I have this RAM, sad it doesn't work in z170K on full speed. 2800 ~2900 mhz is max. I liked the video, but it misses the point that XMP profiles often don't work and you have to do some tweaking with power, system agent, etc.

I use these four RAM coolers on an E-ATX SuperMicro HD11DSi-NT board with 2000 (2TB) GB DDR4 ECC RAM (Enthoo Primo case). There are 16 modules in 4 banks (8 modules per CPU). The dual AMD EPYC CPUs are air cooled with the stock AMD side-draw air coolers. The dual RTX TITAN GPUs are liquid cooled; unlike this video, we do not have concerns about the PCB proximity of the GPUs to any other components, as we're using the EKWB liquid cooling blocks. I don't know how much effect these RAM coolers would have on a gaming rig, given the low density DDR4 RAM (e.g. 16 or 32 GB per module) - but as mentioned in the video gaming rigs are not really pushing RAM components that hard; 38oC under maximum load is nothing to worry about and I would agree that RAM coolers for those temperatures are unnecessary (BTW: MEMTEST is not a good RAM stress benchmark; on a LINUX rig would be better). But if you're using an E-ATX board in a tower (non-2U rack) configuration, and when using 128 GB (maybe even 256 GB) per module, heat generation by the DIMMs is not negligible. These coolers drop the temperatures from 75oC to 35oC under maximum computational load - I highly recommend these GSkills Turbulence III RAM cooler fan kits for high density RAM banks where air flow is restricted (tower configurations).
As this is a "soft" mod (as opposed to doing custom modification) would some mild modifications make a difference (such as a little silicon sealant to fasten the brackets to the MoBo)? And would a larger MoBo be an option for the graphics card clearance issue?

The QVL on the RAM side and motherboard side is very, very important. If it's not on the list, then it's not worth getting if you want top performance right away. This came in very handy when picking out the ram I used on my system, and it was worth the time and effort.

Mich würde mal ein Vergleich DDR3-DDR4 interessieren. Und wenn es kein direkten Vergleich möglich macht die Latenz und den Takt angleichen. Ist DDR4 wirklich so viel besser außer mal Stromspareffekt ausgelassen, rein von der Geschwindigkeit meine ich. Aktuell ist DDR4 außer teuer gar nichts:( Wird Z107 oder H107 je nach dem wie Intels neuer Chipsatz heißt DDR4 unterstützen. Ich will mir nochmals 16 GB 2x 8 kaufen finde aber 150 Euro dafür etwas zu teuer, 80-100 würde ich dafür ausgeben aber nicht nochmals 150 Euro. Ich wollte ursprünglich auf DDR4 warten und DDR3 überspringen habe mich aber dann als ich die Preise sah doch umentschieden, werde wohl erst 2018/2019 auf DDR4 umsteigen, evtl. gibt´s dann schon DDR5. Bei DDR Speicher war ich noch nie aktuell, CPU hatte ich auch immer das Vorjahresmodell, mit dem 4790k bin ich das erstmal CPUmäßig aktuell. Ich finde es klasse das sie auch annäherend die anderen Farben gezeigt haben. Ich habe aktuell Kingston Valueram, würde ich welche mit Kühler nehmen würde ich auch blau wählen. Finde aber irgendwie nackte Riegel sehen besser aus. Haben nicht die 2011 8 RAMbänke? Da dürfte es doch bei nur 4 Riegel gar kein Problem geben.
