Interesting comparison. Of the three, I only have the KSC75 (which I have modded a little) they hold their own well even against significantly more expensive headphones. They generally lack the detail of higher end headphones, but the signature is good for pretty much anything I've used them for. They do have a decent level of detail, too, but you can only do so much on a budget, I guess.
I have a tip on how to put them on easily: Try it like with glasses, with the ends of the clips going behind your ears. Then you can just rotate them into position. Once you do it a couple of times, it becomes quite natural and very fast.
I'm thinking of getting the KPH30i with some earcups thanks for clearing up some of my questions.
Kph30i with grado pads are significantly better than any headphones youll find under 160 dollars, not counting IEMs of course.
I have the Porta Pros and the KSC75 and I agree the KSC75 is better sounding. You should try the Parts Express mod on the KSC75 if you don't like the clip on design. Also, you should try the Koss Sporta Pro. They say it sounds even better than the KSC75s but I don't own one so I dunno. :)
ksc75... with a good cable or a good receiver, their schedule is smoother... для этого нужно возле делителя отрезать кабель и вместо него припаять штекер и затем можно пользоваться хорошим удлинителем или хорошим ресивером...
I've seen a lot of reviews of people showing pictures of their KPH30i's breaking. Especially on Amazon. That's the only thing stopping me from buying them. I don't want to spend money on something that's gonna snap so easily. Durability is really important to me. I want something that's gonna last for years, not months. Are they still the best option?
You want headphones that are a little bass heavy for portable players. Turning up the bass on your portable player will kill your batteries. Bass takes power to produce and a little portable player amplifier struggles to produce big sound on batteries. Having headphones that naturally produce some bass will give you big sound without eating the batteries up.
Parts Express Mini Stereo Headphones + Drop KSC75 + Yaxi Pads = $39
Those PortaPros are legit good for hearing that punch always feel so damn good
Great video man. One question, is it just me or the KSC75 requiere more volume compared to the Porta Pro? The voices sound crispier but I need to turn the volume like 20-30% up compared to the Porta Pros, maybe it’s the more open back? Or do headphones with more bass sound louder? Anyways, I’ve owned the Porta Pros for more than two years know and love them. About a month ago I got the KSC75 and they’re indeed impressive, the best way to describe them is as airy, the soundstage is notorious and the male voices pop out, you can hear your favorite music and hear details you didn’t know were there. For the price, they’re unbeatable.
Thanks in advance man!
KSC75's. Remove stock mold on wire ear clip. Replace with soft tubing. Not interested in sacrificing highs or clarity with 30i's.
Hey i saw on the listing that the impedance of porta pros is 60 ohms. Would you recommend this for casual phone listening?
Josh Velour gave them an outstanding review, and then graded them a “D” on his new “list”. It is such a betrayal. It is like game of thrones. They can’t believe he did this to them. They feel so screwed over.
Nobody likes the KSC75 as is. Anybody who swears by them has replaced the ear loops with a PartsExpress or Porta Pro headband.
21 minutes is so much for me. Please simplify your videos. We are looking for only less sentences
Porta Pro were outdated when they first came out and only worn by deaf nerds. But now they are vintage and their sound has become fantastic. Joke. The KPH30i is horrible, unconfortable and sounding loud and terrible. Why all the reviews ? Koss has showered reviewers with the goodies. Don't buy any of these bad sets unless you are deaf and can tolerate to look ridiculous and live in unconfort. No it is not true that any of these sets hold their own compared to similarly priced headphones because there a tens of headphones in the same price range that are a lot better. But I guess they failed to send some free samples to reviewers.
KSC75 with the Yuin G1/G2 headband is my set of choice. No mod, just a better headband does the job
The ksc75s sound incredible for the price until the cable inevitably breaks
The $5 shipping on Massdrop is international only US is still free.
I feel like people are playing a joke by recommending these and Porta Pros.
unfortunately these headphones do not have a microphone
Can you do an revisit of this headphones? as you did with the Koss portapros :D
RIP to the king 🙏🏻
I seriously can’t believe Etikas gone we need him rn
I got them for 14 dollars free shipping with amazon prime.
Great review. Thanks.
They are alot better if you do a headband mod. I actually think the best on-ears of this style were the Sony MDR 210's. Much more mellow, warm sound. The Koss headphones are colder and brighter.
Can you recommend me something under 30$ with bass and clarity I had wasted my money on Rha s500😓
I try to find Bluetooth versions of em. They are expensive
Kiss Porta pro have better bass
I had these a year ago. They sounded great, but one side stopped working after a few weeks and then a few weeks later I tripped and the wire literally pulled straight out of the other headphone. I’d go for something else, unless you just want something temporary
Does it work on PC?
I will be using a pair of these in place of the off-ear headphones that are part of the Oculus Rift S. Because the Rift S audio port doesn't support the third ring for mics, I want to get something to replace the (even worse) built-in mic. Any suggestions for a Bluetooth mic suitable for gaming?
this with blue snowball ice good for casual gaming and discord under 100$??
I got an old audio receiver with inbuilt headphone amp from my parents (Sony STR-DE485E) (Before I ran audio through my cheap motherboard). The Headphone Jack was a 6.3, so my plan was the following: Buy a 6.3 to 3.5 adapter with Koss KPH30i. I just received my stuff and turned on Mirror by Porter Robinson (Generally quite inspirational and emotional music) and... I CRIED! IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! It sounded way better than compared to any other headphone I used before (Multiple In Ears, Sennheiser HD450BT (150€) and some generic Sony Headphones). HOW??? I never understood why audiophile sound could make someone cry, and I still dont understand why exactly I started crying, but HOLY SHIT.
