Hey Chris! Any chance you'll be reviewing Fuji's 50-140mm?
Very informative comments, thanks a lot !
I just asked myself, how good this lens might be. Chris has the answer.
I recently bought this lens to supplement my 15-55mm kit lens for my XT3. Very happy with it.
1000th like 🔥🔥. I don't even know if the work 1000th exist. Anyways nice review
Hi there, I was wondering would this be a good beginner lens to pair with the Fuji X-H1 Camera? I'm buying it soon but don't yet have any lenses and am looking for something that isn't going to break the bank you know? I shoot a lot of hiking / landscape photos but I intend to do some portrait as well. What would you recommend? Thanks a lot! :)
Nice shots from llangrannog
Today I think I ran into the same issue you mentioned in the video. I was taking photos of a waterfall and shot several photos of it at 200mm. The first one was shot at f4.8 and then the rest was shot at f8. I did not notice anything wrong when I was taking the shots, but when I looked at the photos on the PC, the f8 photos looked very soft. The one f4.8 photo was sharper, but not REALLY sharp, you know. Not like the 56mm and the 90mm can get. Anyway, it was very surprising to see how soft the f8 photos were. And also it was annoying!
My main complaint with this lens is Zoom creep when held upwards. I wish I'd stuck to primes. I'm never buying another zoom.
Can I mount in my x-t3
How is the speed for focusing? I am considering this lens for youth football photography. I use an X-T3.
Does anyone get zoom creep on your copy?
Good job on your channel dude. Great style on your reviews. To the point! Cheers!
I just got this lens for a bargain of a price, at 180 dollars I believe it was a steal, I came running over here to look at the review (wich I usually do prior to purchasing lenses though)...great buy and even greater les review, as always, thank you very much Sr.
Love this lens imgs.love/Nikon55?de It focuses very fast. Handles depth of field well. The zoom is smooth. The VR handles 200 mm hand held shoots at reasonable shutter speeds well. I regularly shoot at 200mm at 1/60th with out any problems. The lenses is a little heavy, but for its quality and durability that should be expected. I have no real complaints and would recommend this product.
Please do 18 135 review
This is a nice lens. Your results are simular to mine. It is suprisingly goo for airshows as well. Although that is where you will run into a few of its limitations. The IOS is pretty dam good. I found at the slightly zoomed in range of about 130mm it is at its sharpest. 200mm you will loose some sharpness & contrast, for most subjects this is fine, the odd ones, not so.
Like several other Fuji lenses, I really wish Fuji would update this lens to more recent standards ie WR, better AF etc. Otherwise this seems like a very useful zoom range in relatively small package. Thanks for the video.
i'm not a full expert on cameras yet but was interested in this. I've got a XE2s. Does anyone know how well it works with a fuji macro adaptor?? i'm kind of struggling with the standard 35mm fixed lens i have getting close up macro shots and wanted to avoid getting a dedicated macro lens. any help/tips gratefully appreciated
I have this lens, and it’s main shortfall is backlit scenes... I had strong CA in this case, often so muc so that it’s hard to correct in post production... even in Capture One
Get your Fuji XF 55-200:
Got mine few months ago.. Really happy with the images.. You just have to know the limitations you will be fine. Im enjoying fujis old cameras lately.. Understanding how it works is the key.. I love fuji..
How did it work out for shooting the wedding?
I got this lens in my sights... nice vid bro...
Good review mate. Thanks.
I have a question. If i use the lens in vertical position with hood, it make a little zoom. Its normal? And the 55-200 is move easy to make zoom than 18-55.
Have a Nice day.
Damian entonces si lo usaste en la boda? Te pregunto porque estoy viendo uno a MUY buen precio en eBay... en lugar del 50-140 quiero comprar este 55-200 y el 90/2.
what the instrument music ,Damian?
How did it work out for shooting the wedding? I'm looking at renting to shoot a wedding in a couple of weeks - then possibly purchasing.
You usually have good reviews. This one is awful. Disjointed, repetitive, superficial. You can do better than a throw away review like this.
Great video and great lens! I picked mine up yesterday and have already taken few snapshot with it. For the price, the quality is just amazing. When the baseball season starts up again in Japan, it'll be getting a huge workout this year.
No help, lol. I’m a fast glass whore and snob. I have a lot of Canon left, including 70-200 2.8II. But I bought into xt2 for street and travel (art). I got a 55-200 due to size/weight, but I don’t like slow variable apertures and telescoping lenses. Seems sharp, but I’m concerned that I’m missing more than weight not getting the 50-140. I also have no WR lenses in my bag. (Aside from the Canon 70-200, I only kept Zeiss, all 9 of them and a 5d4.) The Canon zoom is too fat to fly with me— is the 50-140 too big to carry all day with a kit of primes?
