the correct angle with the pliers. Any ideas?
How would you install or remove handlebars if the stem is a Cinelli 1R, which doesn't allow for spreading the clamp in the way shown in the video? Here's a picture of a Cinelli 1R: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3761/13192452654_3afe5d392e.jpg
Loved it! Thanks! :)
I have the same type of handlebar stem and I wanted to put different handlebars on it but there is no way to slide them on. do you think it would be ok to bend the bar holder ?
bought a bike from the tip for $8 and it had cinelli giro d'italia 64 alloy handlebars on it but they are scratched to all hell :(
thx
You try heating and freezing the metal parts?
