I've had this camera since its release in 2011. It's now 2018 and, with the latest firmware update, it performs even better now than it did when it came out of the box.
Do not buy Fuji cameras. My lasted two years only. Don't even think about fixing it - the price is the same amount of a new one.I really regretted buying Fuji.
I have one. It's ok. But Notting amazing.

If they ditched the electronic viewfinder and the electronic focusing, i would absolutely buy it.
But no person was in focus.
Does the Fujifilm X100 still hold up against newer other cameras such as the Fuji X100S or X70 or Panasonic LX100?

Watching it again in 2016, I still love this review. It's those times that Kai did not approach a retro-styled camera as "well, here we have another retro-styled camera.." It was before Olympus OM-D's, Nikon Df, etc. It was the camera that started it all. Still great.

Just got a X100T. If you're thinking about this camera, GET IT. It's bloody amazing!
Just seems so expensive for something without interchangeable lenses. 
What's that lens hood? Does it come with the X100?
I bought the x100 when it first came out. Got the x100t when it came out, I much prefer the mk 1 and kept it and sold the T. The sensor on the mk1 produces better images in my opinion, even though controls are frustrating!
I know these were all shot with the camera itself, but were these essentially raw/built in film filters or did they turn out like this (in the video) from photoshop or other editing software?

Music is wayyyy tooooo loud, voice is fine but I have to turn the volume down when the music starts. You need to get your balance sorted.

Still use and love mine. I hope you realized that the audio from this camera isn't bad at all, actually I still love it for my concert clips, it has the best built-in mic of any digital camera I owned so far, certainly better than my other (newer) Fujis. :D As for video, autofocus doesn't work at all, so I prefocus it using the backbutton and then let it run with fixed focus, that works fine. High ISO shots turn out better using spot metering (again, concert photos...), that way 3200 still looks quite okay and film-like.

Fuji x100 looks like it still holds up. I ordered one off eBay used for about $300. Going to use it as my to go camera and not use my pixel 4xl, I love how it is very retro looking yet still modern.

I had a Olympus omd em10 ii but got rid of it because of my iPhone XR and now Samsung note 10 capable of obnoxiously decent pics but I miss shooting a real camera body so may pick up one of these
Just bought one used for 300 bucks. Amazing camera and since I am deeply into horology I now can take amazing shots of my watches hehe

It really is the photographer that does good photos and not the age of the camera. Good shots though. User of the original Olympus EM5 here(2012) ;)
Dope review, I lived in Miami for two years it was difficult to get dope street photography.
You seem to use a lot of high ISO during daylight shots? I thought that they were only used when there was LESS light or when shooting at night? If that sounds like a stupid question please forgive me in advance as I am still trying to get to grips with ISO.

Not razor sharp but I can live with it. At this point I don't know if to buy one, I heard Fuji is working on a interchangeable lens version.
Anyone know if you can force a panorama with a fixed manual exposure so you don't get those subtle changes across the shot?

man... i really wish i new about this camera before i got mine and invested in lenses. i still might get this because it is not as intimidating as a dslr.... also 35mm is my favorite lens length or whatever... think there will be a replacement soon?
Unsure pics, as commented. Tripod or inbuilt stabilizations turned on? Very surprized that 'experienced' gadget owners seem unaware of the importance of these photography 'tricks', amongst many others (holding against a solid surface, ultra-rigid self bracing, etc). Unless there is clarification on this, it has been a very useless review.

how does this compare to the Leica X2
In the present context 100% crop means that a section of the original image is shown at full resolution. Such a crop would show loss of resolution (typical of high ISO) at the pixel level, if it exists.
