Currently I am testing Foscam FI9826P with Xeoma program. It is listed as a supported device on their site. The camera is nicely auto-detected, and displays. However, I am getting very slow frame rates (1-3 fps). What can I change to make this better (URL variables/options specific to the Foscam FI9826P)? What performance should be expected with the following setup?
I like the idea of having not just zoom but pan and tilt functions built in. Seems to be providing quite a high level of functionality considering the price.
Missed a trick with the speaker test. I was expecting something like "OI, GET OUT OF MY HOUSE YOU BIG GIT" Also, shouldn't they make the camera look like a lamp or something to go undetected by street punks?

please answer, Upon entering the application and see my cameras from there , I can visualize very slow and choppy images , this must be because of my cameras Security or the internet that I have , (my internet is not bad, I do well the wifi) ?

What (indoor) wireless ip camera would you recommend for under $200 that provides good image quality in 1080p resolution with at least 30fps? I've been thinking about the Nest Nam or a Samsung security cam and use it in conjunction with something like Blue Iris software. I already have a pan & tilt base so that's not necessarily a requirement. I also already have some IR-leds.

When the lights are turned off, how bright was it? Did it light up the room? Thinking about using this as a toddler monitor but can't have a bunch of light coming from the camera lighting up the room at night. Thanks!
Now that I have high speed fiber optic Internet I want to update the camera I have pointed out my window to share my view, and be able to p/t/z over the internet. Do you have a recommended Foscam for this purpose? Not security. Night vision a plus, but not a big deal. I want one that does well in bright and low light conditions. Thanks. This product is not supported by Firefox, after the last firmware not accessible by firefox with the included foscam-plugin. This problem is since APRIL THIS YEAR. Fucking support. Stupid answers. Useless product.
Sorry to bother you if this is asked before, but I've just hooked up the FI9826P for use as a baby monitor and I'm getting no sound from the camera to either device I'm using; phone (Sony Xperia Z2) or to the home laptop (MacBook Pro).  Used standard start-up disc on the laptop and I'm using TinyCam Monitor Pro app on the Z2.  Even when speaking directly to the camera there is no sound coming to the devices.  An equalizer is showing on the Z2 app and shows a spike when speaking to the camera, just still no sound? Will also be putting a different app on my wife's iphone 6, after figuring out the others...baby steps. Could you advise as to what might be the issue and how to solve it?  You seem to be the best authority on the Foscam, much appreciate any assistance!
So they should be just fine on wifi? My internet is like 68mbps down and 5mbps up which is low.. I'm going to run 2 cameras.. Hopefully it will work out.. I was just worried that they would drop from wifi like I have been hearing and I wouldn't be able to see anything but just in case I'll connect one Ethernet just incase.. On the optical zoom ones do the allow a digital zoom after the optical zoom? That would be pretty cool..
Hey buddy quick question.. I'm getting a couple of these cameras and am going to head out on vacation a couple days.. What would you recommend me to do so they will be stable for a couple days.. Do they lose connection through wifi? I have a really good gaming router if that helps.. Any info or advice would be great !! And the camera is the same one 9826p.. Thanks!!
Hi AwkwardHamster, I purchased the FI9826P.  Your set up videos have been very helpful, however, I am struggling with the recording feature.  I own a MAC and as I try to record on my SD Card, it says "You have not right to access local recording path."  Please help me with this issue.  Thanks!!

I'm looking to add one or two more cameras and I'm trying to decide which of the seemingly endless variety of Foscam options to get (balancing cost vs features). I need Pan/Tilt, but I don't need optical zoom so I'll skip this one. Beyond that, do you have any thoughts on which unit is the best value? Btw, my only real complaint with the FI8910W (once it's set up) is that when I did capture someone stealing a FedEx package off my porch, the image wasn't really clear enough to do much good. I just received my FI9826P today and have it set up with my Synology DS415+.  Everything is working as it should apart from the fact I have no audio either live or recorded.  Might be something I have missed but hope I work it out soon as it is annoying!
Hi AwkwardHamster, I would like to ask you something: What is the best IP camera with a very good audio system (e.g. to listen a small baby ) and maybe with SD card for having the recorders of last 24 hours and optical zoom?  
Can you digital zoom past the optical zoom?

Any difference for the management via a Synology NAS between the P and the W version of this camera? besides the easy way to register the camera on the "cloud" is there any other value on the P version? or after proper manual configuration a W would do the exact same thing?

Great video and information about the FI9826P. I am in the market for an IP security camera after recent thefts of UPS/ FedEx packages in my sub division. CNET gave great reviews about the cameras resolution but no so great about the FOSCAM web interface or mobile app. My biggest concern is the push notifications feature. This is my greatest want in a security camera next to resolution. Do you agree with the author of this review? http://www.cnet.com/products/foscam-plug-and-play-wireless-ip-camera-fi9826p/. Has FOSCAM made this feature available on any of their cameras. Thank you in advance for your time and help!
My cam doesn’t want to show the video. When you login it prompts for the plug-ins and I follow the instructions and I come back to the login screen and it still wants me to download the plug-ins. Any help?

please help I have the same camera...followed the same steps. Connected my WIFI and as soon as i unplug the network cable to run off WIFI doesn't work. The IP address page doesn't even load. What am i doing wrong?? I have the app on my phone as well and it tries to connect then times out.

Nice video pal, just got mine and set up.. the new app i am using at the mo as it has the best pic, bit slow to reconnect but if you close the app and start again it seems to solve it.. will try the ftp setting for motion tomoz see how that is.. do you know how to set up with email ??? Thanks for the video. I purchased a returned Foscam and got it setup locally, both LAN and WIFI. However, when I try to add the camera to IOS app, I get the following error message: "Device (has) already been added to another Foscam account, please delete device on that account first." I have tried resetting the device using the pin button on the bottom of the device, but that doesn't seem to work. Any way of "unlocking" Foscams or deleting them from a previous account without knowing the account owner/information? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Hi. Did you check the bit rate and frame rate on the actual recordings? Mine records at 1/3 of the configured fps, so if I say 30fps, the recordings are always 10fps, whether recorded by the camera on its SD or by Synology Surveillance Station. The bit rate also tends to be around 1/4 to 1/3 of the configured rate. I checked the firmware and apparently it had a 2014 firmware, upgraded it to the latest one, no change. Thx.

I have purchased 2 sets of FI9826P . ok to view and PTZ in the desktop browser (IE under Win 8), but not the Foscam viewer (from Foscam) in iPhone.  I can only view the image but cannot PTZ.  (tried reset both cameras and tested under the same wireless network).   Do you have any idea? or can you recommend any good viewer (preferably freeware) on iOS?   much appreciated..
