I had a look on the UK Karcher website and the SC 4 is still available and is top of the range. In Australia on the Karcher website is a kettle type steamer then the SC2, SC3 and SC5 which is bigger than the SC4 and you can dial up the steam pressure. Many people here had troubles with the SC4 and that's why here it's been discontinued so only the SC5 at around 500 pounds or $1,000 is now the top of the range. It's had people here raving about how good it is here. Like the SC 4 it has a removable water tank whereas the SC2 and 3 have to be turned off and allowed to cool down before refilling can take place. The SC 5 has four steam settings low, medium and high plus Vapohydro which is steam and hot water. The clear plastic tank on the front holds 1.5 litres of water and the boiler 0.5 litre. It takes 3 minutes to heat up to operating pressure. Maximum pressure is .42 bar. Instead of just a simple on/off switch on Dave's the SC 5 was a large rotating knob which you want to keep clean as a clean knob is the quickest way to a no no we better not go there. The flex or power indicator symbol on Dave's is the same on the SC 5 and it flashes green whilst it's heating up and becomes a steady green light once operating temperature is reached and it's ready to use. If water in the plastic tank gets too low a separate indicator flashes red together with an audible beeping. Karcher doesn't recommend using 100% distilled water only 50% distilled and 50% tap water. 100% filtered water is fine to use. Whilst some buy from Amazon there is no Amazon Australia despite there being a website for Australia so if you buy the SC 5 steamer it will come with an American power plug not an Australian power plug making it completely useless for Australia. So you have to buy local you have no choice. Amazon Australia is ok for non electrical devices.
I am from India 🇮🇳, bought SC4 and enjoying every moment cleaning . Simply Awesome . The advantage of SC4 over SC3 is it has two boiler and no need to wait for reheating every time. An awesome cleansing tool .
Ive got this exact model and it spits out more water than steam ,leaving everywhere flooded and having to mop up b4 continuing , cant say that i would recommend it personally. I would go for a McCulloch if you can get one in your area they are far superior,sadly i cant find one in uk .

Hi, thanks for the demonstration. I wonder if the steam does any harm to the electronic devices in the car as I imagine the moisture is not good for them. Similarly would it does any harm to the leather? can you use it to clean the outside of the car?

Why would you pick the sc4 over the sc3 as I’ve heard the sc4 takes way longer to heat? If you go through the 0.8 tank don’t you have to wait another 5 mins for it to load up again? I don’t see the £80 diff between the models

Hi Dave, would the steamer get rid of for eg stains on carpet or on material car seats? I am just trying to figure out where I would use it most effectively. Dragging around loads of machines as a mobile valeting business drives me mad so I always have to weigh up what is the product replacing, what can it do faster or cheaper...I remember buying one of these Tornadors a year back and the novelty wore off after a month when I need to lug around the air compressor as well, plus I had to clean more I thought after using it that before. Your advice is appreciated! Thanks mate

Ordered one of these and I'm hoping to have it delivered within the week. This is actually a great review! It's light years ahead of the promo videos about this steam cleaner, because it focuses on simple things that are never reviewed or documented anywhere. Looks like Karcher is a quality brand but can get cheap with lots of stuff, for example the carpet slider which needs to be purchased separately and is just a piece of flimsy plastic that costs 15 euros. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for sharing. Do you use it to clean the mats? I guess you have to be careful because if you have tape joins it can apparently dissolve adhesives and it will peel off
Obviously you shouldn't be reviewing a product if you don't know it's functions. At :58 you say the water tank doesn't come off when in fact it does. Have Mr. Miyagi do your reviews in the future.