Now when I eventually give away my HD450BT and theyre gonna ask me why, I can answer you dont understand and they see me use 30€ ugly af headphones hooked up to some old audio receiver
I cannot buy them here in Austria. I would love to try them.
I would buy like 3, for my friends and stuff, BUT its not avaviable in austria, and never has been. Portapros are tho.
I absolutely love my Porta Pro's. You're telling me these are better??
it's the same driver as koss porta pro. any difference comes from enclousure probably
Thanks to this video I bought already 9. 5 gray, 3 blue 1 beige. The perfect gift to people who head music at all.
I'm a total noob in hifi. Decided to try these. And these are legit the best headphones i've ever heard.
I'm starting to understand this "sound scene" thing everyone is talking about. It's like sounds are not coming from 2 nuggets on your ears, but from different points in space all around you.
It's like "surround sound" button in some PC soundcards drivers, but actually sounds good.
Got an extra pair for modding. I think they sound better when i wear them over a beanie, so i guess thicker pads can improve them.
I thought Koss was a shitty brand you find a big lots
i got these recently along with the KSC75 and i did not like them at all using them on my little dot 1+ and after getting frustrated with them for over 30 minutes i plugged them into my ipod and they just instantly became good. For some reason I just cant use these on anything else or I hate them.
ok, you're enthusiastic... but I still don't know how they sound. Can you describe the sound in terms that deal with the actual sound you think you hear? I like your reviews.. but would appreciate if you'd make an effort to be more precise and concise.
They are really these, and the best headphones in the world. I thanks you for the this.
Awesome Thanks Zeos, they sounded miles better than my Grado 60e's straight out of the box. does anybody know if they noticeably improve when run in?
Hi Koss, Any idea if or when Massdrop is gonna do another drop? They have 6,600 requests! I want to get a couple sets. Also can you me tell if these need an amp? The impedance seems a bit high-ish?
They are the biggest shock I have had from headphones so far amazing...❗️❤️✌️💯
Yooooo Z. These things sound like garbage compared to the Porta Pro. I can't believe people are recommending these so hard. The bass response that you get from the Porta Pro is completely absent in the KPH30i. I haven't tried the pad mod yet but I'm not expecting miracles when this is completed soon.
Edit: Nevermind. The 3 pole connector is not playing well with the 1/4" TRS adapter I'm using. If the insertion depth is not just right, the driver connection gets cut short. These *do* sound just as amazing as the Porta Pros. The 3 pole mic connector means that I'm going to need to perform a cable mod at the same time I swap in the Grado pads.
I love how Z Reviews started this video with FUCK YOU KOSS!
Shure, Sennheiser and Westone: We offer high quality gear at inflated prices.
KOSS: Haha, KPH30i go brrrr and they are fuck all budget!
Did you get demonetized though?
I bought these on a whim because of this video. My two cents: I find them to be really sharp and sibilant, especially in treble and upper midrange, but you can smooth them off with minor equalization. There is no deep bass to speak of (unsurprisingly), but drum hits can have a pretty satisfying little snap to them and I think the dynamics can actually kind of "fake" bass at times, can't explain it much better than that. The real magic with these is probably using them for acoustic and vocal stuff though, things that aren't too intense. There is an abundance of detail there, almost a Sennheiser level of "layers upon layers", and in that regard they're a great little introductory headphone for the price. I think they'd be pretty taxing to listen to for any length of time though, and I see why modding is appealing, just a bit of bass would really go a long way. Are they one of the greatest headphones ever? No. But they are probably the most detailed version imaginable of "cheap as dirt headphones", just go in with realistic expectations.
Bought these for $20 and am running an EQ on my laptop to alter the bass, mids, and highs. It’s so damn good!
Where my Joycon boyz at?
I'll headband mod my ksc75 because I wear glasses
Are these better than the Sennheiser PC360?
I've always been a fan of KSC75 headphones. They're great. Just bought me a pair of the KSC75X. I'm getting them tomorrow in the mail. I wear them on my walks/jogs.
Give us mmcx or KSC75 true wireless bt.
Idk how long ago I got this video as an ad, but ive finally caved and bought them
I got mine yesterday, stayed up late hearing music I used to listen to. I might buy a few more pairs in case they get discontinued or I grow more ears.
And I found your channel looking for reviews of these, when I saw on Amazon that there are mods and a community for $20 earphones.
Love the channel !!!
He listens music too loud. :(
I picked the KPH30i, because I don't like things hanging from my ear. BUT I do want to mod one of these with BLUETOOTH :D
“The sound stage is infinite”
One second later
“I’ve heard wider sound stage”
To infinity and beyoooond!
Zeos is Buzz frickn lightyear
I hate things in my ears (too many ear infections growing up) and headband style headphones don't fit in a purse. Clip ons have been my headphone of choice but I wish they would do like airpods where they're completely wireless and independent little speakers
Edit to add, make them pretty and they double as hair clips lol
You could sound test them, but the equipment probably costs a lot. I’m definitely going to try these!
cant find the ksc75x in brazil, is the original ksc75's worth it?
Now they're $25. Thanks anyway
was thinking of getting these for vr. Thoughts?
Why would make me get more things that are awesome???
I bought them at 24 euros. WoW they sound GREAT.
Mmcx connector where are you, it's been a whole year??
How would these do as VR headset (Oculus Quest2) headphones?
