In lens stabilization is the dumbest idea in any lens because having that reduces the image quality.

Hi, I'm a Canon user about to make the switch to Fuji I've ordered an XT1 I'm interested in this lens to replace my Canon 135 focal length I've seen a review where it seems to struggle in low light and as I need to use it at times in a wedding reception which is usually in fairly low light I was just wondering if you could shed any light on this?
Great review hands on with real pictures that’s what I needed. All I can say It’s beautiful it’s fast and weather sealed.
I have the 90 f2 and the 23 1.4 best combination in my opinion for portraits

I have both the 56 and 90. The one advantage of the 90mm for portraits is more DOF with a model composed the same in the frame so one can get the entire head of the model in focus without sacrificing background bokeh. To get all the bokeh of the 56mm at f1.2 if you don't absolutely nail the eyeballs you've lost the shot. Not so the 90mm. But in anything less than bright conditions consider the X-H1. With IBIS the 90mm becomes the ultimate night stalker on the street, clubs or concerts.

Another great revue oh and the XF 80mm is a corker got one recently look forward to your review on it. I'm spoilt for portrait primes now. I really must get out with 90mm it's my least used prime along with 14mm 2.8.
Thank you for your thoughts, Damian. After a while of thinking I bought this lens two weeks ago because there was a special offer here. When I unpacked it, I noticed that it sounded like something inside was loose and would fall around when you turn it back and forth or shake it a little. This was no longer the case when I mounted it on the camera and turned the camera on. My feeling was that it stopped as soon as there was power on the autofocus motor. I've never had anything like this with a lens before. My dealer couldn't tell me if it was normal. I returned the lens then, but the new one is similar, though not quite so clear. Therefore my question to you and possibly others who read here: Has anyone had similar experiences? Do I have to return the lens again? The function doesn't seem to be impaired after the first tests. But I'm a little worried that something will come along, in case of doubt shortly after the warranty has expired. :-D. Thank you for a short feedback.
I don’t get it with Fuji lenses. Up to -10celsius Is that what Fujifilm calling cool. Sometimes it can come up to -20 were i live (Sweden), and i live in southern part. Oh well i will se how the x-t3 with lenses can handle cold when i am taking it with me to Svalbard in March
I am new at Fuji coming from Nikon full frame. I started with the xt3 and a couple of lenses (23f2 and 50f2). Next lens is arriving (16-55 f2.8). Although I love xt3 I am still missing some Nikkor glass. I do love portraits, the 50 f2 is a good lens but I do not see the magic of the Nikkor 85 1.8G. I am hesitating between the 56 1.2 or the 90 f2. Another change to consider is selling the 23 f2 and go for a 35 f1.4. What do you think?

I've just arrived to the X world with the X-T3. I come from Nikon full frame and I do not know clearly which lenses to pick. I made a move buying the 23 f2 and the samyang f2. But I am hesitating about the 50 f2, the 56 f1.2. The 56 costs more than twice the 50. It is so great to justify that difference?
I got the 10-24, 18-55 35,1.4, 56 1.2 and I'm considering 55-200 or 90 f2 it's mostly for wildlife and portraits
I keep on coming back to this review. I own the 50mm and the 56mm (and the 23f2!). I do a hell lot of street photography and the 56mm is too slow for my pace. I mean, I love it, it's absolutely gorgeous. But I wish I could use it more often (and I hate hiding it whenever I see rain). Still trying to decide on my next step. Either 16mm1.4/90mmf2/50-140mm. Even though my biggest concern is that I currently own an x-e3 and I'm afraid I'll put the camera under a lot of stress. What do you think?
I almost have enough to get the xf90. I need to save a lil more. The only thing im worried about is having my iso and shutterspeed high for this lens most of the time on my xt3

Wth your subject standing up (let's say a 6-foot model), does the 90mm has a better background separation, as compared to the 56mm? Or the difference is negligible?
I love my 56/ i need a 120mm 2.0 (180mmFF) for , the 50/140 is "for me" to big an i want a prime‍♂️ 16/1.4, 23/1.4, (35/1.4backup), 56/1.2 an a 120/ dream

I was thinking about getting the 56mm but not sure wether I should buy the 90mm. I shoot fashion and mostly full body pics, and I'm always looking for a nice bokeh so the subject would stand out. What would you say it's best for that kind of photos?
Copping the X-T4 and this lens as a birthday present to myself. And it sounds like this lens is the business.
137mm is really hard to work with as your only portrait/studio focal length, from a practical perspective. You'd have to be like 30 feet away for a full body fashion shot. 85mm (the 56mm 1.2) is hard enough but this alone is just not a good choice. The 35mm 1.4 and the 56mm 1.2 are so dependable for studio and street, I can't imagine breaking up that simplicity for such a special use lens.
just google the upcoming 50mm 1.0, damn thing is going to cost about 1500 usd/ 2000+ CADI think I will just buy the 50mm 2.0 then, costing 600 Canadian here.
I have the 90/2 since a few months back and have now used it for a number of portrait-sessions. I use it with the X-T2 (w. battery grip) but find motion blur even at 1/200th of a second at a fairly high percentage of the shots. What do you feel is the minimum "safe" shutter speed?

My type of shooting portrait need this lens. I shoot the subject only and don't need space that much as i shoot the background differently. IBIS?- not needed, Space? - Not needed, Low Light? - Not needed, Sharpness? - Yes needed! . If you care about low light shoot RAF/RAW and get the peace.

The manual controls on the fujifilm system is one of the things that sets them apart from the competition. I’ve never heard anyone ever say anything negative about that until just now. If you don’t like that about fujifilm then it’s not going to be for you but fujifilm customers (myself included) love this. Great camera equipment
