YES the lens is made of metal, (hint is in the name X F, "F" stands for "fancy" in the lineup); X C the other range can be remembered in this way: c in X "C", think P.V.C, (P.- stands for Plastic body, no aperture ring or adjustment on lens{Poor mans' lens}, V- in p.v.c stands for VARIABLE aperture as you zoom, C stands for clouds, as in not as sharp an image (aka foggy day)).

Thank you for the video, looking forward to own my first camera and wanted to get an all rounder, lot of people praised the xt series Just some questions: Did you receive the camera with the box as you showed in your video, with no seal/plastic wrap? I got an offer here in Dubai for 5500aed which translates to 1497USD with a kit lense XF18 55, should I get it ? Or can I negotiate a little bit more ?

I was making the decision between z6 and xt3 for half years and decided to buy xt3. That 16-80 glass is just mindblowing. The lenses are much cheaper then Z glasst and so many good 3rd lenses also. As a hobbyist, I think I made the right choice.

Why can't these camera companies make the lcd screen pop out so we can vlog? For such a simple feature it would mean a great deal more sales!
No image stabilization so has limitations when used for vlogging.

The a6500 is definitely not the X-T3's main rival. At least compare the AF capabilities with the A7III.

XT - TREE?
The Fuji is almost there. If they can keep the form factor and increase the size of the battery, include IBIS, articulating screen and remove the flimsy drive/metering dials, this would be one hell of a camera.
He is trying too hard to find flaws about xt3. Next level biased.
the a6500 is not the rival, that will be the new one a6700 / a7000
Is like christmas for reviewers youtubers nowadays, Sony A7III, Canon EOS R, Nikon Z, Fuji Xt3, Panasonic S1 I mean come on, we are getting so many reviews and comparisons (and some of them not even good comparisons) that it is hard to make a choice! and probably Sony will be releasing a A7000 and an A7sIII soon! And the worst part is. there is still no perfect camera yet! at least for me!
Gh5 has better video AF! What did I miss?
bias review , reviewer clearly personally leaning towards the sony and other full frame cameras , claiming conclusions without additional support and testing, it seems like i will not be watching camera reviews from engadget anymore. lol.
Actually stopped watching after stating the video AF is not as good as the EOS R or the GH5. Both those cameras the GH5 in particular have been panned for their awful AF. The dual pixel AF is strong on the higher end Canon DSLR's, but the reviews for the EOS R have been nowhere near as positive regarding video autofocus.

18-55 is good for video, I almost buy 35 f2, but I am considering 18-55 because it have wider angles for travel. I read some comments, 35 f2 have best sharpness at f4, not f2. 18-55 is f2.8-4. What is 35 f2' s advantage, weight and size
What was your hit rate with the eye AF (for photos, if you took any with the XT3)?

Nice work. I LOVE my XT3 and I’ve found my 23mmF2 is really fast to focus, quiet, sharp and smooth. I don’t use the 23 for stills as much, but for vids it’s GREAT.especially in low light! Give it a try.

I'm coming from the Canon system. I shoot primarily with 24-70 2.8 II. I'm really in interested in the x-t3, but in doubt about the lens. Is the image quality of the 18-55 nearly comparable to the 24-70? People rave so much about this lens but I'm not sure of how much of it is fanboyism

Footage looks great and that's a kit lens ! Things are gonna get better as time comes with firmware updates. BTW I just ordered the 50-140 and is very excited to use it with my silver XT3.
thanks for the effort and the sharing. footage looks great and the focus really held up. if i may ask, was the posted footage shot internally or externally? i ask because on the x-t3's back screen it appears that the hdmi is engaged. if externally, to what recorder? thumbs up.

Looks good the eye af on video! maybe you have to complicate more the scene for the camera with the model walking or turning around also test in low light (it's only an idea because your work are great )big improvement for fuji.
