fitbit charge 3 and charge 3 special edition are blood oximeter-ready from the box and fitbit had just activated it thru firmware update.

Thank you for sharing it, but I would like to clarify about the spo2, what do you mean about spo2, Fitbit doesnt have spo2, or you dont have an access on the mobile app?
You know, I'm considering buying the special edition for the white band (I'm a sucker for white, not a show off ) - joke, Amazon bands are cheaper than the difference between the regular and the special edition (in my country, Fitbit pay is a nonsense, and I always have my phone with me...).
Stairs climbed (Floors) is extremely inaccurate in the special edition Charge 3.
Considering upgrading from a Charge 2 to a Charge 3 but saw that there were a TON of problems with it stopping working, sync issues, and battery life. A year later, are you having any of these problems?

I cant wear a watch at work can I put it in my pocket or on my bra strap ? Will it still count the calories and steps ? I would like to get it especially for swimming and working out but it would be a nonsense when I dont use it

A few comments about the Fitbit Charge 3.1. I thought I was lucky getting one in late September. But I then had to wait for a week before the Fitbit app could find it.2. I have had the device working for a few weeks now and have averaged 1 firmware update per week. This implies to me that the comment about it being released with beta software is on the money. Connections seem more stable now than earlier.3. Having used a Garmin device which reported VO2MAX only After exercise, I find that the Cardio Fitness score seems wildly optimistic to me, and thus is far less motivating for me to maintain and improve my fitness level. It must be impossible to evaluate VO2MAX from sleep measurements.4. I agree that the watch not having the date is very poor.5. After going to sleep before midnight, I woke about 1 AM one morning to see something like 52 steps recorded, without any having been taken. So I think that Fitbit need to improve their step detection algorithms.At age 65, and having been extremely unfit for quite a while, I was glad to use the Garmin device and to see progress measurements that agreed with how I felt as my fitness improved. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong size in the Garmin (small/medium) and my wife inherited it as it fits her.

For the price of these things, I'd have expected GPS on it so I opted for the Huawei Band 4 Pro instead. It's awesome. No regrets.

So I'm assuming a majority of the downvotes are just people who don't like the charge 3 Because I thought the actual review was very objective and helpful.

My wife and i both have a FB Charge 3 for over a year and we are fed up with it because : you can't read the display on a bright day (even without direct sunlight and in 'auto'-mode) ; the heart rate monitor often is very incorrect ; connecting to the GPS of your phone is problematic and mostly takes several minutes or does not connect at all; every fortnight or so we have a stall and need to do a reset. We are looking at buying 2 Vivoactive 4 -watches from Garmin at the moment. Any advice ?
Your stupid .. You said it has no buttons ...it has one button on The left side... Also if you go to the app you can change the display to show the date..
@14:20... you don't necessarily have to double tap the screen... the accelerometer wakes the screen (not the touch-screen). You can double tap the top of the wrist band as well and the screen will come on.
...had the same issue with over counting steps (Charge 4)... changed the settings to "dominant" for my non-dominant arm and fixed the issue... made it less sensitive and on par, if not better, than the Apple Watch series 5.
Piece of junk. 16 mos is life expectancy.
Not a watch for runners. Impossible to view outdoors due to poor illumination.

I have the Charge 2 with a pretty good battery life. All these new versions 3 and 4 just add a bunch of junk you don't need. Music? Really? Spotify? GPS. What the heck. It should have stayed a simple fitness band with the basic functions and not changed it and discontinued the very good Charge 2. I will never upgrade to this junk.
So, mine has gaps in between the band and the screen, anyone else? How can I solve this

You are out of hook man. Compare with a smart band not smart watch. But despite that i was tricked buying it and it is a bit pricy it is still a good device. The step counter is a joke, it counts dayly double that my P30 phone.
My fitbit sucks, did the hard reset about 6 times in 3 months, doesn't even connect to my phone no more and the time is behind by 15 MInutes so I only use the distance tracker now... my name is Karen I want to speak to the manager of fitbit right now!

I had charge3 for 1 year. So, after the year, a rubber band broken. I've replaced it to a longer one from the box (it was included, probably for thicker wrists) - and after a week it starts to endlessly auto pressing the main button... So now I just couldn't use it and it discharges battery really fast. I've cleaned it, took off all bands, but nothing substantially changed( Also, the warranty period is out. Now I'm thinking about another tracker, definitely not Fitbit. The screen is damaged a bit, some horizontal stripes have appeared. Also, it "counts" steps even when I just waiving my hands. So, based on my experience I definitely wouldn't recommend buying anything from Fitbit - it's just expensive, not so durable, and even can't properly perform its main task - count steps properly.
