Heheheeh stop caring about left handed people.. I am left handed and I use right handed devices since the first day I touched a computer.... That comment make us feel like we have disability just by born left handed... I will reveal a secret to everyone who care about this, WE ARE AMBIDEXTROUS! actually I can't use a mouse with my left hand.. I tried and I failed.. literally every single left handed person I knew in my entire life is ambidextrous and all of they use the right hand for the mouse 😏 so don't care about it... no words if the person only has the left arm this is a true reason but having both for sure that leftie is ambidexteous 🙃
Been using M570 over 7 years I think. Maybe it´s time to upgrade! it would be nice to control 2 devices with 1 mouse!
My only complaint with trackballs is that you have to clean the ball from dust often :(
Love this mouse. The center button actually toggles between two computers. Great so when I go out with the laptop I don’t have to re-sync the mouse. They also come with a base that tilts it further which to me is very comfortable.
I actually am 1 of those that PREFER to game with a trackball. Currently using the M570
I will say the battery life is no joke. I used the one I have for 6 months before it needed a charge. Used daily for AutoCAD, inventor, etc along with daily usage.
please everybody check in www or youtube microswitch problems of logitech trackball mouses, it's a pity from logitech, good designs poor quality switches...
The clicking hurt my arm but i know no other.
when you let go of the mouse the cursor isn't going to drift at all, and you can use it at weird angles no problem, but for me, switching between typing and cursoring all the time, trackball is a must, it even gives your eyes a break as you don't have to relocate the mouse pointer when transitioning to mousing. it does work for FPS, haven't gotten used to it yet, but it's amazingly fluid if you can reassign the fire control to a left hand keyboard key
good job thanks!
Can you play Path of Exile with it?
First time user of this type of mouse & no one will tell me how to actually use it. I have plugged it in & cannot 'click & drag', I use this option every day & also I need to know how to click on a line of text or whatever, highlight & do whatever I want from there, my $10 mouse does more than this $150 model!!!
fails with linux due constant disconnections.
Thanks - a useful review. If you do have some way to process the sound so it doesn't sound muffled, that would definitely be good. I actually tried cleaning each ear with a cotton bud because I thought something had blocked them, but then realised it was definitely the sound from this video. ;-)
My Mx Ergo failed just after a year. They are still using bad switches. I'm done with Logitech.
I use a computer 8-10 hours a day, 5 days a week, and have for almost 40 years. I do really like the MX Ergo. It has drawbacks. Short battery life for me (need to charge once a week). No storage location for the unifying receiver (but I never unplug that so don't care). Standard USB charging instead of USB-c - but don't really care. The major drawback right now for me is that it bricked yesterday after less than 2 years. I've used the older M570 ones for far, far longer than that. But this one is more comfortable. I've never had hand cramps (like I do with a regular mouse) nor any other pain issues. And never had carpal tunnel. And the time I had a pinched nerve in my neck, the fact that I could pick it up and put it and my forearm on a stack of books was great and allowed me to keep working while physical therapy eventually took care of the pinched nerve. Just wish it hadn't turned into a brick yesterday.
How does this work with people who have carpal tunnel?
Guys could you tell me that is it suitable for Gaming developing? I'm about to do a lot of stuff like modeling and coding in Unity3D and I really want to know the experience of using a trackball. Appreciate!
Is the Plus version better or that 20 degree tilt Is all you would need ?
I've used the first ever track ball mouse Logitech created, but then they screwed up a little so i gave it up, but with this MX ERGO, i actually bought 2 of them, one is hidden in the save for use years later, and currently using one. I simply love it and wouldn't change for anything else.
I am using the M570 trackball. Is the MX Ergo a worthwhile upgrade?
Ergo and overall Logitech trackballs are in such a weird place - M570, Ergo and now Ergo M575 are good in theory, but they lack in some areas that makes them not as good as they should be.
MX Ergo is priced on premium level yet it has no free wheel like MX Master line, has worse quality of the scroll wheel and doesn't have additional horizontal scroll wheel or gesture pad. It's super expensive but offers only tilting which unfortunately makes people buy this device for that feature alone.
M575 which is successor to the M570 costs less but it's just a minor facelift without any benefits after so many years besides efficient BT connection and nicer look. It should have at least better switches not this horrible Chinese ones that 90% of mouse industry uses (Ergo and M570 also have them).
Logitech is fine with that lineup because Kensington has even more failure prone trackballs and they are more expensive and have terrible scroll wheels. Also they are pain in the ass for Mac users because KensingtonWorks software constantly breaks the mouse so people gotta search for workarounds. Deft trackballs are nice but many people have problems with their bearings from what I've heard and they are unknown company for the general consumer so that another company that can't fight with Logitech.
