At first I was dead set on buying a FiiO X3 3rd Gen. I started searching around the internet for product reviews and came across some, on a FiiO product forum. Aparently this product is somewhat lacking on feature fullfilment. Meaning, not everything works as advertised. I find people complaining about flac and DSD files not playing on it. Skipping from track to track is not smooth, a small lagging is noticeable. Cover art, and information on artits and song titles is not correctly displayed. Some specific file formats are not recognized. Headset pairing over bluetooth link is not working well (it takes some time to pair, and then not all file formats are playable). Above all, firmware updates are not available regularly as they should. Specially when there are unsolved bugs reported. This DAP e quite cool looking, but if I have to nurse it around, I'll just go for another one.
Hows the speed while changing songs from memory card 128gb full of songs? iv had this exp in fiio x1 2nd gen that its very slow for it to load another song, it seems like logging for 10seconds when im selecting other song from another folder using its media library. thats why i resell it.

How is the gapless playback? Another unboxer said in his comments that it is somewhat choppy and not really gapless. that would be a definite dealbreaker for me

The menu looks pretty much identical to the 2nd gen - which isn't a bad thing. At least it's not an old Android :) Try holding the back button, that should put you directly into the menu (and pressing it in the menu should return you to the currently playing song, if memory serves me right). I'm quite curious how it will compare to the 2nd gen.
