I am having the worst luck with finding lenses that will focus when the two images line up in my rangefinder view. The RF view shows it's in focus, but the shots are out of focus. I've taken to doing a series of shots of the same subject, starting at RF view in focus and then turning the focus a bit at time to the end of the throw. I end with one more shot of RF view in focus. I am using a Leica M9 and a K&F LTM to Leica M adapter. You have lots of experience with different lenses mated up to different cameras. I have one M mount lens and it focuses correctly. I don't understand the issue. Thank you

Hi i just got myself a leica cl rangefinder, trying to put on my LTM Leitz Elmar 5cm 3.5 on it. Tried it on with an adapter at a store, and the infinity lock seems to hit the body’s lens button release, when pressed, so i can’t push the lens off infinity lock at all. Help!
Good job on this. I have a question though, I adapt Jupiter screw Mount lenses to my micro 4/3 camera. With a Jupiter lens will it's focusing mechanism couple properly with a Leica Rangefinder mechanism?

The adapters are £100 I could buy 2 Zorki 4k cameras and lenses for that. The Jupiter 8 lens works well on the mirrorless Fuji x pro 1.
When Leica made the M mount, they based the design parameters of the M mount off the screw mount in the sense that a screw mount lens should fit to a M adapter and fit to the camera with infinity focus in check, so the M mount has a larger internal diameter to take the M 39 mount etc

Hey thanks for the video, it is very helpful! I'm looking forward buying a second hand M3 but I can't afford the Leica lens right now. I have a Russian lens Mir-1 and its m39 screw mount. I got a little bit confused about Russian copies. But I Mir-1 is such a good lens and I want to mount it on M3. So my question is, Can I mount this lens on M3 with the adapter you described in the video? Or do I get totally confused about LTM and M? Thank you so much!
This is a really helpful video! I just got my first M3 (super excited) but can't afford a Leica m mount lens, so I was looking into the old LTM to M mount and I think I'll get an older LTM lens and an adapter! One question thought, what adapter are you using in this video?
Does it show the correct lines when it is adapted? Also what brand are you using? I have been researching on these adapters and I need some suggestions on which brand to buy. 
I bought a cheap chinese ltm to m adaptor and infinity was way out, ended up buying a leica ltm to m.

what do you think if we use 35mm TL lens to a Sony? would you choose a M lens than a TL Lens for a Leica CL ?

Can you put an 800mm 5.6 AI-S on a tripod, put a suspended A7R II (that’s less than 2 lb), techart adapter and m to f adapter to the lens, to get AF?
Matt, I have found a small amount of hunting on a Sony Ar7ii but on a Sony a6400 there is no hunting and the techart is quick to autofocus

i must have gotten a bad adapter since it never worked, got the last version of it, the V6 and I never got support from tech art nor the ebay retailer so i had to return it

This is so weird - I was just watching Kai review a manual focus lens (like 10 minutes ago) and wondered whether an adapter could be made to turn manual lenses into autofocus, essentially *exactly* what you're reviewing here.
I have techart pro adapter since it came out, it's very good adapter when is good light and fast lens. What you have is a clone of techart,. Probably you should get it and compare it
jeeze, if you want autofocus, get a autofocus lens.
This Is a clone of a techart adapter that works really well. Of course isn't as fast as a GM lens, but actually is like using motor AF with Nikon D lenses.
The Sigma 50mm 1.4 is a very advanced normal objective.
