I have a Bose S1 and I love it. But I'm looking for more VOLUME. Would it be worth the money for me to upgrade to this unit on this point alone, or should I simply stay with the Bose if I'm happy with it in every other way??

Yeah um. So if you have 3 phantom mic inputs like you complaining about, um, you can still plug in one guitar. Yeah um that's a common band config, NOT! So yeah um, make it cost more for a useless add on. But yeah um, I guess anything is possible. So yeah um, you could use an external mixer if you um, really needed more than um, two powered mics
Great review! Why oh why JBL decided to exclude quarter inch jack connections on the stereo channel as well as excluding a volume knob for the Bluetooth channel is beyond comprehension. Also putting RCA connections on the monitor out is a very strange decision considering you'd be wanting to connect a floor monitor. Saying that, you do get a lot for the money. When running 2 of these units, can the mixers from each system work together like on the Yamaha Stagepass 1K?
I bought an Eon One back late in 2016. I then spent months fighting with JBL to fix the awfully weak MIC PREAMPS. They admitted that one electronic component (a transistor or something) was defective and paid to have it fixed by a factory authorized repair center. Well, that increased the mic volume maybe 20% but surely not dramatic. I found that if I plugged the mic/s into my Mackie ProFX4 mixer and connected it by 1/4" cables to the Eon One, the sound and volume was superb, proving that the Mic Preamps were pretty piss poor. Ads claim new improved Mic Preamps in the Eon One Pro, who knows. I still own my Eon One. Using the mixer, it is superb for playing party music with really high fidelity, and of course using the microphones for talks, karaoke, whatever. At home I play all kinds of music, even orchestral music, on my Eon One, and the sound is superb. My wife is always telling me to turn it down! :) It is now October 2019. People should look at Yamaha's new StagePas 1K with a 12" subwoofer, which sells for $1200 but it does not have battery capability. The Eon One Pro is down to $1300 in order to compete. It used to sell for $1500. People should audition both. Thanks, JBL, but I somehow don't think I'll buy one of your PA speakers again.
Thank you for your review. I went to the Guitar Center to look at the Bose S1 sytem it had great sq but that's about it, not loud at al. The salesman suggested this JBL but didn't have in the store so I could hear it. Too bad it does not come in a 10 or 12" model for more bass.

I have an Eon One. Volume is poor from the mic preamps. Hope they fixed that problem in the Pro....they advertise newly designed preamps. As always version 2 is to fix problems in version 1 ! 😁
