Anyone know if you can play genshin impact like a tablet on this? I believe since its a desktop it doesnt recognise it as a tablet with vietual controls.

So, just FYI if you use the xg USB c charging port, it will give thr cpu the full juice as if you were using the xg mobile. Just hope you're okay with it running much hotter around upper 70s

Might sound like a stupid question but it does have a HDMI/ DPort or USB-C you can use to use this as a 2nd mini screen correct? Want to use this outside of home but possibly as a second screen at home

Great review, interesting device. I'm not a gamer but do a lot of multi-media stuff that uses a gpu, but not at the level of the most demanding games. So it's in a middle ground in between no discrete gpu like the Surface Pro 8, and a full-on gaming computer, which is overkill for me.I'd like to know how the inking/painting experience is on this. That's another feature I use a lot on my Windows devices. Anyway, thanks for an informative and nuanced review!

Meh! I would much rather pay more than triple for my Mac Pro, my Macbook Air, and my iPad Pro to (still fail to) do everything this one does.
i guess its a great maschine for cpu demanding games that doesnt requre a lot of gpu performance.
If I need an RTX3080 laptop, Same configuration lower price, even save 50%. Without the need for graphics cards docking stations, and other inexplicable accessories. Laptops are meant to be a convenience, not a drag.

A gaming tablet makes tons of sense. If they partnered with Microsoft and used the same doc hookup it would be a perfect home/work device that can game.
The screen response time is the only downside.

Can you use a different dock if you just want to run like 2 or 3 monitors on it? I'm not familiar with Asus laptops so I wasn't sure where with surface everything runs through that surface port and you get pretty much nothing else. Thanks!

Just ordered mine. Didn't get the mobile dock. But we'll see how it runs without it for now. I'm not super picky. Also plan on RTS games for now.Not concerned about weight or battery life. 7 hours is plenty. I usually stay plugged in most of the time anyway. And I expect weight if it's a gaming device.
I work offshore and decided to stop taking my laptop due to space and travelling weight. So for the past 3 years Ive just taken my Samsung Tablet S7 with me. Which is ideal for films/neflix but not for gaming.So would this be a good option? It would only be games like football/motorsport manager. Nothing gfx heavy

This isn't worth it, trust me. It is really cool, but you have the think about the major downsides that completely ruin this. The heat that this thing puts out is probably enough to cook burgers, and it doesn't have a big enough fan to keep the internals cooled down enough and enough heat will kill the pc. Regular gaming laptops get super hot with powerful fans, imagine how hot this nugget would get.

I had a sony tablet with a proprietary external GPU just before windows 8 came out. When I upgraded to windows 8 I found the external graphics card was no longer supported. I can see that happening with this as well if it lasts that long.
I would love to see battery life with using nVidia geforce now. We all know that, unless you are plugged in, you will not get hours of gaming on this. But how does this do when you have a decent internet connection and use nVidia Geforce now or even stadia. What are we expecting to get out of the battery.

This is think is a poor first draft of what I hope to see in the future, tablets that are basically gaming laptops in their own right.
I've seen the device has huge security flaws & GPU is not even close to Alienware, doesn't even have advanced nano sim or LTE, plus the Ryzen processor conflicts with games and software, DELL XPS, Razor and Surface Pro even Macbook can do allot more than this device, Asus will one day get there but its definitely not this
