How much RAM are you packing?
I got 64GB for my brand new PC and seeing 9-25% usage (from 83-97% with a web browser and a couple other applications on my 12GB laptop) and I feel it in my existence every time I look into Task Manager. Considering it's one of the only redeeming qualities I have from switching to desktop and gives me peace of mind to stretch like you've got legroom in a flight, I think it was worth the extra £80 (3.5% PC cost). 32GB just wouldn't've been the same.
i can see the 12gb 3060 or 16gb big navi gpus utilizing their vram as a ram cache or matching the vram with your ram under a render/load. Those people may want to consider 64gb. Its all relative to a persons willingness to buy the ram or demand more ram in the first place. Newer systems with more cores /threads and vram can all make more use of 64gb. As well as older cpus. Itx builds only have 2 slots of ram so 32gb already seems like an essential. Like ram typically goes the 32gb kit in the full atx build im selling is the same as my itx build. and ive tested the full build with 64gb istalled....if you have the money its worth it. Im considering trying to sell it with 64gb if a buyer is interested. BC a c14 3600mhz 32gb kit is now out vs the c16 sticks. making it the best option for an itx build with ryzen from a work and gaming standpoint.
Bruh i dont get why people act like you shouldn't get 64 gb of ram........, its better to get 64gb of ram, then you dont have to worry for a long time, just in case there is a game that takes a lot of ram. People act like 64 gb of ram kills your pc lmao.
Funfact : I have Core 2 duo And 4gbram Without Any Graphic Card
I just goes up from 16 to 32, not only the render time go faster, the preview during editing also silk smooth as well
Sorry bro, very late like, but i will subscribe, just for the fact I'm looking to ram upgrade from 2x8 - 2666 hyper x fury, due to new video editing proyects, and exactly you have my processor
Just a quick question, did you switch how many ram stick in each configuration.
For example, did you get a 4x16gb kit and start with one 16gb stick, then 2x16gb (32gb) for the 32gb test?
Because the performance probably actually comes from the dual channel nature, and more so, the quad channel.
As a result, the last statement about the computer having an easier time accessing fewer ram stick is false, dual channel doubles the memory bandwidth that the CPU can access and quad channel doubles that again, not saying that you will get twice the performance, but still, the performance that is dependent on the ram speed will be increased. xD
Further more, the ram sticks themselves need to actually process some things too, and having more sticks means that the "searching" load can be shared between more ram sticks.
I would recommend two sticks of ram, 2x16gb for instance, then you will be taking advantage of dual channel, assuming you read the motherboard manual and put the ram sticks in the right slots. The main reason I would recommend two rams stick instead of the full four is that you might want to upgrade how much ram you have and if you get a full 4 sticks you'll have to buy all new ram, because mixing brands, speeds, and sizes is not recommended.
Thanks for reading if you did!
How much for digital art? 16gb or 32gb? Mostly Photoshop and animations in future etc, Also what about storage? 512 or 1tb
Watched it and upgraded ram from 16gb 2666mhz to 3200mhz 64gb. Worth it? Yes , less crashing. Used to render 4K videos and the ram almost used up to 90% of 16gb and it might not be a single run successful render. After upgrading, I was surprised it used almost up to 39% of 64gb for rendering but upside is you can do more things than just wait for rendering to be done instead.
How about this:
Ryzen 5 3600 with 32GB RAM vs Ryzen 7 3700 with 16GB RAM
I'm using 3700x. I had 16gb at first(single slot). It was a huuuge bottleneck. I added another 16gb and It really made huge difference. Speed up a lot. Probably also dual channel advantage also added. But still. I'm considering to fill the other two slots with 16*2. So I may end up with 64gb. Cuz still I can feel the bottleneck.
so i guess im heavy multi tasker and i want to go more ram rn i have 16Gb 3200Mhz CL 18, and i was wondering if i should go just 32Gb 4000Mhz CL18 or 64Gb 4000Mhz CL18 the price is same idk why tho.. 32Gb is 500$ and 64Gb 550$
So that 64Gb is really worth it?
