Joby usually make a point of outlining the weight capacity and object compatibility of their tripods, so I'm confused as to why you thought your SLR would fit on this.

I got this joby ball head and a gorillapod and the gorillapod screw doesn't seem to fit into the ball head, are there different version of the gorillapod?
The slr zoom holds 6.5 pounds (3kg). Says the producer. That's true but only when the tripod is new. What about after daily use of one month or three months? Is it still stiff? Or shaking the tripod like a cow's tail, whenever you want to mount a lightweight camera and wants to bring it in different positions? There are many songs of praise about the Gorillapod, when it is taken out of the package and is new. BUT - how stable it is, after intensive daily use? Can anyone give me an answer? I have made every day with a 350g camcorder and other flexible tripod (Gripster) one week different shots. After one week, the Tripod was rubbish. The joints are worn out and the legs can be separated into the individual parts without effort. If the Gorillapod is better, then I will buy one.
Thanks for the review! The small $11 Gorilla Pod is a joke with serious design flaws. Looks like this one is heavy duty without the design flaws.
