Good Idea but i dont think that this is a good choice, because you can use just a basic relay to do all this staff, no need to waste money for a device like sonoff mini, wich is smart home device. I think the better option would be to connect a basic relay and also the Hik-Connect and IVMS app supports to turn on and off the alarm output, you don't need such device as sonoff mini. Right now I have lost count on the number of cats and cat fights and sensor triggered security lights and wasted electricity. It's a war zone out there at night. Hi. I tried this installation but when I connected S1 and S2 (from mini-sonoff) to chOut1 and G (from HVR), it burned that channel. There was a little short circuit sound and short circuit smell. I want to know what could have been the problem. I am using a mini sonoff exactly the same as the one you are using. I am using a different HVR. Mine is DS-7208HUHI-K2. Before I connected the mini-sonoff to the HVR I was able to test both of them and they were functioning as expected. I was able to turn on the 120VAC bulb when I short circuit S1 and S2. On the other side, using a continuity test (electric tester) I was able to hear a beep for several seconds when line-crossing event was fired. // Something else is that when I test (+)S1 (-)Nin and (+)S2 (-)Nin, I was able to measure 65VAC on each of them. Is this what we are expected to get on each Sx? //*// This is how I connected mini-sonoff: Nin (bulb), Nin(outlet Neutral), Lin(outlet Line), Lout(bulb), S1(HVR alarm chOut1), S2(HVR alarm G, G that correspond to chOut1). I appreciate if you can help me find out whats wrong. I still have 3 alarm out working. Thanks
