My ping while gaming goes from 30 to 1000 while i have connected the wifi antenna is there a driver for it or i just screw the antenna with the motherboard
Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming , What is the difference between ultra and none ultra Motherboards ?
Does this give you better ping and connection
My online review: Even before hooking this up to anything, I could tell this was a huge upgrade…great quality construction and aesthetic value. The feel of the construction can be felt in the weight and how it felt solid construction. When I decided that this would be the cornerstone of my upgrade (moved from AMD to Intel)…I wanted to keep it economical I went with i5-8400 and G Skill Rapjaws (ECC, 2 x 8GB). Although it lists that it only works with non-ECC RAM, the instructions that come with it does say you can do 1 strip. I would go with Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 2400…it was suggested by crucial.com as guaranteed compatible.
I got this upgrade to play WoW, I would get huge lag in large battlegrounds. I do plan on getting my ram to 64 GB and upgrading the chip later on. The i5-8400 defaults to 2.8 ghz, before I dabbled on overclocking I went to test the new system in a BG. All tests where fantastic and works better than my AMD that I had at 3.6 ghz (same video card and was using 32g ram), I used the provided wifi antenna. I was in close range of about 50 people in the BG and so no lag. This is a very nice motherboard with many options and love the layout of where all the extras plug in.
The provided sata cords are lengthy enough to support a mid-tower and possibility a max tower. 4 cords are provided, with 2 of them have connectors that are L-shaped on one side…great for keeping the plug-in flat against the power port. The one thing I can provide criticism, the connection on the motherboard sata are positioned paralleled to the board and facing to front of your machine. So once the MB is installed it can be a challenge to plug in your sata cords, especially if you don’t have the ability to remove both sides of your case.
Pluses of this motherboard: wi-fi (with a provided antenna), quality sata cords with a decent length (with L-shaped connections), the connection panel on the rear has it’s own panel (no open space), supports 8 and 9 gen intel chips (can go economical to pricey), fits snug in ATX case, multiple fan power connections, case connections (power, LED, etc) are quality connection), and nice aesthetic value.
Criticism of this motherboard: placement of sata connection might be small challenge for novice, lack of easy bios instructions, yellow-colored illumination (if you can change, I don’t know…most of my color scheme is red), and a challenge to read small text labels for case connections (but really what else can you do, had to read manual to see which was which).
not even a year later and this board can be had for 90$ I'm surprised it used to cost so much
Its piece of shit... if you thinks overclocking, forget about it. 8700k for 4.9ghz, vid droops severely when linx running. May be d/t poor vrm.
So am I not able to run 144hz right cuz theres no DP or DVI D dual link
so with gigabyte you either get a good bios on a shit board, or a shit bios on a good board.
are this board good for core i7 8700k coffe lake
What is on-board wifi?
Hi great video, does this board support the Kaby lake i7 7700,thank you
Forgive the newbee question. I'm building my first desktop. Do you need to purchase a separate wifi antenna to screw onto the back to get the wifi to function? Again, I'm a newbie. (；一_一)

My question here, is that really 8 RAM slots or 4? I definitely heard him say 8.(Timecode 4:24)
Of course you want USB type C to be a thing.. you'll be in work for years replacing broken sockets on boards and in cases because the type C standard simply isn't fit for purpose.. just like the endless stream of laptop power jacks you replace and phone charger sockets that constantly need replacing by phone repairers. Standard USB is at least reasonably robust by virtue of its size.
Hey dude. Love the vids. Any chance you you say where the intro music is from at the start of the video?
Hello, do you still own that motherboard? I have one like that, but when i choose others colors than Red, on the left bottom, the colors doenst show proprely, sorry my english. Thanks.
My 9700k will be here tuesday; I've never been without all the parts at the same time; I installed everything though, and did power it on to see if it was getting power.
It does. However, it turns on for 15ish seconds then off, then on again, this is due to no CPU installed, yes? Also, the aorus logo as the LEDs by the VRMs quickly flash once then go off when I plug it in and flip the switch. Is this normal behavior since no CPU installed yet? Or is something shorting the LEDs? I have a video uploaded to show.
Good rewiev man..... because of you, im buying this board.... 👍👍👍👍
Hey adamant how do I know if it's dead for sure and what does that mean if it is (sorry I'm only starting to get into the hardware of PC's)

Gigabyte z370 aorus gaming , what is the difference between ultra and none ultra ?.
Mine was fine for just under 2 years and then completely died this weekend... now I need to find out it if took my 8700k with it
asically the same board minus a few features? sounds just like the X399 designare EX board compared to the X399 gaming 7
Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming WiFi is the best redesigned version. Can handle 9th generation processors after Bios update AND has more Voltage controllers than original (w/o WiFi). Only Gigabyte Gaming 7 is better, but gets hotter....
guys just remove plastic distancers from the vrm heatsinks so that screws have a tighter grip :* LOWER VRM tempatures !
That looks nothing like the Aorus Ultra board that I have. https://www.aorus.com/Z390-AORUS-ULTRA-rev-10
The vrms on aorus gaming 7 are excellent, more than necessary for running and oc a 9900k. The problem is that 80% of boards had an issue with plastic washers that the heatsink mounts onto. It creates a gap and the sink is not flush. It hits as high as 120 degrees, however if you shave away some of the washers, temps under load hit 60 - 75 degrees. Much better. Be warned, you can easily botch this if your shave away too much or unevenly.
so is the z390 ultra much better? I have an 8700k
Great review, thinking about getting this board
i have the same mobo. baught it when it came out with the intel i7 8700k.
clocked the 8700 to 4.9 ghz on all cores. intel burntest max stress,12h run max temp 80c on HWmonitor.
clocked it down to 4,5ghz on all cores now just to be safe.
Would the VRM Temps be manageable if you dont overclock for CPU renders?
Only one LAN port, haven't Display port.......bad for it price.
I have no issues with this board my temps never go above 60c but that's mostly because of my build/airflow / watercooling
Excellent video /subscribed
I find such a cavalier attitude towards something like VRM cooling essentially not working baffling to be honest, especially coming from a tech reviewer. As mentioned elsewhere, the results indicate that the board was not properly designed or tested, which is a cause for concern regardless of what the product is called and should be an automatic no-no for anyone who cares about PC tech and reviewers pretty much by definition.
Are you testing Z370 Ultra gaming 1.0? Could you test if 2.0 version has the same VRM's issues?
Hi great review, I wonted but this MOBO for archrendering but after this video I change mind :D but now cen you please somebody help me what MOBO is goof for fully loaded owerclocking i7 8700. (sometimes 10 hour) best price under 180 but if is no suitable could be under 280. for all answer thank you :D
The vrm's heatsink is not making good contact. some have tighten the screws to the max and have claimed to have had success while others have stated the the heatsink is not flat and have resurfaced it or sanded it flat and have claimed to have had success? have you tried any of these methods? Thank you for the review.
the 100 plus degreees on the vrm's made me give this board a wide berth
