The 2020 model is SO much better than their previous models but I feel like the 15W CPU holds it back a bit. At under 3 lbs, this thing is crazy light but how important is weight in your laptop purchase decision?
Just picked up the Costco version/ Has the 80WH battery..LG says, "up to 17 hours"...but it is nowhere near that no matter how many battery saving options I set...You said 9.5hrs and didn't even mention their apparently false claim...So, is this just something to be expected the mfg claim is always overhyped? Why would they tell me it has almost double the life it really has? I am getting 8-ish out of it with bright screen and\or keyboard lighting on. Keyboard lighting is either always on or always off.. I liked my Dell which would turn off the keyboard lighting after X seconds of non-use and back on at the touch of any key. Maybe that would help here. For as expensive as this is, the 17 hour run time was one of my primary reasons for purchasing it so I am disappointed it was a total lie.
LG GRAM 17 2021.........!!
costco had them on sale $1000 off. they were all sold out within 4 hours
I own LG Gram 14 and MacBook Pro(13 inch, 2020), but I always prefer LG gram because it is faster and lighter.
i wanna know if it survived the fall
Did you end up dropping the laptop? Lol
Sorry, but about the RAM, what does it mean that "you get 8GB onboard as well a single slot that you can upgrade"?
I can add 1 stick of RAM in addition to the 8GB that's already there and can't be removed?
What the maximum RAM that I can put in there?
Thanks in advance and thanks for the review
The reason why they give you the barrel jack charger is so that you can use the thunderbolt connector simultaneously.
I prefer the barrel plug charger, it leaves the usb-c free
they really should put in a 100Wh battery
You want a good deal on a Gram? Hit me up, we have hundreds of units :)
they should do LG 17 2 in 1
i want to upgrade my old lg laptop into a lg gram 17 in the future...
What is it with you guys flipping laptops.
40 seconds into this other review of the same laptop. https://youtu.be/5CRmlXOThNw
it hits the deck and apparently suffered absolutely no damage. This thing must be strong!
The regular charger is a bit of an issue. If the usb-c port is in use by a usb drive then you have to charge with the adapter, and you need to have it with you. If it had two usb-c ports then it could charge from one and still have a spare for an external drive etc. It's probably a cost thing and maybe leaving something for next year's model, but it's definitely a flaw for this year and a sales detractor. The Dell XPS has more usb-c's but it is much more expensive.
Awesome thorough review! Thank you!
1.35kg very light for 17inch laptop.
downvoted for the way he scraped it with the screwdriver.
I bought this laptop and first test results: it compiles code faster than my previous Dell XPS 15 with a i7-7700HQ, which is a 45w processor. Dell aggressively overclocks it first, but like a minute later it reaches 100 degrees and drops the CPU clock speed down to very low regions which is an approach which I hate. Dave also mentions this in other videos. LG gram seems to be able to keep turbo clock speeds much better with a 15w CPU, which is ridiculous.
Gobar chaudhry ke cheley. This is how you do a review https://youtu.be/Ido4AGPUukU
Made in which country?
Lg duniya ki sabse best conpany he tujhe sale saste ka nasa hoga
23.5 hours ka battery backup h bhai sahab 🤩🤩🤩
Kya chahiye or??
Dont buy this laptop..there is no service center for lg laptop in india...I bought 2019 model of lg gram and it stopped working after 6 months but no one can repair it because lg has no service center in india for laptop
Amazon India aur Flipkart par 1 Lakh ka hai. Aur 1 Lakh ke hisab se thik hai Business Laptop ke liye. Bahut kam Lapotop mein Thunderbolt 3 aata hai. RAM aur Storage bhi expandable hai. Aur ye Model 17Z90N hai, video description mein galat likha hai. Mere dost ne Flipkart se 70K ka liya hai yahi model.
bhai ek aur chig add kro
weight = 1/performance

It’s ok don’t worry about comments, you will get better ♥️
Good review, but you probably need to tell everyone what they don't know. You spoke about the features that we already know about. Your personal thoughts or something exciting about the device would have been appreciated. Planning to get one end of this year.
Did you try typing on the keyboard with it on your lap like a lot of ppl with laptops? My concern is that these have a weird keyboard that centers trackpad on laptop instead of on space bar and the whole keyboard is pushed left to allow the squished in mini 10-key. I am looking to buy this 15" LG gram but with the 11th gen i7 and Iris XE graphics but concerned about keyboard layout. No reviews seem to actually review typing on the laptop-- ironic?
