I wish they had glass coating on the trackpad and atleast a 56Whr battery. They're actually competing with macbook air m1 with that 80k price tag, so they should've just charged us 5k more and fix out all these small shortcomings. Screen is good on this one.

Cost in Indian rupees ?
Is this a pavilion with the envy build quality ?
I don't want this thing get popularity here by any local youtubers because it will skyrocketed its price through the roof.
Pity this isn't available in Canada yet (except for the lower 8gb model from Costco)
I know that the onboard RAM comes soldered. But does it have an extra RAM slot though? I'm ready to pull the trigger if it does. the 8Gb RAM ryzen 5 model is on sale now in my country. Thanks
Hi can you review the HP Envy 15
Thanks for another great review! I have owned the same version of this HP Aero for just under a month and it DOES have USB-C charging support. I have used this method of charging almost exclusively since I bought it. I found that it needs a 45W or higher rated third-party power plug. I have had wifi issues though with poor throughput and dropped connections. Still not resolved and HP customer service, tech support have been how shall I say this not even close to helpful. I now know more about this machine than they do. I tried to confirm whether or not the motherboard provides Gen 4 for NVMe slot and as far as I can tell it does not. I believe it's Gen 3 (too bad). Do you and does anyone else know for sure? Nice price point for this total package but HP needs to improve it's support and product knowledge.
Not a fan of Windows 11 i think this being a budget laptop will struggle in terms of future proof abilities
its in the 500s right now too
Not available in canada. Or is it?
Can anyone tell me Pavilion Aero 13 better, or Asus Zenbook14 better? Very appreciate
using ryzen 5 model , heres what u missed 1. It does support type C charging, that port can used as display out, sleep power delivery , 10gbps transfer rate also 2. it has wifi 6 + Bluetooth 5.2
Small nitpick. "The chassis consists of recycled oceanbound plastics" The chassis is made of magnesium, not plastic. It's the keycaps that use recycled plastic. Also, the USB-C port does support power delivery.
How is the wifi performance I saw in many hp forums, flipkart, Amazon and in hp official reviews Posted that weak wifi signal reception.
I'm using hp envy 13 right now, and it's working so well .
I've been using this laptop for about a week. I bought the 16GB and Ryzen 7 variant. While it might be an overkill for "daily usage" it works great for heavier tasks like compiling code and it even can run some games. If you have a choice go with 16GB of ram. I saw lots of laptops became unusable over the years just because the ram was soldered.
no beating the envy x360
"this is the webcam test on the Envy 13"
Asus Vivobook PRO 15 OLED. $1,100 on Newegg. Ryzen 5800H, 16GB Memory, 512 SSD, NVIDIA RTX 3050. OLED Display. Thank me later.
Good for gaming?
I just wanted to say that with a Student Discount on the HP store and it optioned with 512GB NVME, and the 5600U 16GB it only costs around $680 which is way more affordable than the other recommended products
Where's linux compatibility?
I picked it for just under $600. Got the 5600u 16gb model.

They honestly should've sent reviewers the 5600U version and marketed it as a budget laptop. It simply isn't made to run a 5800U properly.
Managed to get the 5800U with 16gb ram for 700 before tax!
Just picked this up from Costco with the Ryzen 7 5800U, 16gb RAM, 512gb SSD and backlit keyboard for $699. At that price, I think it's a steal. I haven't been able to throw anything at it yet that makes it break a sweat and the display is outstanding for a laptop at that price. I do agree with Josh that it would be over priced at $1000 +, but if you can pick it up in the $700 - $800 price range with those specs, it's a great buy. Unfortunately, Costco has sold out of the Ryzen chipped models and now has a i7 version listed at $999 (they do throw in the backlit keyboard and 4k monitor though). At that price there's better options out there.
A small query - will using the AMD Ryzen Master solve the CPU underperformance issue? P. S. - Badly looking for a thin and light windows laptop that's feather weight and under a 1000$. I'd be really grateful if you can offer any other laptop recommendations.
So many praises for this reviewer but I've found this review to be somewhat problematic. The only valuable comments I found in this were the power draw and comparison to Swift X (and I do appreciate those), everything else seemed weird in terms of laptop review. You can't just recommend a macbook air over a windows laptop to anybody without knowing what their primary use will be. They're two very different ecosystems. Then there's the somewhat frequent mentions of backlit keys. Of the 3 laptops I've owned so far only one has backlit keys and I've never turned on the keyboard led's other than that first unboxing and going "wow, backlit keys meh". Because other than the function keys which may differ between laptops, you really shouldn't need to look at your keyboard to type. And you shouldn't be using laptops in the dark where you can't see your keys, seriously. I just came here from a slickdeals posting and people hardly say "no backlit keyboard for this price, hard pass." And then there's the price point comparison, besides the acer swift x, the price mentioned for Asus and Macbook air were sale prices. That seems a little unfair. Again, I just got here from a slickdeals posting and the 5800u hp sale price (from Costco, not identical model but just aero with backlit keys and fingerprint reader) is $100 cheaper than the lowest model of macbook air sale price ($699 vs $799). And the older Asus Zenbook mentioned is no longer available at all. Let's not forget those two laptops have half the ram and half the storage of the $1000 model of HP Pavilion and MBA storage isn't upgradeable. These are valuable to people who do music production and need to store/load sample libraries which just brings back to the point of use case. I mean, yes, a couple of months have passed since this review came out, but to compare the MSRP of one product to another product on sale to argue the MSRP price should be cheaper is just. odd. That said, the Acer Swift X is a more valid comparison and I'm interested in looking at that laptop. I just wished this review could've omitted the comparison to Zenbook/MBA.

I personally find traveling with a 2.2 lbs laptop vs 3 lbs laptop makes for a huge noticeable difference. It may not seem much but that weight is carried all day long during the trip. So the lighter weight is great if you travel frequently with the laptop.
I am getting the same spec at $844
This guy and Dave 2d are pretty cool with reviews
It is selling for $750 now with 16gb ram, 512ssd, 1080p screen and 5800u
I think this laptop is a far better deal overseas than in the us, in my country macbooks are at least 300 dollars more expensive, the acer swift x doesn't exist and the backlight keyboard comes by default.
This laptop regularly goes on an $80 discount ($670 starting) and now its on a $210 discount ($540 starting). Picked up Warm Gold with 5600U, 16GB RAM, 2x2 Wifi, 1600p Display for $645. I haven't found any other laptops this lightweight with great specs and a nice screen for under $700.
Can I charge and connect keyboard and monitor to single type-c port using a dongle? Want to use type-c port as docking port.
So i can charge the Laptop via USB-C did i understand it right?
Cant decide wether to buy this one or 2020 envy x360 13, any advise?
