Ink with costly Printheads built in is poor design ....extremely high ink operating cost due to printhead ...the printheaddless cartridge design is way better
I did this with my coloured printheads and afterwards it said "Replace the Printheads" and refused to do anything. At least it printed black before :-( PS : I went back and cleaned with a pad damped with surgical spirit. It then worked.

It would be nice if HP fucking told people they have to be left on to cycle the ink.

I have never used a printer. I didn't need it. Now I try to repair some new model printers. I was shocked to see that the producers manufacture different cartridges only to profit more and they never care about environment and pollution. In theory all machines work in the same way and parts could be replaceable, but no!! Each model must be different and cartridges are too expensive to renew. Fucking money thirsty people.

Yellow was printing apricot on the diagnostic. I would clean the printheads 10 times until the yellow appeared again, but on the next print job the yellow would be missing again, and the trees were a beautiful blue. This worked for me and restored my yellow; however I lost the light gray. Cleaned the gray twice and it wouldn't return so I ordered a new printhead. The next day I wondered if maybe water from cleaning the yellow was causing the gray to go missing. I cleaned the printheads, and printed a diagnostic. The gray was back and all was well. Thank you, thank you. UPDATE - YELLOW AND GRAY kept randomly disappearing so I replaced all printheads and finally got the result I wanted.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me. I soaked with a mix of 75% lukewarm water, 25% ispoprop for about quarter of an hour - initially print on the affected channel returned to as-new (about A3 worth of the affected colour), but just started to show starvation as I cancelled the print -- on the second test print it started to run dry again almost immediately with severe starvation issues. Several reseats of the affected printhead made no difference. Interestingly ink _is_ getting through to the head, but obviously not quickly enough to satisfy printing requirements. I can start with uniform coverage but then it fades to nothing after several head passes. I've not soaked the head for longer - didn't have the opportunity. I haven't checked the cartridge, though ink level is almost 100%. Can't eyeball the lines to see if there's a clog... As HP shroud them with black plastic. All other colour channels are fine, which is even more annoying. HP genuine inks and parts always used. Should I be trying a heavier IPA base - or 100% water - for longer, or is there something else I can try before buying a new printhead?

You saved my printer :D I used nail polish remover with acetone (last resort before I bought a new printer). One soaking for 30 minutes opened up all but one in my Canon printer, soaked that one again and now my printer works perfectly :)
Best case scenario for me if this didnt work buy a new ink and cartridge for me my printer works fine however maybe the cartridges nozzles will likely have a build up of dried ink on the inside also but thanks for the info im hoping this will work or my money will flush right down haha
