I opened my case and verified the person that installed my memores did it on single channel using b1 and b2. If I want to change it to Dual channel all I need to do is... stick the one in B1 at A2? My motherboard is a z490g GAMING -wifi

Still helpful in 2021. I recently built a i5-4570 for my home recording studio, and light gaming (nothing more demanding than American Truck Simulator) during breaks. It currently has 8gb ddr 1333 CL9. For me, it seems another 16gb of quality CL 9 ddr3 is the best option.

lmao DDR5 is on the way right now and everyone is running 3200Mhz dimms in DDR4 some dimms will actually hit 5k or more in some instances we can get latencies in the single digits as well

Could you be so kind to help me to clear my confusion? I have a Dell Inspiron 5675 with one 8GB DDR4, 2400MHz. I can go up to 32GB. I was comparing these two options: Another one of the same or one of 16GB, 3200MHz. But if I understood correctly I shouldn't put the 16GB together with the 8GM because the MHz is higher? As you can probably see I have no idea of how all these works. I really appreciate any help. I don't want to upgrade to the wrong one and waste the money. Thank you.

Hi, I installed 8GB samsung RAM in my HP Laptop, there was existing Samsung 4GB RAM, physical memory showing 12GB, but when I check SYSTEM INFORMATION it says 12GB in brackets ( 2.92 GB usable ). what is this means ? how can I fix ?

What if I have both an ssd and hdd in my machine? Is it because windows was installed on the ssd?
I installed SSD to my 2007 HP Compaq 6910p laptop. It used to take like 2 minutes to boot win7, now it boots up within 20 seconds.
So I use a computer once a day for photo editing. I have two computers with the same AMD CPU's, same video cards, and same memory. The SSD boots up 20 seconds faster and loads lightroom, 3 seconds faster than my Western digital black gaming HDD, so I save 23 seconds a day using a SSD.

speed aside, an ssd is more reliable and durable. shaking a hard drive (as in dropping your notebook) can damage the platter or read/write arm.
So go for the SSD, gotcha.
