Crazy Pocket PC. 👑👑⌚
When you realize that this is made by ncix tech tips
I have to say, I've never seen the point in this feature. If you have a good computer that can run these games... why wouldn't you just play on that computer. Why stream it to some low-end streaming device? As far as I know, you can't set the main computer in a server/terminal system where you could have multiple players playing on the same system. So... what's the point of this?
How do we use expandable memory on this?
I bought this 2 months ago and still havent used it. Too counter intuitive. Its really the end for devices IMO. HATE HOW IT MUST BE CONNECTED TO ALL THIS EXTRA CRAP TO WORK.
no cooling parts...hmm what material is used?
I wonder it has thunderbolt 3 port that connect a external graphics card haha

I can recommend to anyone considering buying one of these to get the version I bought:
CPU: Intel Cherry Trail Atom Z8350
OS: Windows 10 Pro
C: Drive: 64GB
Model: W5 Pro
I purchased mine a bit over 30 days ago and have been having a great time. I got it during a lightning sale (20% off).
The only issue thus far has been the BIOS Restore to Defaults does not restore all settings! An example is: Advanced -> Android. Enabling Android causes the W5 Pro to NOT boot Windows. Restoring to defaults doesn't restore the ability to boot Windows. You have to manually disable the Android support to again boot to Windows.
Here is my initial review on Amazon. Feel free to comment on it either here or on Amazon review (the product page):
Size: 4GB+64GB/Intel Atom Z8350/Windows 10 Pro
This computer doesn't claim to be speedy. It claims to be small and functional and it meets both of those challenges without a doubt!
What came in the box and what I purchased to go with this Pocket PC (hardware wise):
What came in the box:
1) Pocket PC W5 Pro
** 4GB RAM; 64GB C: Drive
** Windows 10 Professional (REAL). It shipped at WinVer 1809 (OS Build 17763.557.
2) It comes with its own Power Block (PSU).
3) A nine (9) inch HDMI extender cable.
4) Quick Start Guide.
NOTE: The Quick Start Guide says it comes with a manual, but I have yet to find a manual. I suspect the Quick Start Guide is the manual, but IMHO a manual has lots more information than a Quick Start Guide.
Support: I didn't find anything in the box about support. Examples are: Warranty information, Contact Phone Number, Website address, Email address, etc)
I did find support and not just support, but really good support! To access this support you need to locate and use the "Have a question for MACOBOX?" button. To do this follow these steps:
1) Go to the product page for the W5 Pro.
2) On the product page, look for the "sold and fulfilled" link. In this case the link text is: Sold by MACOBOX and Fulfilled by Amazon. Click on the word: MACOBOX
3) On this new webpage (titled: MACOBOX) find the "Have a question for MACOBOX?" button on the right hand side and click it.
4) This will take you to a form, which ends up sending Macobox an email. Based upon my experience, you should see a response within 24-36 hours.
They answered all my questions both quickly and without avoiding anything. Honestly, I thought it would be difficult (or like finding hens teeth) to get help, in fact, I was ready to return the Pocket PC because of poor support. Instead, I found great support and it made me a believer in the Pocket PC and its ability to function well.
Now for one of the bad things in my experience: The W5 Pro does not come with an activation key nor a copy of Windows 10 Professional. You need to ask for this information from the seller, which I did straight off. Without any delay (other than normal email delay), they sent both the activation key and a DropBox link to a copy of Windows 10 Professional.
Only negative at this time: They don't have access tot the drivers (or how to update them) from the manufacturer.
How I configured this Pocket PC hardware wise:
After reading several reviews, I realized for the W5 Pro to have any fighting chance to be successful, I would need to avoid using WIFI and Bluetooth at the same time. To this end, I ordered with the Pocket PC:
1). ** Unitek USB Ethernet Adapter 7-Port Hub, 6 Ports USB 3.0 Hub with Gigabit Ethernet Converter.
2). ** Mpow Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo, Ultra-Thin Chiclet Keyboard and Mouse via USB Dongle (receiver).
These two devices offload work from the Pocket PC's communications chip (WIFI & Bluetooth) to the USB chip and the Unitek and Mpow units. They're working great and I'm not seeing any Internet nor input lag at all.
I have the Unitek USB 3.0 Hub and Ethernet Adapter connected using the Pocket PC USB 3.0 port. The Mpow dongle connects to the Pocket PC using the USB 2.0 port.
3). ** Samsung 128GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC Evo Select Memory Card.
I decided having a D: drive would be good given the unit only comes with a 64GB C: drive.
4). ** Logitech F310 Gamepad (wired).
It connects using the Unitek USB 3.0 Hub. (See reason number two (2) directly below on why I included this gamepad.)
I decided to give this Pocket PC a chance for two reasons:
1) Amazon had it on sale as part of its Lightning Sales. It was 20% off at $135, which made this deal more interesting and worth trying.
2) I play the MMORPG (Massively multi-player on-line role-playing game) Final Fantasy XI (FFXI). Having 3 POL (Play Online) accounts, there are reasons to have characters from all three POL accounts playing together. While my main computer can run three (3) characters at the same time, I always thought it would be nice to have them on separate systems / monitors.
The Pocket PC gave me the opportunity to do this without spending a large sum of money nor taking up much room on/around my deck. As the W5 Pro (Pocket PC) is cheap, small, and functional, it was worth this try out.
Right out of the box this Pocket PC was the same operating system as my big boy (dual processor (12 core); 48GB RAM, 12 GB of HDD, 1GB SDD, etc) system. Side by side you can't tell them apart on matching (similar) monitors.
All the software, I wanted to use on the Pocket PC installed and ran like a champ on the W5 Pro. These product didn't report any difference nor (from what I could tell) see any functional or real difference.
Final Fantasy XI
I downloaded Final Fantasy XI from the Square Enix website (using the Opera browser) directly onto the PocketPC D: drive (128GB microSD card). I was able to install, configure, and update both POL and FFXI without any issues.
As for starting FFXI, there are two issues worth discussing.
1) I ran into a POL-0512 error, which turned out to be a problem with the Windows 10 Pro Firewall (and NOT the Pocket PC). This issue no longer exists.
2) There is a long wait time between POL ending and FFXI starting (the hand off, if you will). On any system, this takes a bit of time, but on the Pocket PC it can and does take a couple to several minutes (or so it seems to be).
NOTE: FFXI will terminate, if you don't respond quickly to the terms and conditions question. Thus walking away or otherwise not being ready when FFXI asks you to accept the terms and condition can cause this timeout to occur requiring you to start over. Sigh, such is life. Wish SE would allow us to configure this timeout value.
I have MS-Office (2010) installed and it all works (thus far without a hitch). Clearly, this Pocket PC can work well for a business man or anyone needing a Windows 10 Pro system to access Office in their pocket.
While I haven't tried other games, I don't readily see the W5 Pro running lots of today's games. It might play turn by turn games or similar games (e.g. solitaire, Gal Civ by Star Dock, Mahjong, etc)
Oh, I will add: I have a remote desktop application from Star Dock systems named: Multiplicity Like all the other applications / products, it installs and run perfectly on the Pocket PC. I mention this program because it means you don't really need a monitor or television to access the desktop - as long as everything is working fine with Multiplicity.
Vlc is crap
*Ah heres my 2gig ram sticc i lost*
