Thanks for the video. Very good and contains a lot of details. I would like to buy a Fujifilm x-t4. My request would be though I know this is not a wish program for you to make a video in which you specifically rate the video. Compared to the xf 16-55 f2.8 and Xf 16-80 f4 with the fujifilm x-t4 camera. Using real hand-held video and no gimball. Projecting both videos at the same time if you can while standing and walking. This is unfortunately missing from youtube and the comparison you made is very good. I wish you more fruitful work.

Great review. I'm trying to decide between this and the 16-80 for my X-T4. The 16-80 is lighter, which would be nice. But image quality is very important to me, especially for video, so I'm leaning towards this lens. And it's not much more expensive than the 16-80.

Hello, this Lens is on sale right now for $899 on BH Photo vs $799 for FUJIFILM XF 16-80mm f/4. I am thinking about buying XT-4, would spending $100 more worth getting 16-55mm F2.8 over 16-80 F4 for 1st general purpose zoom lens?

Great video! And the lens is beautiful. But what would you say would be your lens pick for the X-T4 if you're a hybrid shooter, so you shoot both video and photo and you want to carry around just one lens?

I imagine it would be interesting to do a direct compare with their 16-55 kit lens. Of course, only in terms of sharpness. At the moment I forget if the kit has image stab.
thank you again for the videos. just your honest opinion do you like this camera more than the sony a6400? i had that (6400 but sold it with 16mm sigma 1.4) but was considering the a6600 with sigma trio, or xt4 with 16 f1.4 and 50 f1 mainly shooting for landscrape and some subject photo, my throw in some short instagram videos too.

Which lens can I buy with Fuji X -T100
I've been shooting this combo since my gh4 decided to die two months ago. It has been doing product photography as well as promotional video and has upped my production values significantly. My main gripe is Fuji tethering into Capture 1, cannot beleive they sell it as a full integration when the camera can't have it's exposure settings controlled from the computer or be fired why live view is running. I shoot flat lay on a high tripod a lot and it drives me mad. Lucky the colours are gorgeous and it feels so good when I shoot handheld.
I own and love this lens, but it is very cumbersome and very heavy.

Agree. As a Fuji Shooter I have shot the 18/55 & 16/80. The 16/55 is a step up in overall image quality frame to frame. Actually most of the Fuji XF glass is excellent.
Hi Dustin, thank you for another nice review. How do you find the continuous autofocusing in video with this lens? Did you find the same issue of losing focus as the 50-140 lens did? Thank you.
Does ibis play well with this lens when using on an xt-4? Ibis is great on the 18-55 kit, but on wider angle not so much (warpy corners) so I'm curious how well it works with this lens.
Costly, great for images, but not so good for videos - summary of this lens.

At 4:04 when you zoom in there is noticable steps in exposure. This also happens with the kit lens 18-55 with the aperture set to f4. The question is what are your settings there? I mean I want to avoid these exposure steps - are you using auto ISO? If it doesnt have the steps with all manual settings it would be great..
I'm more than happy with the 18-55mm kit lens. I don't see the F2.8 as an advantage for the extra money.

Honestly, I'd say in that Eye-AF comparison, the Fuji AF was actually doing a lot better than the Sony

This is by far my favorite lens. I missed OIS. But finally... the X-T4 now has IBIS 😊👍 I can’t wait to use it with my 16-55.
if the XT4 has ibis, I'm almost definitely getting that model, even though an xt3 is a great buy and going to be a great camera for a very long time to come. i have a gimbal for doing video work w/ my a6400, but when you want to do some quick draw video and not set up gimbal ibis would sure be nice

2:53 mark Best part of the lens. No need to be negative and mislead, if you're not familiar with Fuji. Stick to reviewing what you use.
For video, this lens is a beast. It's a great all rounder and is very sharp. It's a lot lighter than the equivalent DSLR combo. Although it lacks OIS, that's not a killer for me as I use a gimbal or a rig anyway. If you want a bokeh monster go for the 56mm f/1.2. Still for a great all rounder lens, this is a fantastic option.

Yeah, well 55mm cropped is still 55mm, just cropped. You won't get the DOF of an 82.5mm FF lens. I really hate the whole 35mm equivalence scam. For portraits, the lenses you want are the 56 f/1.2 or the 90mm f/2.
Can you help me with your advice? I plan to put this lens on an XT3 with a moza air fly 2 gimbal. I want to know if it will work and balance well with the gimbal, and if not, how can I make it work? I want it to be my go-to lens for cinematography
I have took portraits at f2.8 with nice bokeh not as creamy as f1.4 lens but perfectly fine.

Questionable lens to invest in, reasonable if you can get a good copy but to much of a gamble. Only bother with the following for serious work, trust me. 16mm, 80mm, 90mm or 56mm if you ok with the older technology in this lens. These are the best in quality and if you compare the others with these you will smile. However, consider these if you just shooting for fun and want decent quality and keep the mirrorless system small and light, 35mm F2 or 50mm F2. This is just for those who want the best possible from Fuji.

Nice review. Though one should mention that Canon still doesn't have an 24-70 2.8 IS and the Nikon VR version was only introduced in 2016. If I recall correctly the Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC was the first lens of this kind with any kind of IS. So while one could argue that IS should be standard today it would also make the lens bigger and heavier. Plus, photographers managed without is in these standard zooms for quit some time...
It's a good lens but for crop sensor camera you need something more like the sigma 18-35 f1. 8
