While the tech was great, I am wondering why it was a bit complicated to setup the emailing aspect of the motion detector. Maybe it was because I did not set it up by a cd?_*

Regarding those cams I could not find anything online about recording , not enough clearly( no details) like this info is hidden on purpose. if you can recording from distance directly to your laptop’s hard drive , not to sd card and of course for free. Please fill me in if there is any option. Because recording to DVR or sm card is not good option . First job to the burglar is to break all security equipment , hard drives or whatever is there will be destroyed Also I want to buy one 30 fps with a good audio and mic, as well good night vision Which one would you recommend me It does not matter to me foscam or other brand Thanks in advance

I bought FI9831W. Had lots of issues. Plugins (browser) crash, have to wait for the web service in camera to respond for a long time to view the app to control it, and images weren't that solid in outdoor mode. After being fed up with so many issues returned the camera. Its been two months since return and the sluggish support process haven't even refunded me. They keep on mis-communicating and getting lagged in their dealings with customers. I would not ever look at FOSCAM again. Poor quality product, poor support. No good. :(
What if I'm far from the camera, if it was 50km range? I can connect to my cellphone to view the cam?

I have had this camera for about three weeks now. I haven't had much luck trying to get the motion detector/alarm to work properly. The GUI that I have does not look like the one that he is using in this video. The few days that I have had the motion detector alarm system working, the photos look great in my e-mail box, I just can't consistently make the camera record. The router that I am using is a Motorola NVG510, which is b/g/n technology and is supposed to be compatible with this camera.

The responses to this video are bogus.
This video shows smooth motion video on a smartphone. LIES. There is no way to get over 5 fps on a smartphone. I have both a F8918W and F9820 H.264 camera, and neither will give me smooth motion like in this video!

I would like to install a baby camera with audio, in a Non-WiFi household. I see this has a hard wired LAN connection, so was wondering how it could be set up to view and listen on a monitor elsewhere in the house. Or can you recommend another brand. Thank You.
Hi, great videos! I tried an IP camera app for my phone and like the way it records direct to my phone SD card, therefore quality is brilliant. So these foscam cameras record to onboard storage? Or is the only way to record across the network?

I recently purchased another FI8910W and it does say Wireless N on the box.
Other box art and reviews state Wireless N. Are they upgraded FI8910W?
You can set it to record to the computer. But that would also mean the computer needs to be turned on. The e-mail notification will include images, but not video.
Where does the image/videos get recorded to if there is no SD card for storage?
I think I mention the DC input in this video. So technically, this can run off battery. But since it's a wireless device, I don't think you will find a battery that will last a day.
Do you know of a camera like this that runs on batteries? I would like to use it to see wild life activity I don't have power 20' from the house.

I think you're right. You should have to push the AC connector in hard to get some activity on the LAN lights. See if you can exchange the Foscam. If you purchased it from one of their eBay resellers, you may be in luck.
Hi, When I push hard the AC (adapter) connector end to the camera, suddenly there is blinking of light both LAN end, also the front green light on for few seconds (10 sends) then stops. Also there is no movement of my camera. It seems the camera ready to start but failed. I think there is a problem of my AC adapter. I also pussed the reset button for 40 seconds but nothing happened.
Hi. Try resetting your Foscam. On the bottom of the Foscam is a small reset button that can be pressed with a paperclip. Hold it in for 40 seconds for the hard reset to take effect. Afterward, see if the camera works. If it still can't power on, then I think it's an issue with the camers.
Hi AwkardHamster, I bought a same camera from ebay site last week. I completed the initial camera set up and installed the software, everything was running fine but suddenly my camera failed to start yesterday. When I power on the cable the green light is unable to on, there is no movement of my camera. Is there any chance that the camera has locked by itws own? Please help asap. I am very worried. Waiting for your reply.
