I bought 2 kinds of sun hood and every time i position the camera down it will capture part of the hood. This is only suitable when shooting forward but if i have plans to shoot below or down, i have to take it off. I wonder if they could make a sun hood that will eliminate this problem.

Why, oh why, can they not make these hoods with the camera centered in the hood - so simple to do and saves all messy modifications

Is it me or the in use footage with the sunhood appears much more overexposed and colors much more dim than in the example without it
Looks like the shield may affect the forward VPS sensors - does it cause false positives with the sensors?
Haven't got one yet, but I thought one of the pluses of the Mavic was being able to look up a bit. Will this affect that?
It isn't pretty but it looks like it will work well. I've been holding off on buying one if these (or making my own) because I didn't like how much it showed up in the shot. This one seems to solve that issue. Thanks again for the great review.

I just got mine today. The shade is great but the transport edition is hard to remove once installed. And the camera is not levelled when attached compared to the original gimbal lock. Im a bit scared it might damage my gimbal when attached. Thank again
The problem I see straight away with the flight hood shade is it's shiny on the inside. You'd have to sand and flock it for it to be of any use. Otherwise being shiny it will reflect into the lens.

I found the protection transport hood not to fit the gamble very well so I snipped off the two retaining clips and use the original gimble clip as I think the hood does give very good protection to the gimble and if you do you're pre flight checks properly you will not leave you're gimble clamp on

maybe cut a hole in that all in one gimbal cover to see if its holding right like the one that comes with the mavic but if u said u can buy clear one then no point in cutting a hole
I gave up on the gimbal clamp on day 1, watching your video has made me think that integrated version must be safer - so off to purchase
Nice video as always. I like the idea that they do this protection hood in clear transparent, I think it would be easier to fit than the black version. But what use is a clear sun hood, surely they would have been better to leave that black. :)

I got this set. Really like the sun shade dome, but agree with a previous comment that it would have been better if they added a bit of an extruding shade to the top of it. It is much nicer than the flimsy 3D printed ones I've seen. I like the square edged gimbal protector, but didn't like it's gimbal lock tabs. I just couldn't tell if I was getting it on right or if it was tweaking my gimbal. So I broke those two dog ears off and still use the stock gimbal lock with red ribbon (just like yours :>
Once go through all the trouble to make the mold for the injected sunshade, yet they didn't bother to improve the complete design by adding a sun visor to where it's most needed. At lease the all-in-one protection cover/gimbal clamp was a good idea.

I also filed out the opening of the camera sunshade to open up the top. It go longer comes into view.
I bought one of these and I highly recommend it Make yourself a extendable stylus to help in pushing on screen controls in the corners
