Besides being able to sit down and rest and comfort, the biggest advantage is definitely safer than standing up. Much lower center of gravity when sitting down and you can put both feet on the ground if you wish instead of one when stopping. Way better balance as well when sitting down (again due to lower center of gravity). More aerodynamic and less air resistance when sitting down. Conclusion: huge difference with the seat. Such a no brainer. Unless if you prefer standing up.
