i have a question about machinability. a vehicle from the 80's comes into my shop & has a cast iron spindle. the customer cut the stuck bolt off flush to the casting on both sides so it can not be grabbed with a tool. customer also attempted drilling and failed. so the customer shot me in the foot. twice. in the same spot. my course of action was to burn the bolt out with my oxy-acetelyne torch. that worked. but like always, it hardens the metal. in your video, i suppose i did flame hardening to the metal. regular drill bits wont drill the hole i just made. how can i anneal the metal without further flame-hardening the casting that needs drilled and tapped for inserting a bolt?
