You are great I wish I was in a band class and my parents would have bought me musical instruments instead of video games. I have a trumpet but can't figure it out cause there isn't as much info as I would like. I'm really thinking about picking up a recorder and start learning.
I have Yamaha YRS24B, and I was thinking whether I should upgrade it because the sound was a bit 'grainy'. After watching this, I bought YRS314B, and I really love it. I also own alto Ecodear. Thanks Sarah for this video.

I have had quite a few wooden recorders in my time, mainly Dolmetch. My descant recorder that I have now is a Moeck Flauto 1, which is resin and I love it. I bought it in McCullough Piggott in Dublin many many years ago. I also have Aulos and Suzuki resin treble recorders which I love to play as well. I used to play duets with my daughter when she was much younger and attending grammar school. She played in a recorder consort that was organised by one of the senior girls. They represented the school as they competed in some of the local music festivals. They won the woodwind class on several occasions.
Hey Sarah I bought the Aulos 503B 'Symphony' but some of the holes are oval. I then bought a second one and it had oval holes too! is that normal? I'm so confused! when I play a chromatic scale some of the notes are flat.
The sopranos sound nice and have a very cheery tone, but the altos just sound so much more mature. Theres a stability to the tone that sopranos don't have imo. Also in general you can cheat out higher notes on a lower instrument but not the other way around without physical changes. Basically I am gonna get that yamaha alto

In my opinion, the Yamaha is the best.

Don't know if it worth now in 2021, but would be interesting you review the brand "Angel" from Korea, they are cheap but not toys, they surprised me. Thanks if you see this.
The curved windway serves (according to some makers) to "regulate" better the airflow. To be honest I have several plastic and wood recorders (nor very cheap nor very expensive) and I'm not that good as a player to note a great difference.

could you lower the volume of the backing track a bit? some times its a bit loud and harder to seperate just recorder instrument alone

I saw that Yamaha offers a soprano recorder in F. Wondering which is better. I'm learning the alto recorder in F. But know a couple of notes on the soprano recorder in C. Nice sound and song by the way!
