Three reco´s: 1) Take that shitty filter off from the laptop´s bottom, is total garbage you will see a drop in temperatures and will let you push a GPU OC further. 2) Don´t know if you had already did it or not but you can take the anti-glare plastic-filter off the screen, colors will be much more vibrant and you will have a better brightness overall. 3) Try overboosting that CPU & Unpark all the cores, it really makes a difference in benchmarks. Been using the Y700 for almost 5 years now.

Yeah this is one hardcore laptop. Not only have I had it since the release date (almost) but mine has been running on the crypto tab browser mining bitcoin for over a year solid and no issues whatsoever.

I have one of these y700's and it's a slow piece of shit, the 960mgtx is not powerful enough for the processor and bottlenecks it. Load times into windows is so slow, clicking to open programs is very unresponsive. Would never buy a Lenovo again and I have tried all of the recommendations about how to get this laptop running at decent speeds but it makes no difference. My desktop i5 2500k with an R9 380 pisses all over this Lenovo.

Hi, I have this laptop since 2016, and I am experiencing issues downloading new windows update. It turns out my BIOS was updates, but I've only been able to upgrade the BIOS to the june 2017 version. Is it because of the model or I just look for it properly?

This video is old but I wanted to share my experience with removing the Anti-Glare film. I've had my 4K 15" Touch Y700 for about two years now and have been happy with it as far as performance goes. Being heavily into photography and looking at my camera LCD and external monitor, I noticed immediately that the colors were off on the laptop, casting a greenish/yellow hue. I read that this is the case with botht the 4K and FHD models. I tried using the in-computer color calibration tools in the computer but couldn't get it right. I even bought a ColorMunki color calibrator but I still wasn't happy with the post-calibration results. I read that the the Anti-Glare film was the cause of the bland and greenish yellow hued colors. Initially I didn't want to remove due to warranty concerns at that time. I finally bit the bullet and removed the Anit-Glare film last night. As mentioned in a few other forums (including this one), I used a blow dryer. Started at a corner that gave me the most free play and used an exacto knife to life the corner. I tried a credit card at first but even after heating the corner with the hair dryer it didn't just pop up as I expected. I carefully slid the exacto knife under the film and was able to pull about an inch of the film away from the screen. At that point, I simply ran the hair dryer (on low setting) back and forth while pulling away (in the opposite corner direction) of the film. I took my time. The film was stuck pretty good on there and the only way it gave way was when I had the hair dryer on there for about 2 minutes at a time. The whole process only took me about 20-25 minutes. I think it could be cut down to 10-15 but I only pulled away at the film when there was less resistance, to ensure the screen would be damaged, or no residue would be left. The film itself is fairly thick (as you can see from the cutout hole around the webcam). The glossy screen underneath is beautiful. No gummy/adhesive residue at all. Looks sharper and colors are definitely not a "fix" for the laptop's color issues. It is definitely an improvement though. After I removed the film, I used the Color Calibration tool on the laptop and matched it to colors on my SLR (5D Mark IV) and my other monitor, to where I was satisfied. I actually ended up using the color profile (ICC file) found online: The touch function works fine, but because the screen is now glassy, there is more resistance when swiping, especially if you have sweaty something to keep in mind. I did notice a bit more glare on the glossy screen, but haven't been in a high-glare environment yet to see how bad it gets.

hard drive partition disappeared in file explorer and does not show up in disk management I have Lenovo ideapad Y700 15isk laptop (1TB HDD - 256 SSD), when I upgrade windows 7 to windows 10 I manage my hard drive in to three partitions namely [ Local Disk (C:) , Local Disk (E:) , Local Disk (F:) ]. My laptop works safely with those partition for a year but suddenly two partitions [ Local Disk (E:) , Local Disk (F:) ] disappeared. How can I allocate my hard drive partition for it disappeared in file explorer and does not show up in disk management, I just try to reinstall window 10, system restore, disk part command, third party software, thinking if it works but nothing changed at all. It seems I give up at last and to keep work with only [ Local Disk (C:) 237 GB ]. Thanks for your help!

This is the biggest piece of crap I've ever owned. It spent half it's life in the shop and the other half failing so it gets put back into the shop. Everything failed at one time or another EXCEPT THE keyboard, but the ram shorted out on the keyboard. The display system fails, Ram, networking, memory, hard drive after hard drive. I will NEVER buy a Lenovo again. EVER! CRAP! Absolute crap. I'm a hardware technician and have worked on thousands of motherboards. This motherboard is crap. CRAP! Have I made my point? hahahah crap

watch your temps with the latest games. I have to throttle the CPU to 70 percent which takes the load off both CPU and GPU. Even then, I get fairly decent frame rates. Without throttling, temps quickly go past the red line no matter how much cooling.

I have one and it’s amazing but the w key fell off well now I use a keyboard with it so it’s no problem and I recommend a usb hub since the lack of USB ports this thing is a great laptop choice and can run the popular games while maintaining good response there is hardly lag but that depends on connection to Ethernet or WiFi gaming router recommended

Umm. I have one of these and it runs out of battery all of the time.
I buy it, this is from the real user. This shet cant even run google properly, took me 5 minutes to open google. Took me 15 minutes to restart or start up. Most importantly, cant edut stuff, literally crash after i start premier pro. So after i buy it and though it was the perfect pc for my life. I had to edit on my old pc.
I've had this laptop for about 4 years now. I'd rate it a 4/5. There are frequent lag spikes when playing CSGO and lag on other games.
Can I remove the graphics card?

I have the 17 inch version. Traded my gaming rig for it. Worth it. Sure it is a downgrade in graphics and somewhat cpu it is worth the trade. Still like new. Have to get used of spanish keyboard layout but can learn. But i wish the mouse pad was on the right side of the laptop since it is a gaming laptop.
Did you know this laptop can handle NVME SSD, which is a BIG improvement compared to stock performance. Hope this helps for those users upgrading their Y700. Cheers ;) like to see spyder pro 5 display files to fix the monitor
I own this one and it is a pure beast at his price. For those who are looking for editing, this might be the one if u dont care the portability as it is heavy. It can run PS smoothly and it could even run Premiere pro @1080p editing. I'm not sure about 4k cuz I havent done one. For gamers, it run most games, but some games like, farcry 5, you will have frame rate drops and lags.

Honetly I'm doing everyone a favour here DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE , the GPU, CPU, RAM and every other spec looks great on this machine, but don't be fooled. This computer has been put together so badly it's unreal. I bought it it 8 months ago and it has died 5 times. 1) Mother board defect 2) power connection failure 3) charger failure 4) power connection failure again 5) don't know what it is this time but looks like another power issue. utter waist of money
