Hi, I was wondering if you have had any problems with higher volumes? I've had this set for about 5 years, but as far as I can remember, when I try to raise the volume above around 1/3 of the range of the volume knob, the sound has been crackling and then cuts out. I've had it connected to different sources and all present the same issue (with 3,5mm jack). Is that possibly just the max output of the speaker, where the knob should have been different from the factory? (A.k.a. lazy design with standardized parts), or is it possible to solve this? I'd love to hear someone's experience with this, because google searches only lead me to crap or non-answers...

i got a microlab solo 6c, it's so much better.
I just got these from Amazon and they don't work HELP. On full blast I can hear the music faintly. Checked wires many times. Changed outlets, changed audio sources and nothing. Doesn't even have a buzzing noise even when you touch the AUX green plug like other speakers do. I think mine are a dud :(
The front is a passive radiator, it helps with punch bass but is really bad at sub-bass

I just got these from Amazon, and I've had Logitech R-20 speakers for close to 10 years and they gave me no issues and still sounds great. The Z523 I just got, I plugged them in and used my phone's music for a test and NOTHING. Thought maybe the power strip wasn't giving it enough power so I moved the set up to another isolated outlet, still nothing. To give it final test I hooked it up to my brand new computer set up (1 week old) Windows 10 with AMD quad core. Still nothing, I then went through troubleshooting and adjusting settings. Nothing. If I put it on full I can hear music very faintly. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. It is a simple enough set up. Do you think you could tell me what could be wrong? Or is it just defective? I also reached out to Logitech just now and awaiting their reply. I really don't want to go through the trouble of returning it if I can find something I could fix on my own. My technical abilities are that I replaced my motherboard on my 10 year old Toshiba laptop. So if repairs are within those abilities I would attempt to fix it. I've read somewhere that it can be as simple as a loose wire strip... I know you're not tech support but I figured you might be able to offer some advice?

i'm sorry brother but your "review" was sub-par:( you should watch some professional reviewers like linus tech tips. You obviously put a lot of effort into the led's and stuff but you need to do some comparative analysis and tell what the speakers are good at and what they suck at. Just playing the sound of one audio system doesn't work... well because the sound comes through OUR speakers.. Also the last 3 seconds were horrible, did you try to blow our headphones? I'm no troll or picking on you I hope you can see that.

Well to be honest , i replaced my old and broken 5.1 logitechsystem by this system and they truely blew me over ! :) For such a small sytem and price it's well worth it's money..probably more even then my previous 5.1 system... I hve them now for about a year and they perform very well..taking them everywhere with me, on festivals and bbq-parties etc..just a good soundsystem , very sturdy and  for the money probably best of all :)

The lights and fog machine sold me on this. I was totally going to pass it by until that. Thanks for making my decision easier. So will I have to have some special power module for the lights? I don't like this set.. i had it.. but the highs are just horrible :/ even for the price.. and the sub is alright.. but the bass response just isn't there, even at lower levels.. it was great for gaming though.. but that's about it :/ I have the z623 now.. and i heard the z323 at a friends house.. now even though the z323 has less bass it does sound better and sounds quite good with anything..

That's the same as these speakers. The right speaker starts off when low then the left kicks in. Might be an issue with this series.
Get this, I got a replacement from Logitech because of a physical defect *paint missing* the new ones have an issue that on the lower volumes, the left driver doesn't kick in! As you turn it up from off it starts with the right speaker and moves over to the left. Uneven sound :@. where as my old pair sound great (logitech let me keep them) so I am going to try and take the casing off the new one and put on old
