I hired this vehicle and it’s fine EXCEPT for the lane assist feature which did my head in. It makes the car wander in its lane making it tiring to steer, and constantly chimes and warns you to hold the steering wheel even though I had a death grip on it already. When I found the kill switch for the damn system it transformed the steering into a much more direct and predictable experience. Citroen, your lane keep assist is half baked. Put it back in the oven please.

First of all, sorry to tell you like this but - you are not funny. Stop whatever you are trying to do and just tell the story about the car. Secondly, you sound as if you had never driven a Citroen before so you are constantly surprised by its driving characteristics ?! Have you been living in a flowerpot for last .ever ? Proper Citroen is always floating over the road, it is sinking on braking and tends to body roll in corners. Thanks to "journalist" like yourself, we, the normal drivers, curse today's modern cars for they are way too uncomfortable and way too harsh over every bump on the road (That Skoda you are yapping about is hell for bad back). Well, most of them at least. Instead of floating on 21st century technology and comfortable suspension people like you wants to have "sporty" or "sportier" ride, more direct steering response, sharp cornering- it is a family car for Pete's sake; regardless if it is a SUV, or saloon, compact.whatever it is , the emphasis is on "family" by default unless upgraded and paid otherwise. It is supposed to be comfortable ride, you hippo. Are you driving WRC championship or driving kids to school? Who ever is having wet dreams about fast corners for sure is not putting his money down for Renault Espace or.Aircross C5. So take the car for what it is and stop complaining for whatever isn't.

I have Vauxhall Astra Estate , once I sat on rear seat and got sick in about 30min journey thought about poor kids at the back now! Very comfortable car, my dad got one exactly for that. He is 72 has a bad back and knees and just wants to get from A to B and sometimes C in comfort. Very comfortable practical car. But yes having a sport button on this car is like putting a sport button on an armchair.

I have a question: why isn’t the C5 Aircross offered with LED headlights in the UK, even as an option when they’re offered in other markets where it’s sold? Here in the UK, C5 Aircross buyers have to make do with old-fashioned halogen headlights like on an old Austin Metro.
There are two things that slightly annoys me, the excessively wide central tunnel and the potato rear view camera. As for stability in corners look at the video of a Spanish YouTube channel called something like 77 km I don’t remember. The funny thing is that the C5 aircross is faster than many sedans and almost all the SUVs at the moose test.
I applaud Citroen for being different and designing in comfort rather than "sportiness." Great review, as ever.
