absolutely do not buy or even consider this laptop. in any config. it’s slow, laggy, and extremely unreliable. i had one with an i7, 8 gigs of ram, and a radeon 530. the set of problems i experienced in 3 years of owning this junk: 1- boot up could take anywhere from 15-30 minutes 2- shuts off on its own completely randomly 3- random screen flicker especially at higher brightness levels 4- performance is horrible even when doing light tasks like opening or editing a word document 5- battery life is an absolute joke and only gets way worse after the first year 6- laptop would randomly and completely hang, the screen would turn black, and the only way to fix that is to turn it off with the power button and since it was my main machine, it has caused me a great deal of headaches and distress, alongside losing a lot of valuable time and work. half of the time i spent on this laptop was just maintaining it and trying to fix the random problems that would appear out of nowhere.
Have this laptop for 3 years now, with i5 8250u, 8 gb ram, nvidia MX150, 256 gb ssd, and it works absolute well even for the some engeenering apps like AutoCAD and so on. Great Laptop for its price

This was the worst purchase I ever made back in 2018. I had nothing but issues with that piece of junk machine. It was the slowest hunk of junk I have ever owned, lagged more than actually did anything and eventually ended up getting cracked in half across my knee with very litter effort, and is on its way to the landfill. I even tried upgrading the RAM and did nothing more to increase performance. My mother recently upgraded her laptop, and gave me her old one. I am using a 10 year old gateway NV53A from 2010 that has more power and stability than that POS sorry excuse for a laptop. I installed more RAM and bought a new battery pack for it and it works fantastic! I will never own a Lenovo product as long as I live, THAT is for sure!

I use an i7 version of this laptop with the nvidia graphics card. I have upgraded it to a 2Tb ssd and added a 16gb ram upgrade (for 20gb ram total as 4gb is soldered) it’s has amazing performance and works really well for video editing, 3d modelling and the 17.3inch screen model that I have is also good for gaming. If you get the chance to pick up the higher spec models I would, if you want to use it for gaming don’t get anything less than the Nvidia version It is a bit cheap and plastic but that’s fine and the 17.3 inch model is rather a bit too large if you want to carry it about.

Hey guys I'll save you the hastle. Stay clear, Lenovo build absolute poor quality junk, I had this laptop from them and after about 6 months it started freezing, and it recently needed a complete factory reset after it crashed. I only use it for basic work (so hasn't had anything strenuous on it). Pure garbage, I will never be buying anything from Lenovo again.
