Love you buddy
Brilliant review, very talented!
Hi @ TechReflex please can you advise i have this monitor but it is only showing at 30Hertz?
I have one its actually the best 4k monitor there is... why? It has the higer dpi (185)there is ,most sharp image there is .dell have same one only they have 300 cmd vs 250 on the one you are reviewing
Is it good for the ps5,siddarth?
Can I play in 4K on Xbox series x with this monitor
What is the advantage of getting this monitor together with a thunderbolt hub (and speakers) verses getting the lg 24" ultrafine 4k monitor which has 2 thunder bolt and 3 usbc ports and speakers built in! Does the ultrafine monitor provide a better visual display over this model? Which approach would be most economical? Thanks.
I know a 4k monitor will make text and images sharper than the full HD, but will it also make them smaller?
4k disappoints. Had this for months. 4k blu ray or gaming, you get scale-like patterns on your resolution. Colors are not vibrant. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. If your expectations are low, this works. But if you bought it for a solid 4k experience, I highly can not recommend. Also not being HDR, tou wont take advantage of 4k UHD blu ray disks
Is it 144hz?
do you think it would work with android iptv box? ?
Please suggest good 27 inch QHD/4K Monitor (Budget Max 25k) primarily for WFH,Programming,Reading and some times Games ,Video Editing
You have great knowledge keep it up 👍
hi bhai i am at your channel from 35k
Nice review! I have a 2020 MacBook Pro and decided to buy a dual 1080p monitor setup because I needed more screen real estate. I get massive eye strain from these monitors though when programming. I think my issue is that my eyes are completely used to a high PPI, as both my phone and my tablet are also really high PPI. I am also used to sitting close to my screen, which at 1080p is really bad. I think I will give this 4k monitor a try and hopefully this can fix my eye strain.
Very good review my friend. What's the best 24" 4K right now for mostly productivity like photo/video editing, youtube, amazon streaming, and some gaming? I am looking to upgrade my LG 1080p 24" monitor. Cheers.
sir, i liked the content. Your voice and pitch is just perfect. Best Wishes
Finally someone talking logical.....
24" is for 1080p it sucks for 4k resolution... Try for 27" and above if planning to buy 4k... you'll get better display space and good pixel density
Can i connect my PS4 to this monitor and also can i connect any wired headphone to this monitor.
Hi @Lon.TV please can you advise i have enabled HDMI Deep Colour mode but my display is still showing as 30 Hertz?
Got this monitor recently! I've been very, very pleased with it for my 4K needs.
1080p still looks great on it, doesn't look blurry like I'd thought.
DisplayPort cables are essential, you probably can't get 4k 60hz output over HDMI unless it's a very new device; HDMI will likely limit you to 30hz.
To get the best visuals I find you should turn up the brightness, have about 60 contrast, Super Resolution+ off, Sharpness 50, Black Level HIgh, HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color On, DFC Off, Response Time Off, Black Stabilizer 75, but most important is the Color Adjustment.
I use gamma 1, Color Temp custom with red at 88, green at 88, and blue at 100. These values are usually set pretty low resulting in a lack of vibrancy or accuracy.
I'm not wanting a monitor to play games, I'm wanting to use it with a MacBook or iPad. Would this be a good monitor for that?. With 3840 x 2160 resolution will letters and images be smaller on this than on a 1920 x 1080 display? Or would the text just be sharper?
so will it work for ps5? i am wondering?
The viewing angles are pretty bad for an IPS panel, in fact horizontal angles are worse than some TN panels, to be honest.
How many FPS does it support? Answer please
Do you need a special cable or something for the 4k resolution? I wanna buy this when the ps5 and xbx arrive so I wanna how it works. Thank you.
Hi Lan. After watching this video i think i just found my purchase decision. so i will connect it with my MacBook air laptop with the HDMI cable and my USB-C HUB. Thank you
if you hook up a monitor with a Display port cable, will the USB ports on the monitor be active?
How much brightness it have?
I can't even use my almost 2x more expensive 1440p Dell UtraSharp :) This is a very good buy (almost 1 year now, got it for little more than 200 euros, less than 300 dollars). Gave that 1440p to my son, so that he can play games at a nice resolution (4K for games is still overkill, because GPU's can't get it cheaply and easily). I don't understand why people keep saying that for less than X inches more that Y resolution is not worth it... Especially if we are talking desktop equipment that will not consume battery time. Trust me, you will not want anything less than 4K even on 24 inches. I don't think that at 24/25 more is necessary. But as soon you are talking sitting close to a monitor you use all day for work, if you have, say, 32 inches of diagonal, you will want 8K. For me, in terms of resolution, will be 4K at
Is this good for video watching.
Sorry to bother you at this time but is this compatible with Gsync ?
Input lag for gaming mode? I ordered this for shooters and I'm starting to regret it.
It is 72% NTSC not sRGB. For the sRGB it's 99%
To get to the service menu, follow these steps:
From a normal powered on state, turn off the monitor (on my monitor you press in the joystick for the menu then pull it "down" towards you).
While the monitor is off, tap the joystick left three times and then right one time.
Power on the monitor by pressing in the joystick momentarily; wait for it to start.
Press in the joystick momentarily to open the menu and then tap the joystick left to open the settings menu. If you performed this correctly, the service menu will open instead of the regular settings menu.
The service menu operates like the normal menus, with up/down moving through the list and left/right changing the highlighted setting. Pressing in the joystick seems to dismiss the menu. There isn't much documentation on the settings so exercise caution and keep in mind you risk bricking your monitor.
