I was given one today. How can you tell what carrier it is with. No logo was noticed when I turned it on. My sim card did not work. Had little message at top that said no service.

I love my phone, I have it for near than 2 years, no issues, don’t even want to change it.
I loved my Honor 5x and it is really sad after my warranty expired it's battery life became worse and worse every single month until it was unusable. Not sure if I'd recommend any device from Huawei since mine only lasted for 2 years with couple of months on top and since there are also phones that have lasted longer than mine for example htc one m7.

Two years later and I'm still using this phone and am perfectly fine with it. Although I would recommend to download google now and keep only a few tabs open.

I bought the Honor 5x one year ago. It's really a good phone, slick and impressive. But today the Honor 5x is slow and lagging most of the time. Especially when you connect to a WiFi or Mobile Data, it gets stuck for 3 minutes. It's a good phone for games and social media but appeared to be that a factory reset is required but I don't want to lose my data and settings! I give a credit for strength. I dropped it on hard surface many times and never broke or cracked.
I've had mine for almost 2 years and now its glitches from time to time. Like I can't type sometimes without my phone completely freaking out
I have this phone right now and it's truly a terrible phone with serious lag issues. The only good thing about the phone is fingerprint sensor.

Takes too long to charge. About 2 to 3 hours exactly. Overheats fast. So far no lag when running applications. Camera is good and speakers are decent. Not too good but not too bad as well.
Not that it really matters, but everyone but a couple of reviewers get the processor wrong: it's a Snapdragon 616!

I own an honor 5x and the asphalt 8 performance is a solid 30 fps. I'm guessing the reason PhoneArena was having such poor performance is because they did not change the performance settings to normal. This phone has a snapdragon 616 64bit octa-core processor, this seems to be a very biased review, I had no issue whatsoever with call quality or the speakers.
This is the first largely negative review of this phone that I've seen. Would have liked more details about how the UI lags; does it lag all the time or when you're performing certain tasks? For $200 you can't expect the best performance but this review makes it seem like performance was intolerable, which is a vast contrast to most other reviews.
One thing I have yet to see in any of the honor 5x video reviews. Is anyone stressing just how ugly and terrible the black border around the screen really is. Ill never own it, just based on that. Id sooner buy a moto g with weak performance and 720p than have a screen that does that.

I've been using Honor 5X since 31 of Dec 2016. I bought it for $190. It's my second phone after Nokia 5530. It slows down every time. I can't use it for any video games like pubg, PS2 games etc. It keeps lagging. It actually supports SD card but after a while my SD card was damaged and I lost my data. I have hesitations whether I go for another Honor or not. In terms of battery, charging, social media apps usage it's great but it's a rubbish for any other activities. Last week, It stopped working and I had to format it so I lost all my data.
That's my phone. My cousin gift this to me.
I'm watching this on a 5x, also I got two cases that were much better quality than the one you got, and I had the screen protector preinstalled

i bought it for 14000 rupees pakistani, just fell from the bed and stopped receiving sim card signals, also keeps rebooting from itself and sometimes it does not even restart just keeps showing honor and vibrates again and again which i very annoying i would rate it 5/10
