IMO, the last minute (starting c. 6:50) is not an accurate statement of the situation. It implies that so long as we make the worlds megacities more efficientstop car dependent sprawl using urban nodes instead of large centers?all will be well. Avoided is the question of overall population and the amount of energy flux needed to provide a decent quality of life. The narrative earlier mentioned the "metabolism" of urban systems; this conclusion loses that key concept. There is not enough energy and material in the world to support the 3 dozen (or more) megacities the video envisions for any length of time; it is not sustainable.If you pause at 7:30 in the video you can see the stark inequity in access to energy (i.e., wealth) between Europe ( billion people) and Africa (1.3 billion). This inequity is also not sustainable.