I want to purchase a monitor to share between a MacBook pro and a PC/console gamming, it looks good for gamming at 1080p?
At the risk of sounding like an idiot, can I use my PS4 Pro on the monitor?
Hi can you please tell if there is any backlight bleeding at a dark room ?
i cant get freesync to work. when i go to the amd radeon settings it says not available
why do i need a really good dongle?
Hi Kevin Please can you advise @reviewsbykevin i have enabled Deep Colour mode but why is my Monitor still only showing 30 Hertz?
@reviewsbykevin Kevin, I have a Mac Pro early 2015. It has a thunderbolt port and an HDMI. What cable should I use to connect it to the display? Do I need that mini dock? Or should I use a DP to HDMI and plug the DP into the monitor and the HDMI into the computer? Right now I just have it HDMI to HDMI. If the way I have it is good, should I get an upgraded HDMI cable?
If the MacBook Air display isn't 4k, do you still get 4k quality when attached to this monitor?
Thanks, very useful review!
This is a very helpful video. I'm preparing to buy either a new macbookair or mac mini and I'm looking at external monitors. 24" is my preference. I've looked at the one you reviewed but also a LG 24 4k that has 2 thunderbolt ports and 2 or 3 USB c ports. It will power the mac while feeding visual and sound to the monitor (all through one cable) But that monitor costs $700! I could buy the one you reviewed plus a nice thunder bolt hub for several hundered dollars less. Do you believe the visual quality (I do sermons, articles, and a web site) of the 24UD58-B would be as good as that of the more expensive lg ultrafine model (24MD4KL)?
Thank you for review! You help me to decide!
Thanks for your review. Not sure what MacOS version you were using at the time of your review. Is the scaling still an issue with Catalina or Big Sur?
Great review, thanks! One question - When connected to a MacBook Pro, to what degree does the monitor render the text/fonts as smooth and crisp as in the MacBook Pro ?
By text, I mean working with Word, Excel, PDFs.
This is spot on for me: first review I've found that touches the topic of PPI and scaling
Looking for a monitor mainly for reading/writing text that is crisp, not too small nor too big
Most models focus either on one of the following 1) gaming and high refresh rates; these are usually a low 1080p or 1440p, 2) ultrawides with disappointing DPI, 3) photo/video editing with high colour accuracy
I was looking for an affordable -preferrably compact- high DPI monitor and there aren't that many around TBH, and if you do find one, you'll be overpaying for stuff you don't need.
The 24UD58-B, I simply cannot find it new anymore (27" is). Would there be a follow-up model? there's none on LG's website except the Ultrafine...at more than double the price
You put this monitor now on my first choice to buy. My first monitor. Thank you for your honest explanation.
I'm confused. Why does the monitor you are talking about look like a bloke with glasses and a beard?
“You can’t fractionally scale on current version of macOS, my coworker downgraded”... JFC. So much misinformation in this vid. You just hold the option key while clicking the scaled button in displays in System Prefs.
The LG Ultrafine 4K with Thunderbolt 3 is much better than this monitor in every way... This is a good budget monitor, with some major trade offs, but it’s hardly “the best Mac 4K monitor period”
I'd love to love this monitor as much as you do but I've just bought one and it won't display 4k, In my (brand new) new mac mini display system prefs the default for display is just 1920 x 1080. I've spoken to apple and to Lg and they cant help! any ideas? I've even done factory reset on my mac. As it is its an average and disappointing display
Great review, Kevin. It was worth sitting through that bit of rambling because you addressed one of my main concerns. I'm getting this monitor on Monday. Definitely 24 inches is better because of pixel density. Thanks for posting.
Ok I came across this and learned something new, but want some clarification... I'm looking at either a 27" or 32" 4K monitor. I currently have a 27" 1440p monitor and I like the size of text etc, could even go a bit smaller but not too much. So, if I'm hearing you right, it sounds like in Mac OS it will scale 100% or 200% okay- meaning... full res, or 1080p? I agree that 1080p resolution on a 27 is too big, so does that mean I'm probably better off getting a 32" monitor and running it at 100% / full resolution (3840x2160)? Hopefully my long question makes sense... thanks for the video- very helpful!
great review dude ty.
I tried this monitor. The colors are bad, It has not enough brightness
This is like the best review I seen! Just a shame this resulotion/budget thing keeps me down at 24 inch since I love 27. But definatelly great monitor.
At this resolution is it "scaled" automatically when used with mac so the images/writing isn't too small?
The screen layer feels weak... If u press on the screen the layer goes inside a bit
Hi, I now want to mount it on TV stand, how do I get rid of the stand at the back?
Does this monitor have internal speakers? Got mine today, connected my ps4 but have no audio through hdmi
wheres the full review? how is it one year on?
Their price is mad
The "flip-to-on" feature of your watch is a bit distracting... ;-) Otherwise your vids are spot on. Thanks! :-)
Msi geforce gtx 1060 for this will be good?
LED or LCD?
Hi, which one i must choose, hdmi or displayport for best performnce? (FYI, i use 1050 ti, output hdmi 2.0b n displayport 1.4)
Im buying this to watch movies. Costs $375 in India.
Looking forward to the review
This is the Lenovo replacement?
Looking forward to the full review. Thanks
Man, I bet the images will really look sharp at that size. Can't wait for the full review!
4k at 24 inches? 😕
