Great looking machine I had one and sent it back because the "non precision drivers" in the track pad. It drove me crazy. I also had to reinstall the audio drivers 2 times a week during the 30 day period I had it before finally a USB slot went dead. HP took it back for a full refund. Until they up the quality control and put PRECISION drivers in this track pad, it is not worth buying. I hope they fix these issues in a version 2 because I absolutely loved the leather concept and would try another one.
Would the HP Spectre Folio 2 in 1 be a better buy than the Spectre x360 15t, and these can operate Android apps like all 2 in 1 laptops

are the backlit keyboard symbols transpreant or are it one of those where you cant see jackshit hence symbols when it is dark as only the surrounding is litasking since the symbols is very big and not that easy to make also transperant so the backlit lids they keysymbols but since you dont lid that aspect I reckon it is all good..
Do you think this would be sufficient for minor Solidworks designing?
I really wanna buy this laptop but there is one question that i need answered. Will this laptop do well as a college laptop for an Electrical engineering student? I mean i need to use programs like matlab, cad, etc. And just FYI, I was able to run all the simulation softwares and cad software on my Surface pro 3 smoothly. So will the folio do better? Please answer my query and solve my biggest issues. Many thanks in advance.
I got this laptop back in March. It's amazing except the leather is falling apart after only 4 months.

5:34 That's the one thing I don't like about HP laptops. The HP Spectre x360 is really good in one particular model in terms of performance, but a huge chin paired with the large grill of the speaker is the one thing keeping me leaning towards the Lenovo C940 15". It's literally the only thing. Like if one of the two companies made a machine that had the best things of both of them, I'd be immediately sold.

Arriving way late to the party...Have had mine for more than a year. No issues whatsoever. And it is fanless (not sure you mentioned that) which means it is dead quiet. I treat it like a stepchild, dragging it everywhere and the build is rock solid. I can't express ow much I love this thing or how huge a game changer it is.What every reviewer misses (because HP missed it, too) is an alternate kiosk mode: just flip the screen FULLY over so it is facing away from the keyboard. The screen will flip automatically and now you have either a presenter kiosk or a screen you can angle at most any way you want.Downside: my mic doesnt work either. Might be a bug with the system, I havent had a chance to run it down yet.I attach it to a 27 inch external monitor and run Photoshop flawlessly. Watch movies on planes and then flatten it down during takeoff and landing so I don't get yelled at (it looks like a tablet because it is one).Spend extra and go for the high end. You really dont want to get sealed into an underperforming or limited config b/c you wanted to save a nickel. It's worth the stretch.Leather holding up fine, no issues whatsoever. Most of the time it requires no case, though I occasionally put it into a padded sleeve.

NEVER BUY HP!!!! I bought this thing and within three months the touch screen and digitizer stopped working. HP wasted two (full) days of my time talking to India. They took it back and they say it needs a new mother board which will take a month to obtain. Then they are going to rip the leather off, reassemble this abortion and send it back to me. On the other hand, I could have somebody else's broken machine that they have rebuilt. Total breach of Warranty and absolute F*#@* You for service. NEVER BUY HP!!!!
