you recommend ath m40x for mix monitoring?
They aren't great headphones. I found them uncomfortable my ears didn't almost fit in, so I had to change foams. A lot of digital mixers needed if I wanted to use bass. They gave white noise when connected to a home theater speakers, but straight to computer no white noise. I was blinded by people saying normal headphones are the best. Perhaps I didn't do enough research. For my needs, after over a year of usage, they aren't great but get the job done ie gaming movies music listening.

ay man, is it good for 52 euro? almost 64 usd" i need open back headphones for gaming and listening to music and i saw other headphones at this price are chinese bullsht so i decided to look for branded ones.

Insomniac review: If you only want a pair of good headphones with a crystal clear spund for listening to lo fi or asmr at night without putting pressure on your ears these are a great choice
Thank you for this review. My Audio Technica M20X are starting to fail. but is use these for listenin to voice and music \. Sadlt it is time to replace them. These K240 headphones were on my list I now have good long term info from you that pushes me back towards the Audio Technica direction. I needed a set to use with my boss GT1B multi fx. These really shine. Definitely worth the 70$. (I got a bundle with a headphone holder and 20ft extender.)
They sound fluid. Deep bass extension. I don't use EQ.

How about 'burnin' time? I bought mine in June and during December something happened to the sound. It did sound great suddenly, everything sounded warmer and more natural. Hasn't gone back to the pre-burn at all! Great cans for 50 bucks!

Dude. So I used to own the K240S around 2016 and ended up selling it (wish I had kept it). Then I purchased a K240M in 2019 but the guy on eBay didn't mention the buzz/hiss in the right channel. Ended up reselling it while MENTIONING that (lol). Just the other day though? My mom's friend had some old headphones in a box that he wasn't using and lo and behold, it's another K240M and a K260?! I had no idea the K260 even existed haha. Have you ever heard of those? It will be interesting to do a review/comparison of the 2. He also told me I could keep them. Pretty neat! Happy New Year man! Do you have a review on the K271? I had a pair of K240 from about 12 years ago still made in Austria but the 55 ohm and the bass distorted almost instantly when I turned it up I had to get rid of them. The Sennheiser 595s I had were comfy and handled bass thwacks with ease but did not have the magical AKG midrange. The HD 600s were excellent but the headband felt like a vice on my head. Would the K712 cut the mustard?
The original K240 that I purchased 40 years ago, and still have, is light on bass compared to the more recent edition I also have, still from the Austria era. Otherwise, the sound is very similar between them.
How do they stand against Philips SHP9500?

Sweet phones, the K240's. But then the whole line was exceptional. I got my girl a set of the AKG K-40's in 1981. We still have/use them. I did replace the ear pads but the sound is stunning with clean bass to the 30Hz range. Amazing sound for $20 phones. My favs are my Koss Pro4X phones but the K-40's are very satisfying. Used the K-40's this afternoon while listening to Renaissance (Ashes Are Burning), Kinks (Show Biz) and Beatles (Revolver) and they handled the music with audio aplomb. Fuhgeddaboudit.
I'm a student on low budget looking for cans to start mixing music to (am aware that stereo monitors are more ideal for this, but I have an untreated room and live with other people so I'm making do with what I got) Am aware that there may be limitations due to lower budget, but do you think these are decent enough to start mixing music to? Looking among K240, Presonus HD7, Samson SR850 Have you tried those, and do you have any thoughts on these? mine has 10years, built like a tank, everything sounds awesome, but you need good mastered music and nice amp to fully enjoy them.
Hey, are these any good for home recording guitar (80's metal)?
I have the "made in Austria" K240's from the mid 90's (600 ohm). I love how flat-sounding they are for mixing. They do not have bass extension like my Beyerdynamic dt770's, but I would trust them more for mixing. I think they are very pleasing. I have not heard the new AKG model.
Are these good for listening to metal and rock? I just threw away Samson SR850 (which I loved, but broke), are these comparable?
these are the most comfortable headphones I've ever used. Superior sound quality and fit.

These or the K361/371 for rock/metal referencing? I own a recording studio and need a couple of headphones for mix checking when clients come in and I,m not sure wether these would be better than the k361 which cost almost 2ce as much
the pads are NOT leather. leather is a very specific thing, namely it's animal hide/skin. the pads on the K240 (and most if not all AKG headphones) are an imitation (and i don't mean that to imply anything undesirable). we don't have to sidestep or sneak around it ~or invent in-between words like _pleather~._ ditto SUEDE; suede is LEATHER (usually the INSIDE of the leather). there's micro-suede, but micro-suede ain't suede. imitation leather? sure. imitation suede? okay. leather-like? fine. but if it ain't animal skin it ain't leather _or_ suede. period.
How about to use these for singing and monitoring myself ?

I've had a pair of these for 8 years just to listening to music and they are still great. I've had to replace the cables and earpads but these will certainly last forever.
Hope you would not get anoyed by noob question, but if you listen to music and recording video do your microphone hear the music from those headphones ?

Was just looking at this pair of headphones for mixing and music production. This is by far the best review on Youtube for this particular model, and you really deserve more views. I'm still deciding between getting this and shelling out a bit more for the Beyerdynamic DT 880, but I believe you've made my choice a bit easier with this video :)