All trackball enthusiast want from Logitech is to: leave M5xx lineup as it is as a budget thumb trackball, make Ergo a premium thumb trackball with MX Master features [scroll wheel(s) and gesture pad/button - this mouse is to expensive for what it has to offer] and create successor to the Marble trackball as a new index finger trackball with a proper scroll wheel not some gimmick with button combination.
I Would like to go on a Trackpad mouse, but I am coming from Anywhere MX2 mouse, so lacking of side scroll, and fas scrolling by push option missing on the mouse is a deal breaker!
The ergo actually comes with side scroll wheel but is different on the central wheel that you control by moving it to the sides... this thing is more a necessity for health in my case it is. My entire arm and back thanks to me because designing floorplans, 3ď models and editing videos the entire day (literally) demands a great device to care of my health
I am still waiting for new version of mx ergo 😭
great review! almost went to Best Buy to get one as I've been happy with my mx 3 (3days so far). probably does not support multi channel like the mx master 3 as well which is great for transferring to anther computer.
That's exactly my frustration with Logitech. At the same price point as MX master 3, the mx ergo doesn't have the side scroll or the hyper-fast scroll wheel.
Well done test, thank you for that! I hope for you that your channel grows quickly and I am happy to contribute my little part to it. Many greetings from good old Germany, Michael
Best price on Amazon: http://geni.us/MXErgo
Nobody mention that this is not a mouse!!! just a trackpad
you forgot the most important. It is made to work with Linux and any one not using linux has rocks in their head.
this is the best mouse I ever had and I didn't even bought him jet!
mouses not mice
Is this only a trackball or also works as traditional mouse?
Where do you keep the fob when you're on the go?
Thank you for the review. It helped me decide which one I'd get. I've got pretty bad tendonitis, and it's helpful to have it. :)
you said exactly what I was waiting for, its able to switch between 2 computers with the simple press of a button. SOLD!!!
The video was on point and informing!
it's absolutely huge! how can i possibly use something so astronomical?
as far as trackballs go it's mostly a step backwards from the m570, with it's shittier DPI , the stupid angle thing that WILL collapse while you are using it, and the pointless 'low dpi' button which takes it from it's massive 400 DPI and drops it to 200 - oh and the bottom rubber will peel off, it comes with a shitty scroll wheel and it costs 3 times what an M570 does. Because logitech hates you.
Does this use the same shitty switches that were used in the M570 or does it actually have decent switches? My M570 is basically broken due to this.
I hope theres a wired version. Because there isnt a wireless mouse out there that works like a good ole wired in, non-laggy, battery saving, happy stable and solid performing get it done w/o forgetting to turn it off dependable mouse.
If you agree with me, leave my comment a thumbs up and Ill be sure to leave more comments about other items too that you may agree with! *points to the thumbs up button while smiling* (youtubers)
m570 was very comfortable but the build quality sucks. I had 5 and their left button dies after two years of regular use. Does this one have that problem?
This looks awesome! It has things I didn't even know I needed! I think the only thing left for them to integrate is infinite scrolling. Click a switch and let that mouse wheel just go. That's my one and only hangup, I think
How did I miss this product? I am a big fan of logi pointing devices and always wished there was a tilt on the wheel.
I would prefer 2-3 more programmable buttons though.
- one on the right for the pinkie
- one plus where the new one is
- one or two on the lower end of the ball....
Well, I work on 3 screens and have a load of apps open :) so moaaar buttons= better.
Either way I am ordering this right now.
you said computer to computer but can it go to a tv with bt?
This moise is SOOOOOOOOO BAD. Dont buy it. The mouse has such a bad connection plus the ball wont let you move around the screen without having to constantly adjust the sensativity.
Aye wrist pain gang 🙌
meh there is no other good brand? I've had several issues with logitech lately
Awesome review. Really informative!
Great review. I bought the MX ergo and fell in love with it. Can't see myself going back to a sensore mouse any time soon.
Just press shift and scroll to go horizontal...
The ergonomic mouse is better cuz I have it I have used it for 1 year.
I bought trackball mouse for missile command and millipede.
Thx for the review. I've just canceled the order of the MX Vertical and ordered MX Ergo )
Does anyone use these mouses in DAWS like FL Studio or Abelton ???
Keyboard name please 😅
I am architect I still can't choose between two. Which one you suggest?
how do u know that it's already fully charged?
You: hello, how are you? I can speak very fast)
check out Right 'Bove Touch
So the MX Vertical feels cheap... ... but it feel premium... what?
I 've been using trackball mice for over 25 yrs now.
Thanks for the help, great tutorial!
For the ergo, do you need to install the software? Is it also Logitech options?
