If you want to install win7 on netbooks without having touse an external cd drive just download wintoflash it'sreally easy to use and the only thing you really need is the iso and an 8gb flash drive

I actually used a USB external drive. I believe that microsoft can also provide a downloadable file that you can install on a flash drive. Its available if you upgrade to Win7 online.

Not entirely true m8, ive got a dell inspiron 1501 1.8ghz with 512mb ram running on vista and let me tell you it was a POS because of the speed lol, but after a fresh install, its running pretty fast because of the fact that so many unnessary apps were removed, i reckon this mini could do it (but ur ryt about vista eating the memory part lol)
its impossible to have vista on a dell mini 10v because its running only 1g of RAM and vista takes up over a gig just idling
it works because i just did it but its not simply an upgrade. you pretty much have to wipe XP completly off of your netbook and install windows 7 onto it. but its not very complicated

I have a dell inspiron and the windows 7 crashed in 3 hours.... I tried to deal with this with my warrantee but they didn't do anything instead of taking a good 60 bucks for no reason.. DONT GET DELL I FKIN SWEAR IM SICK OF THIS BULLSHIT COMPANY
yes the screen is bright and will handle video streaming although if you want to watch dvd's you'll need an external HD and upgrade to win 7

Hi thanks fir your comments - I find the 1 gig is fine with Win 7 for surfing the web office applications and music and video playback . Upgrading to windows 7 slows you down a little not significantly. I still think this machine is really good at what it does - I wouldn't install to many programmes but for the classic netbook stuff its great.
