Yes, or you just tak le some acrylic glass, put your carbon fiber in between two sheets of the acrylic and that sandwich you can press with clamps between some straight stuff, some strong plywood, e. g. The acrylic glass can should be removable without putting on a release agent. No peal ply, no release agent, no multiple steps.
I have problems with removing the plate from the glass surface. can you mention the release agents for application and release agent composition

I had similar problems with removing peel ply before. Used Carbon fibre weave, foam and unidirectional c fibres on an aluminum mold, also resin infusion
Hi Matthieu! i try to understand the purpose of the biaxial fiber reinforcement. i understand it's minus 45 and plus 45 degrees. my question is: why not using regular fiber reinforcement just turned 45 degrees? wouldn't be the same thing? thank you & best regards! ;-) Mircea
never tear the peel ply . cut it . and peel also way faster way to do this is to just compress 2 glass panels . one has to be under the bag if u use glass on glass it will break obviously
Regarding your peel ply sticking. The handful of times its happened to me is when using non coated peel ply for an extended cure time. Once the epoxy hits full hardness its a pain on non coated peel ply. With coated peel ply I never had much of an issue.
No pregel on bonding (wet on dry). No surface preps on raw peel ply. Use solid plate on bothside on final vacc for better result. Good job anyway. Carry on
I been using two glass sheets inside a vacuum bag for these types of panels for years. Just wet out the sheets, orient them in whatever pattern you want or layered with kevlar etc. Then when cured, we use an Air Injected Wedge to help split the pieces away from the glass.
Cool. I always thought that this was done between 2 sheets of glass and infused as normal. Is the piece any less strong being two separate laminations.
Have you ever attempted making a square tube from carbon fiber? I am very interested in possibly making a carbon fiber frame for a vehicle, but don't know how thick it would need to be, in order to be structurally sound.
Yes I have had lots of issues getting Dacron Peel Ply off my parts. I have tried coating the Peel Ply with Teflon and Silicone Spray. Still very difficult and it does not leave a glossy finish.
