thank you for the nice review. However, I didn't like that you explicitely mentioned netflix and 1080p in one sentence because this is just wrong. While the device is perfectly capaple of displaying 1080p videos on youtube or twitch it only has widevine security level 3. This prevents the device from displaying any HD content or beyond on netflix or amazon prime so you will only be able to watch in SD quality on netflix which I think is really sad given this beautiful 1080p IPS display.
Bad device, terrible performance, blueish screen... auto brightness is broken and full of glitches. Guess why video never shows os and how laggy it is....

How does it accomplish full screen 1080p content? The screen is actually 1920 x 1200, not 1920 x 1080. In order to display 1080 content, it must be doing one of three things: 1) letterboxing (putting black bands above and/or below totaling 120 pixels in width), 2) upscaling from 1920 x 1080 to about 2133 x 1200 but then cropping off about 106 pixels off each side, or 3) upscaling from 1920 x 1080 to 1920 x 1200 so you don't lose any material on the sides but which would make things appear too skinny, for example, by about 11%. This seems fairly important. The screen is not the right "shape" for HD content. How it deals with that is interesting.

Oh and it would be nice to see how this performs against the Fire HD 8. If you want to compare it to the Fire HD 10 you should probably compare the Fire HD 10 to the Lenovo m10 tablet. The Lenovo M8 FHD is way better than the Fire HD 8 and the M8FHD hasn’t been $160 almost since it’s been out! It was $99 at Christmas and I just got it today for $103 directly from Lenovo. Great tablet and a great buy!
I kinda wished you would have shown some standard web browsing. I appreciate all the gaming but I’m not buying this to be a Nintendo switch. I’d like to know how it handles Word, email, photo apps, Google apps, kindle app, and web browsing.
There's no point in streaming full hd, it would've been better to play full hd video straight from the tablet to see how it handles it.

It s slow as f for a 2020 tablet, laaaags a lot. It uses a mediatek low spec processor. The display is not very responsive, when I play wot blitz I have to touch the screen 2-3 times to get it to work, with graphics at medium it can only do 30-40 fps, I have to put all grapics to low to get 50-60 fps. My 4 yrs old ipad mini has no issues there, it s still lighting fast compared to the lenovo. It can only do hd ready on netflix and amazon prime, but it runs at full hd 1080 p on youtube. Batery is good. U can update it to Android 10. Performance wise this looks more like a 2014-2015 model with 3gb of ram added. I was expecting more from Lenovo. Save a bit more and get a decent model
This is the issue. I want a tablet under 10 but over 7. Here's the 8. Perfect. Any spec increases are appreciated and an attractive price benefit alternative to an iPad Mini. I use an iPhone SE 2020, but I'm not paying the big bucks for the iPad just to run iMessage and then get no cool emulators, hacks, etc.

This could be a great review, but in my opinion there is too much emphasis on gaming (which I am and maybe some other people are not interested in at all), but you do not say anything about the cameras or how the sound is when listening with head phones...
I've just seen a sale at lenovo $97 until 11/2. I think I'll skip it I really want usb-c my self and just bought the m10 plus but nows an oppotunity for others.

Currently $100 on Amazon and your comparing it to devices that are way over that. Sweaty hands is not everyone's experience, non issue. Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 (2.4/5 GHz) not too common at this price. Speakers? Who uses built in speakers for music? With 5000mAh battery, I've seen batteries between 1000 and 1500mAh in this price range. Sounds like a great 8" Tab to me.

The speed is much better than i expected but the battery is not as great. It drains really fast. Is that your experience? I turned off location, turned off auto sync.

Lenovo Tab M8 FHD vs Xiaomi Mi Pad 4?
I like to think there is still a market for lower-end tablets, with the Amazon Fire Tablets always selling enough for them make a new 7in,8in,or 10in one every year. This Lenovo seems like a decent competitor to those Amazon Fire tablets for the screen and 3gb ram alone. Too bad about the Micro-USB port though, almost everything I use is USB-C now.
Would you recommend the Lenovo tab m8 over the VANKYO MatrixPad S10? Im looking for a tablet under $100 for my mother that does a little gaming. Thanks:)

The front facing camera on this is pixelated. I wouldn’t recommend any zoom calls on it. You’ll look like you’re staring at a bathroom mirror just right after showering
