The AF missing is the reason why its not my favorite lens at the moment. Might just be my copy, but I have it set to af-c, focused right on the subject, with at least 1/100 shutter speed and it misses. Didn't think it was the lens till i continued to use it longer.
do you have older made in japan copy or newer Made in china?
What are the in camera corrections used (around 3:17)?

Hi! I have a question regarding the Fuji XF 18-55mm lens. I just bought a second-hand copy of this lens and it makes a grinding noise I am not sure it is normal. When the aperture is on the smaller end (or whenever it is not on the widest aperture), the blades will instantly close up to the respective f stop when I half-press the shutter button. But when I release the shutter I can hear the blades making the noise as the aperture opens fully back up. Closing up makes a noise, but is fast and smooth, but when the blades open back up I can hear the noise but also notice a more stepped motion of the blades. Is this normal Thanks

How was the focus breathing when you tested this lens?
I think 26mm f/5.6 is the sweet spot then, isn't it? No distortion, sharpest all around and no vingetting.
I have been shooting with XT-4 and this lens for 3 weeks now (for a review) and in my opinion this is literally the worse lens that I have ever used. I got more sharpness from cheap Chinese lenses than this. I don't know if it is just not eight for XT-4 but it is a huge disappointment for me :(

Anyone can tell me why most of the Fuji lenses no have image stabilisatin ? This is huge downside only this zoom lens has and few of the 35mm focal lenght have.
I've been shooting with an a6000 for a few months. I enjoy the camera but hate navigating through menus, the viewfinder is pretty bad, and the lenses are expensive for a hobby photographer. Would you reccomend ditching my Sony for one of these? Seems like an amazing camera

Thanks for the comprehensive review. It was best that I have seen for these days. I have two basic questions as I am new in photographing. I set max aperture in manual mode and then start zooming does that aperture change in relative to zoom scale? is that aperture change effect can be viewed in viewfinder and display simultaneously before taking a shoot? How about shutter speed change. If I change shutter speed while viewing the object is that change effect can be seen in display? I noticed that advanced filter and film effects can be applied and shown in display before taking picture. Is that the same?
Can you please tell me how to set the aperture on this camera? for instance if you want to shoot in aperture priority, does it have an outside dial (like the knob for shutter priority), is it on the lens or do you have to go into the menu?. Thanks. Rick.