Very slow guy.. a feeling by another slow guy
lol , it took you 10 minutes to open the laptop up.
skip to 11 minutes for him actually opening the laptop
Dude this was useless. I want to know about the laptop not your personal preferences and life story.
Talk too much ! I wasted my life here to watch him speaking over17:01 and still not turn on his laptop! How can he became a YouTuber ?!!!😡💩
Bad review. Boo!
You talk more than you show and expose
Too bad no have touch screen !
This was no good. You can't do unboxing videos. Instead, write a script and read the script while showing everything.
17 minutes but did not say anything important, sorry mate, but this is not a good review, speak important content not read the user manual that we already know.
Painful to watch
The microphone quality is bad, the background starts to loud!
Well it can be charged from USB Type-C, but I would have considered it buying, if it had no barrel charging. .Would like to see USB Type-C as standard in this laptop.
This week, I got my LG Gram 17 with the 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. First impressions:
1. It's light for a 17" laptop, but not crazy light. It's still a laptop.
2. The build quality is good. Reviewers show how flexible it is, but I don't think you'd notice it unless you look for it. The only thing I'd say is that the hinge is not quite as stiff as I would like. If you tried using it on a train or plane, it might bother you. On a desk it is stable.
3. The screen is glossy. (How I wish it was matt!) I got a screen protector to reduce the reflectivity, but I couldn't get it on without air bubbles (which I hate even more), so for now I'm living with the gloss. But it's fantastic having a 17" screen for productivity (and day trading). And it's clear and bright. It's overall a good panel.
4. Keyboard: It's okay, apart from a couple of differences from a standard UK keyboard layout. In particular: the way the "|" key is situated adjoining the Left Shift key; and the horizontal Return key (which means I sometimes hit the "#" key by mistake). But the typing experience is good so far.
5. Okay, so it's not a powerhouse. I bought it knowing that it would be fine for productivity, but not expecting to do anything particularly demanding.
6. It was a bit laggy on first use. I did a clean install of Windows... and now it's running perfectly.
7. The sound is okay. It's fine, if not anything special.
So far, I'm happy with my purchase, but these things I would change if I could redesign it for next year:
- matt screen (!)
- stiffer hinge
- slightly better, upward firing speakers
- keyboard layout
- an Ethernet port would be nice, rather than the Dongle provided...
- And a more powerful CPU would be nice. Ideally, a Ryzen CPU with their better integrated graphics would be fab.
I've been using the 2020 Gram 2n1 for 3 weeks now. Great laptop in every way except one. How come no one is talking about how HOT it gets when charging via TB port and USB-C cable? The area around the TB port and keyboard (left side near the port) gets around 110 F degrees. It is very hot to the touch. LG knows nothing about this. I ordered another Gram and it arrived today and SAME THING. Try it. Plug yours in for 10 mins, it will charge, but it will be very hot to the touch. My touchless thermometer shows between 100F to 110F around that port area and keyboard. I also tried the Acer Spin 5 and it did NOT get warm at all, same charger and cable. I would think this kind of heat isn't good for the electronics and battery over time. I want to keep this thing but man, the heat is bad. The regular AC adapter charges fine and you don't get any heat. And by the way this is charging with the laptop OFF it still gets hot with the USB-C, around 110F deg. If anyone thinks this is normal chime in. Thanks.
can charge on usb c?
I have good experience with lg laptops .. they are good
Are the speakers good? You said they are ok but can you get them to a reasonable volume to hear movies without a tingy sound?
I thought there's no Thunderbolt on the LG Gram 2-in-1, just a USB-C port.
Did anyone else notice the copy of 'Why Do Men Have Nipples?' in the background at 1:46?
How about after sales service...
DON'T BUY IT!. I had an issue with mine, it has been 45 days and LGE does not even know where is my laptop. This is the worst possible customer services that I ever had in my life, so I can only advise everyone to avoid LG on the USA. Just don't
is there a way to set up the LG laptop in a way so the keyboard's backlight would switch off automatically after few seconds?
YOU HAVE A 2020 VER?
(I know beacuse it have a thunderbolt and gen 10 intel cpu sticker)
Why so many stickers Lg? I hate them
Are you sick Josh?
Good video. Only one USB C/TB3 port? There should be at least two, and get rid of that barrel connector for power.
The music is too loud
If they change the screen to 16:10 and put usb-C charging as standard (yes, you can use the usb-C for charging but the standard is barrel plug) then it will be a lot better than it already is.
How is it for web development, graphic design, digital marketing ?
