I always laugh at people when they say Bernoulli isn't the sole reason if why planes fly. I've flown countless times, I can tell you the speed of the plane and combined with the shape of the wing, causes the air beneath the wing to move slower than the air from the top. The pressure builds up and causes the plane to lift. That's why the edges of behind the wings can be adjusted so that the air can take EVEN LONGER to meet the air from the top. Build lift and pressure beneath. I AM FASCINATED WITH DANIEL BERNOULLI. I find it amazing, that a simple law of physics can cause HEAVY objects to fly under heavens sky.

I'll just come out and say that Bernoulli Principle has nothing to do with lift generation. Bernoulli's Equation is applicable only in a single flow field/streamline where mass and energy is conserved. The flow around an airfoil does not match with this definition. It is one of the most common misconceptions about aerodynamics. NASA has an article about it in their web page. I highly recommend reading it.
