Well, the same memory today is about 80-90$ CND. with promo on Newegg. I bought 2 4gb sticks, but its kind of weird that the price goes up over time.
Nice, thanks for the information, mate. I really like the color (Yes that's important to me) as I was originally going for a red color theme.. Black would have been good. I ordered a P8Z77-V PRO. It seems like an awesome board, the only problem I have with it is it's Color layout. It's not that much of a worry though, I was thinking of blending the colors.
asrock z77 extreme 4 if you want to SLI 2 gpu's later, If not then save some cash and get a asrock z77 Pro 4. The z77 series is one of the best series with lga 1155 socket on it, i actually just ordered a z77 extreme 4 for myself with 8gb of g.skill ripjaw. Hope this helps.

G'day mate. Just wondering if you could shed some light on a little problem I'm having. I have decided to upgrade and build a new computer. So far I have purchased a New case and an i7 3770k. I am going to use some of my old PC's parts: 1200Wat PSU GTX 570 and 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws Gaming Series I was wondering if you could recommend a 1155 socket MB that's compatible with this set of RAM. Google is being a little difficult so have turned to the youtube community.

My motherboard is asus p8h67-m lx, flashed from i3 2100 to latest bios. I installed i7 3770 with this ram 1x8gb. I can't go past ddr3 1333. I can see it has xmp cas 10 @1600 at system spec in bios, but my motherboard does not have any xmp option or ddr3 1600. So @ 1333 my best option is lower timings. I have switch to 8-8-8-24 at stock volt running smoothly but I am wondering if I can lower to 7-7-7-20@stock 1.5volt.

I just bought 2 x 4GB DDR3 for £20 and they look identical to these - to be fair though they are still slimmer and lower than the old Patriot ones I had in there those things were tanks! Its my first custom PC that I bought broken as spares and fixed, so at this point I am just trying to upgrade when I can, and as cost efficiently as possible and at the same time I am trying to learn what works well with what. Im happy with them but is just a shame I couldn't get another 2 because my board can take 16GB and now I have 2 red and 2 blue sticks. Would be nice to find another pair of 4GB's like mine to install, both as an upgrade and visually so I will deffo be keeping my eyes peeled for some more of these.

This ram is a very good value. Specifically the 8gb sticks at cl10. I use 2 of them Overclocked to 2133mhz still at cl10 just by bumping the voltage. Ddr3 is safe for a little over 1.65v. I set mine to 1.65@2133cl10 and it runs perfect on an i7 4770k Overclocked to 4.7ghz. All for the price of 1600mhz instead of the premium for the higher rates sticks. The higher rates sticks are literally the exact same ram. Right down to the actual pcb of the stick. For $30 more and a blue heat spreader instead of a red one. The value of the hardware from the last 2 generations is amazing. It's dirt cheap and is only about 5-10% slower in general than the current flagships.

The QVL on the RAM side and motherboard side is very, very important. If it's not on the list, then it's not worth getting if you want top performance right away. This came in very handy when picking out the ram I used on my system, and it was worth the time and effort.
