The volca bass is better
Can someone please tell me if you can practice on this with headphones? I like staying awake at night but others might not be so grateful of my headlining enigmatic adventures through the beer and smoke filled festival in my head. Otherwise, what's the point.

I don't know man. I have checked it out. All can be replicate with real drum and as least $99 a piece guitar fx pedal, rock solid stepped on, throw at metallic casing and 9 V battery/AC DC kind of thing
or guitar pedal with mic input real drum trigger module? then it really come close to rock band and live performance, a few $ more? anyone? and tu papa and bode as reward after?

I don't get why you would get a Korg Volca Beats Machine when a Korg Volca sample doesn't limit the amount of different sounds you can have on it? For instance the disliked snare?

I'm sorry. I really gave it a shot. I watched a little over five minutes into the video and I don't hear the quality in these sounds. It just sounds a little cheap to me. Not trying to be insulting.

This machine can fit great for few specific 70s and 80s styles that implemented similar compact drum machines: Synthpop, Space Lounge, New Wave, Acid House, Chicago House, New Beat, IDM, downtempo. In post 1990 dance genres not so much, it sounds too soft and you can't do much effect processing due to mono output. Once you get it, think about doing snare mod, a minor modification that requires soldering one capacitor to board - it improves snare sound quite a lot.

Dear Mr/Mrs Korg. Any chance of a firmware update for the Volca Beats that 1/2: fixes the PPQ/global settings issue which prevents swing being transmitted to a Beats from a device with swing. 2/2: makes the Beats's "Stepjump" behave the same way as that on the Volca Drum.
