Does it have an ability to e-mail a snapshot when motion is detected? If so, have many snapshots does it e-mail. I have FI9821P and it e-mails me a set of three snapshots every time it sees any activity. What about this camera? Thanks.

DONT buy C1. Their firmware is broken. Motion detection is NOT working and it seems they dont have any intention on fixing it. Only the PIR works, meaning it will only react to "heat" and not to change in picture frame.
How can I add my husbands phone so he can view as well ?
Assuming the camera is installed high enough not to be approachable easily, how do I transfer the recorded data on SD, selectively, to my PC? Filzilla is not working with Foscam camera at my station. Any suggestions? and physical removal of SD card is not possible due to mentioned location of installation.

Doesn't look like this camera has PTZ? The capability to remotely control and move the camera 360 degrees? That's a major buying point for me.

We have an fi8910w we use for our toddler and we have another baby on the way so we need another IP camera. We only use the infared and don't want to use lots of data with high resolution viewing. Is it worth getting a newer model such as this ($115) in your opinion or should we get a cheap old fi8910w for $80? We live in New Zealand hence weird prices.. Many thanks

AwkwardHamster: Only little I know about foscam cameras is true your tutorials and guidance as it sees there is no official support or CS for these products. I have an important question and hope you can answer it.I have a C1 placed behind glass, in my vacation residence, behind the window. This is only for general surveillance during day time. Now I notice that someone has spray some black material, possibly inky substance on the glass and this is causing camera to focus on the glass surface, thus blurring all the surveillance view that I need. I think the handicapped foscam's native software is not able to provide manual over-ridding of focus and hope you know of any ways or a third party software that can allow me to do this and rescue this situation, before I physically get there.

This is definitely not what i needed it for. My purpose of buying this c1 was to have it look out my window from the inside. This doesn't work through the glass like you mentioned and definitely doesn't work through the screen either. So now I'm purchasing FI9803P for outisde. Which isn't discreet at all.

I had an c1 it would give me notifications at first but when I went in the Web setings I messed some thing up and then it didn't send them no more

Thanks, ordered one. My decision was based on this video :) Nice cam, has a REAL PIR-movement detection. Usually cams only have picture comparison and they start alarms based on that.
I was wondering how this camera performs under low light conditions without the IR on. I had purchased the FI9821P V2 and it had a real problem with lines banding and color distortion also it would flash bright light then back. I return it for a refund and I am now looking for another model of Foscam. I have the FI8910W's and they work well still to this day. I use the both indoor and outdoor through my windows and turn off the IR lights. I use my outdoor lighting in place of the IR to light up my picture and these older ones work well. So I guess I am asking if you have tried this looking through the window outdoors with only the outdoor lights as your light source and does the picture still look descent enough to see what is outside. Thanks for your videos!! I have a few questions if you wouldn't mind... I am considering this camera (the C1) because of it's wider FOV. It has 115 degrees vs. 70 or so for the other models. 1 - Could I chain together two power cable extension cables? On the product page it does say you can do this? http://foscam.us/black-extension.html 2 - Can you comment if motion detection/ notification is working currently? I know there was some issue about this, but then recently I read somewhere (can't remember) that with the most recent update (on international foscam site, not us) that it is working. The primary purpose for this camera is to get a notification alert. Is there a way to get an instant push notification on an android phone in any way?

The wifi cameras picked up immediately, and has a better picture than I expected. The price was in the low range and that was my deciding factor in purchasing and I don't regret it._*