8 GB ram it s might be 37 minutes
Very nice video, exactly what I was looking for.
Well. I think your wrong about the gfx need. Upgrading my gfx made a substantial difference to my render times. Also, you need enough vram to not have vram buffering inside the editor
Спасибо друг за видео! :-)
Thank you for the video tips. I have a question: Will 16 GB of DDR 3 RAM be enough to work fast and smoothly with Photoshop files of 10000 x 10000 pixels, while at the same time having a video recording application (such as Camtasia studio or OBS) open to record video tutorials (non-4k videos)? Thanks
thanks for taking your time and comparing the 3 in real work test
2021 Apr still badass looking >D
your karambit is a gaming pc itself
im using the same ram and program but i dont have cant customise all the individual lights, could you help with this please?
plz subscribe my chanel plz gamer pro
What's the price , yesterday i asked one shop keeper he told me its 4200
I clocked up to 3700 MHz timings 17-19-19-39. At the same time, the BIOS was reflashed. Z390 AORUS PRO. Aida test passed 4 times in five minutes. While the flight is normal, the processor is 9-9900 K, 5000 MHz.
At 3733, it no longer holds the Hades, it goes into reboot.
In a non-refreshed BIOS, I could not overclock to such frequencies, only up to 3500 MHz. Only when flashing the BIOS, it was possible to squeeze such frequencies.
At 3600 MHz, timings 17-18-18-36.
Greetings from Russia
So the more of these you have the better the performance ?
Guys just curious what are the main differences between this and Corsair Vengeance RGB? In my country Kingston's 32GB costs just a little bit more than 16GB Corsair..I don't recall them 32gb being that cheap..that said I left the hardware and price scene since 2 years..
We're is that app call it ?
What's the name of the opening theme?
Is This compatible with amd ryzen 2700x ?
quality content :)
He even got an RGB knife lol
This is the only accent that's so heavy I can't understand some sentences
He unboxed with a fucking karambit
Will it work with
Gigabyte b450 aorus motherboard
Compatible with ryzen 5 3600x?
Do they include fake dimm like on Aorus for 2 banks kit?
Is it really working with gigabyte z390
july 7th 2019 16Gb 3200Mhz HyperxPredator Rgb €115 Prices have gone down so much since last year jesus
Personally I just buy the sketchiest kit that meets the specs I need.
Does this mean if i dont touch the BIOS, my desktop would use 2133 Mhz by default regardless of my RAM's rating (i.e. 2666 Mhz) did i get it right?
Why would you take his wallet?
I missed the tunnel bear ads in modern LTT
We need an update 😂😂
Hey Linus you need to make an updated video on this topic 🤷
you forgot the most important part -> sick rgb gives you +10 strength in every video game you play
What kind of bullshit clickbait question is that?? these kind of titles to your vids have been a lot like this lately.
Corsair 16gb ram, 3200 MHz clocked down to 2400mhz
If my motherboard didn’t hold back the speed I would avg around 130-140 FPS in warzone, but because of the motherboard I only avg 90 🤦🏻♂️
I didn’t realize all this until after I got the 1080ti I wish I saw this video first
That really goes to show how little ram has improved.
We were still on the GTX 16 series when this video came out.
I'd like to see this test done again today. May see a bigger difference at those high end sticks
I has 1600mhz 2400mhz and 3200mhz ram
Holy shit the joke at 4:00 was too good
Remale pls !! I'm about to upgrade !!! On 2022 😂
I’m sorry but I can’t take adults seriously if their wearing socks and sandals. “Scandals”
one keyboard was harmed in the making of this video
Whats the best RAM set should i get for Legion 7 2021 5900HX RTX 3080 VRAM 16GB? Coz i heard the stock 32GB RAM goes almost 10 to 20% performance decrease, review by JT on L5 pro. Please advice
Short answer is YES it does.