I do not know why..I envy the beginning of your video, because I bought one Yesterday, and yes it drops the lenses all the time I carry it in the belt, simply does not get fixed in the place, very upsetting. The lens quality is ok, but I am disappointed it should have a lock.
The lens does extend when you keep it head down, mine does anyway.
Thanks for taking one for the team out in the cold Damian, thanks for posting, I really enjoy your videos.
If Fuji puts WR on it, I'd buy it right away.
Damian, how would you compare this to the 18-135mm? Coming from a prime user, I sometimes want a zoom lens.
Would Fujifilm XF 2x TC WR Teleconverter work with this lens?
Hi Damien !
I want to get the 50 to 140 for my dog sports with a X-T2 -.-----
Do ya mean that the af on the 55-200 is as fast like the 50-140 ? would be 649 euros against 1799 with the tc, that would mean i could get the 10-24 for free =)
Damn good review and great sense of humor. Thanks.
Great video!! Just picked up a used copy for $300😁
I got this lens for my boyfriend! I’m excited to give it to him for Christmas now! He’ll def b able to social distance w this. 😂
nice review, i just bought this lens... is the lens making sound when shaken?
Gracias por la revisión!!
Just got this lens a few days ago... and man.. I love it.
Hi, I use 35f2 and 56mm1.2, I take portrait shots. What kind of results does it give in 55-200 portrait shots? Sometimes there are moments when I say it would be nice to have a telephoto lens because
Background music is TOOOOOO loud
shut that stupid music off
Thank you for the detailed review. I will get this lens in the near future. Need to save up a bit. Subscribed! 👍🏽
Thanks for your thoughts! Great job!
Can you say anything about the af?
Heard that it's quite slow.. Do you think their might be any issues with photographing playing, running kids or wildlife?
appreciate the review! sample shots are super important to me so thankful you added some. subscribed (:
Another great video buddy, but please straighten that monitor behind you 😅
It is a very versatile lens with good image quality. I have often thought about switching to the XF 50-140mm but the size and cost of it does not justify that.
You know your talented when you can flip a 55-200mm lens in one hand!
Awesome review dude!!!
Great review! I’ve been looking to get this. Think I’ve made my decision now
My most used fuji lens. Sized to take out all day, use on walks in the countryside, can even get landscape shots and birds in flight. Focuses quick, great clarity. Well priced. Can't fault it.
You feel like that lens is big? Not saying you’re wrong, but it’s just funny how I feel like it’s small and light. Coming from full frame has probably changed my standards for size and weight. Also, I’ve become so used to having the 90 f2 on my lens, so when I got this lens and it was basically the same weight, I was very happy! I’m also very happy to be shooting with Fujifilm now days instead of ff!
Great shots btw! :)
I just get my new X-T4 with 16-80mm lens , and I think to complement my equipment the next purchase will be this telephoto lens, thanks for the info !!
Its great to see that you're replying each and every comment i hope this one fits my xa7
Which Fuji camera you are using with this lens.
https://youtu.be/HBagXxApnkw?t=277 your reaction made my day!
I freaking love this lens and can't imagine not having it with me on any hike. It's a keeper.
I appreciate the video. Thank you man.
That fucking music but I like this guy so I will keep watching
I love your enthusiasm, I get stoked like this too.
Pic looks noisy
Is it just me or is 50 per cent of YouTube Australian lol
How is it compared to the 50-140?
Get the gfx 50r and thank me later :)
lol...love your enthusiasm, but holy crap, you're a brave man shooting that lens at 200mm with the center column fully raised. A mouse can fart near the tripod and create noticeable camera vibrations the way you've got it setup.
I got this lens 4 years ago, and i love it
Been there in summer 2018 Triglav national park is mega. Hikers and photographers paradise. And Bled well I don’t need to say anything. Amazing place.
I have the XT2 and have been looking at getting the 55-200mm. Thanks for the review and sample photos! You just got a new subscriber! Howdy from Texas ;)
Love your clear explanations Matthew. Subbed. To shoot 12 Apostles with my XT20 thinking of getting the 55-200 vs 18-135 but need to keep budget down, your opinion?
Nice shots, and nice lens, even if the real telephoto fujifilm beast is the 100-400mm, sharper and longer (600eq) and you can add a 1.4x or 2x teleconverter (reaching 900eq or 1200 eq).
And even the new 200mm f2 (alzo in kit with 1.4x teleconverter, becoming a 300 f2.8) is awesome (probably sharper than diamond), but it cost like a car 😂
