I’m late to the game, but I’m a beginning runner and there’s a 620 near me (no strap) on Marketplace for $75 and there’s a VivoActive 3 for $50 and I can’t decide if I’m gonna get $25 additional benefit from an older watch as a beginner. There’s also a 735xt with straps for $125, but, again, I’m a beginner so I don’t know if it’s overkill at this point and if age of the watch matters. Will it last for me to “grow into” the benefits of the straps? I need some training help, e.g., Garmin Coach and I think all of these will help with that, but there’s so much out there!! Thoughts?

Hey Jeff, I have a question that you can maybe help me with. I can get a new 735XT for 200€ and a 645m for 300€. Wich one would you advice to buy if you assume I dont care about the music option? Are there any real differences that make the 645 much better and worth the higher price?

Bought one for my wife in Feb 2018. Packed up today (May2020). The screen has random lines across it which according to the internet means it has let some water in. Disappointing as I've just ordered another for my daughter 😬

Hi. I was thinking about buying this watch for running until you said in the the review that we should buy a different watch if we weren't using it for triathlon. Which Garmin watch would you recommend then? I would like it to be able to work with the running dynamics pod and running should be the primary use. I cannot afford a fenix, so it should be priced as the 735xt (or less). Thanks :-)
Ive had this watch for about 3 months Overall i am happy with it for all activities However like many other brands wthout a chest strap the wrist hr monitor is almost useless at higher rates of exersise Its fine for low intensity activity As an example today i ran a 20k training session at a moderate pace for me and my heart rate was indicated on my wrist at well over threshold rate of 175 + When i tested it the old fashion way finger on my neck my actual hr was about 120

Fantastic review. I’ve bought the 735xt after watching this review and the other one you did comparing it with the 935 and Fenix. You’ve saved me £££ as Amazon had a deal on it for £157 and I had a £30 amazon voucher, so effectively got the watch for £127!! I’m on a journey, lost 33lbs during lockdown, running 5k per day and cycling 20 miles per day indoor bike. Going to get back into swimming and start training for triathlon. This watch looks like it will give me all I need. Thank you again! 😀 oh and well done for actually replying to most of the comments on your videos, a lot of other channels don’t bother 👍
Thank you for your video. I've used 735XT for the last 18 months (I was using 235 before, but needed some more swimming fonctions). I have no complain about fonctions and information the watch is providing to me, but after 18 months, the battery is dead, no way to recharge the device, neither through the computer plug, nor with a charger. Hope it is just bad luck for me, and next one will last more. As a reference, I had a Garmin Forerunner 305 (!) for more than 6 years without any problem...

Is the battery life still good after a year? Do you think the battery will last for first time triathletes as they will obviously take longer to finish? Great job on the video
I have had a FR25 and FR35 got this as an update with more functionality. As with the FR35 the built in heart rate monitor is way off being accurate when training. A 5K run yesterday for example 22 minutes with a HR of 206. Similar situation with my FR35. Chest strap essential to give good training zone metrics. Great review by the way.
How accurate is the distance tracker? Is it near 100% accurate? ( i mean like if you run 1km does it mark around 1km or has a 30m+ distance)

Awesome watch, a lot of functionalities and customizations imgs.love/GarminF645?mをH I’ve been using only the Run activity and it’s great. I’m come from an Apple Watch and the only thing I missing is the touchscreen, but it's easy to get used to the buttons Maybe the only thing to point is the need to wait to GPS signal ok before start a run in order to get accurate metrics. If you start a run without GPS signal ok the watch doesn’t try to get it done in the middle of the run.

Can you compare with garmin 245?
It has drawbacks of being older gen though. Less smart features like payments and music. No barometer (at the time of it's release, competition had it in their watches at that price point). Wrist sensor is older gen and lacks accuracy. No wrist HR during swimming. By comparison, Polar Vantage M might be a better option - but I'm still deciding.

Be careful abouth this watch. It has wery good things on. But do not swim with the watch.
You will see in some time wather will destroy it, it happens on 90%of 735xt watches, read some blogs this watch isn't weatherproof