I got a gtx 1050 ti and intel core i5 4770k with 8gb ram clocked at 1600megahertz
ican oc hyperx predator no rgb for intel 10700k? Help
any chance you would be able to send me a screen shot of the over clock setting's so i can copy your's ? i have the same ram and would help alot.
HyperX fury 3200 CL16 able to do 3600 CL18 22 22 42 ,but not stable * but rock solid at 3533 at 1.4V (Ryzen 3300X)
I've been stuck at 3200 with my kit, exact same RAM....going to try out your settings once I finish the video. I was trying not to raise the latency, so that is probably what has been keeping me stuck. I literally just kept the 2933 XMP settings but bumped it to 3200 mhz and it has been pretty stable lol.
Pro tip for anyone using Predator RAM if you are after 32GB you are better off getting 4 sticks of 8GB rather than 2 of 16GB and this is because its single rank ram dimms used meaning that if you use 4 sticks of single rank ram it will operate at dual rank... Meaning even at the same speeds and capacity using for sticks will give you a small boost in performance even in games.
I am using 4x 8GB DDR4 3333MHz CL16 Predator ram and its for the price second to none, increase speeds and or lower timings will offer minimal performance in games.
Incredible ram for the price, I got my first 2 sticks for £90 a year later got the other two sticks for £82 on amazon... That's £172 for 32GB 3333MHz CL16 RAM and I have managed to overclock them to 3466MHz and keep the the same timings.
I bought CL16 3333MHz 2x 8GB Kingston Predator Ram for £88... Best bang for buck and best speed Vs timing combo money can get for DDR4 ram.
A friend of mine has the same 8700k but has 3600 CL17 RAM but he paid £130 for it with no performance benefit in gaming over CL16 3333MHz.
Once you go past 3200 CL16 performance benefits get smaller and smaller.
Just buying cheap 3200 CL16 2x 8GB sticks from Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, GSkill or Team Group and your all good for both Ryzen and intel 8700k and newer Chips.
No, if you want to run the memory on none even numbers like 11-13-15-17 etc, you need to set Command Rate to 2 and disable power-down mode and you will have your 15-17-19-21-23 etc! It's not that Ryzen doesn't want LOL man!
i overclocked my 2400mhz cl 15-15-15-35 to 3200mhz cl 16-18-18-38
To all people who build yourself computer: We are a small PC builder/reseller. During this year we bought some Kingston HyperX Predator 4x8GB 3000MHz kits. The kit has 4 sticks of memory. We have had the same problem: One or two sticks of memory in the kit cannot run at the speed of 3000MHz. Don't be fooled by the look of the good heat sink. The reason Kingston spend extra money for the heavy duty heat sink because they have no choices: They use the memory chips designed for lower speed and 1.2V then overclock to make it run at 3000MHz with the increase voltage to 1.35V. To reduce the heat, they have to put the thick heat sink on.
This reduces the lifespan of the memory. We found out they are not stable. There is no speed to overclock.
you have to redo this, my friend..
Got my ram stable from 3200 cl 14 to 3600 cl 15 at 1.4v
My parametres of 8x2gb 3000MHz CL15 hyperX predator not RGB are 3466MHz CL16-18-19-33 1,35V
Fail ... You have to switch the leds to blue so they run cooler ... Cmon evrybody knows 😆
I have this sticks but 3200 mhz .. Can you help me,how much voltages should i add to make my ryzen 2700X work perfectly fine on 4.2 ghz? Any advice will be much appriciated
Great video. Love the humor.
mine is the 3200mhz version...may I overclock to 4266?
What is the CL 15-15-17-39??
What about Ballistix Micron memory ?
So awesome you just help me set mine to 3600 now get 186 FPS open gl cinebench =)))))
Why not pump more volts and get tighter timings :/ you can easily pump 1.45v on the hynix ram and get cl14 3466 😅
